wasn't as bad as 2 of the reviews have... Warning: Spoilers
Chuck "training" new Buy More employee, Hannah, and also learning more about the spy world and having to use someone as an asset, Manoosh, who it turns out built a new interest and is using it now on himself as he really doesn't know who the ring are, the ones who "employed" Manoosh to build it in the first place, yet it all sorta goes together.

Hannah starts work, Chuck was going to go over stuff, but Casey "yogurt shop", and Chuck has to go, leaving behind a kinda confused Hannah. There he learns about Manoosh who the ring have hired to build something for, just don't know what he built. Manoosh, who I think Chuck could really have been friends with, after trial an error manages to gain some trust from Manoosh, but still needed Sarah to "close it" as the ring was right there, making them have to move now. It was as Chuck was "returning case" that he knows Manoosh really is in over head but also that he built intersect (Chuck thought only his dad could), uses it, gets away, for now, from ring and as he told Chuck where he was going they follow, get caught, save day, Chuck almost let Manoosh go, but tranqs him taking him out, as the others would kill, and tells Manoosh he is a spy, so no not a friend, Casey "well he is becoming more an more of a spy good thing" Sarah, "is it", Chuck too you see him struggling as he is figuring it out.

Morgan finds out Chuck went to Paris and said nothing to him, Hannah let it slip to him, as she finds out about Sarah working at yogurt shop, thinks Chuck "Cant let go of ex" (yes and no), oops let it slip, as Chuck said not to tell, but this Paris thing has Morgan "lost", even though Hannah thinks Morgan knows about it, as he is "boss".

Morgan and Ellie think more is going on, and Ellie thinks/knows Devon knows whats going on with Chuck. Yup, Devon knows, told has to lie as if not he and Ellie would end up being "lost" by gov't so isn't it better to protect against this. So we have the start of Morgan and Ellie "working" together to well spy on Chuck. Oh ya, Morgan did try and have Jeff and Lester first spy on Hannah, then on to Chuck, Morgan is even more suspicious of well Chuck.

Interesting to see Chuck with a bottle of "booze", expensive, probably, but looking almost defeated and lost while Casey and Sarah comment about Chuck and turning in to good spy.

What happened to the quality of writing?
Kfwg-strangers6 July 2010
Love this program. Hated this episode. There was such a downturn in the quality of writing in this episode that I was shocked. It felt like a second rate play put on by boy scouts. The plot points were weak and transparent. This can often be forgiven when humour compensates however even this took a dramatic turn south. The characterisation was completely at odds with history. This episode completely lost the charm and consistency which has brought about the program's success. The impression left was whiny, vapid, and evoked an instant desire to find out what happened to the writing. I can only surmise that this is a symptom of 'new' writers, Matthew Miller and Scott Rosenbaum, who have primarily been executive producers? Please bring back the old writers. I felt so disappointed that I've gone to the trouble of registering so that I can write a review. P.S. IMDb what is the point of a ten line minimum review?

It was definitely as bad as 2 of the reviews!!
skay_baltimore30 July 2022
This episode was bad, and for the most part, most of the entire season has been bad. Why? Because, as Shaw himself stated: "Sometimes Chuck looks and acts like a "real spy", and other times he's like Jerry Lewis". (slightly paraphrased) And therein lies the rub: other characters have made at least a modicum of progress since the show began. But Chuck, if anything, has regressed. (Yes...I know...at the end he showed some "progress", but it doesn't begin to offset all the ridiculous stupidity he exhibits over and over and over, for no discernible reason. It's not funny, or charming, or necessary.)

It's one thing to act intimidated and disoriented when it comes to all things CIA/NSA. But to act like a junior high school kid when interacting outside that realm is simply inexcusable. And it's beyond annoying. I find myself muting/fast forwarding through any scene with Chuck that shows him acting the fool. And there are WAY too many instances in which he does exactly that.

This show had great potential. And seasons 1 and 2 showed glimpses of that potential. So far however, in this season, they've totally lost the concept(s) of what made this show really good. (Intrigue, surprises, humor, warmth, and lots of Sarah Walker getting dressed/plus kicking the crap out of people.) ;-)

More like Versus the Armament Museum
laurenthoutent27 April 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Is this show now for an under-10 year old audience or is written by a bunch of underachieving school children during a detention hour?

The much overlong scene in the bar is embarrassingly bad, with immature dialog.

Trip to Dubai! Archive footage of aerial views of Dubai, then visit to a "weap-con" display of obsolete armament in a corner of a disaffected warehouse. Couldn't the producers get hold of public domain footage of some real armament fair?

Shoot-out at the weap-con and no one seems to mind, let alone notice. It would be interesting to know how our trio of spies got the asleep Manoosh from the weap-con to their plane. And we are back at the Castle. Usual waffling and lame verbose then the episode is over.

I used to enjoy Chuck but it's obvious that the writers can't be bothered. They probably know that the show won't run for another season and they are now just lazily earning their fee.

There would not be bikini clad women at an exhibition in Dubai.
