scent of Greek tragedy
Kirpianuscus2 August 2016
an old story. well known. rediscover in its spirit in an admirable adaptation. its virtue - to remind. the sound , the force, the high art of ancient Greek theater. and to present the suffering and death and sacrifice and dignity and courage of women in the manner who seems be perfect only as line in book or word on scene. the Italian language becomes perfect cloth for the tragedy. Hecuba of Maria Monti is more than great; she is memorable because entire angry, dignity and passion of the queen of Troy has the aspect of the profound struggle against pain of a simple woman from Balkans against the pressure of history.Isabel Russinova as Andromaca gives the realistic portrait of motherhood. the sacrifice of Astianate is one of the most powerful scenes. and good tool for remind the adaptations of Pasolini for Medea and Edip re. short, a film for see. not as show. but as precious lesson.
