Where do I begin?
I had a long work week and wanted something good and relaxing to watch. I saw the movie had Glenn Plummer in it, so I assumed it would be good since I remember him from Menace II Society and South Central. However, this movie was so disappointing in so many ways.
First of all, the plot was very terrible. A baby mama who is a deadbeat mom leaves her son with the father (who has to work) so she can sleep with all kinds of men. He has a girlfriend who is his rock and supports him constantly. But he is a grown child as well. His baby mama talks to him like he's dirt and he says and does nothing about it. He turns down job offers that can pay him very well because he's afraid the jobs will somehow take him away from his son. But he's working a security job that pays him pennies and his girl has to pay for everything. Anyway, he finally grows a pair and decides to take his son for a DNA test to find out his son is not his. Sidenote: his best friend is a freak and got caught in bed with 4 women by his girlfriend.
He goes over to choke his "baby mama" and then stops taking her calls and refuses to see the son he thought was his. He then decides to leave town to take a job somewhere and breaks up with the girlfriend who held him down for 6 years - basically breaking her heart and betraying her. The new job goes good and he starts to date a new woman but then reveals to her why he left his hometown. He goes back because he misses his "son" and finds out his "ex baby mama" moved. He goes to her mom's house, gets cussed out because she is miserable as well, and then the younger sister (the ONLY one in the movie that has sense) calls him to tell him where her sister lives. He's driving to go to their house then the movie cuts to a random funeral. Apparently it is the main character's best friend's cousin who was apparently always drunk. He wrecked his car and died. The movie tries to make the viewers think it was the main character. He then shows up to the funeral. Anyway, at the end, we see his best friend and "baby mama" talking saying that the child is actually his best friend's.
If that was a lot, I didn't even mentioned how disgusting his best friend's behavior is in this movie. I would have given this movie 1 star but I gave it 2 because of the bad women in it. Other than that, don't waste your time watching this movie. I took one for the team.
