Started off good

I really liked the concept of this series. The office setting was nice and the base of the plot was good too. The beginning was pretty good, although it was a little quick paced. But around episode five or six the story started to weaken. Many of the conflicts felt pointless and even baseless. The chemistry started to die down too. The ending also felt very sudden.

too slow & plain
mayaagustini4 April 2022
The drama is actually fresh in term of theme, educate viewers on how weather forecasting works but apparently the storyline of the characters doesn't really gain my attention.

Love story about gap age, family issue about busy parent and other relationship issue it just too common and packaged without any excitement.

When I found park min young in this drama, I expect a love story with bubbly, playful and dynamic character. Too bad , i got the opposite.

Heart fluttering on episode 4
priyagoswami-944724 March 2022
Show is heart fluttering. It is new for me to see Park Min Young giving orders and not taking so this is refreshing. And what to talk about Song Kang, who is bad for heart, either toxic ( nevertheless ) or hopelessly romantic in this one.

I am liking this show. ❤

Outlook stormy

An interesting idea about a national weather service and the relationships of the staff within it. Each episode reflects on a type of weather phenomenon and translates that into the human interactions that mirror the weather. The main romance is between the director and a slightly younger but very smart junior, but other members of the team are also included. It is well acted and you will walk away from it more aware of the difficulties predicting the weather, but for me I was not really drawn into the overall story.

Different and very enjoyable
Hwangkidong17 March 2022
Most reviewers consider this drama boring due to its lack of dramatic ups and downs. If that's what you're after then you should indeed give this one a miss. So far I am liking this drama a lot. I like that there are no sadistic boss that screams at and tortures the staff non-stop; no friend or colleague to betray you at any step; no evil and all-powerful chairman whose only goal is to destroy our poor hero or heroine and no corrupt police chief to do his bidding; no serial killer lurking around either so far... What we have are pretty normal people with typical challenges in their lives that most of us can relate to one way or another. When it comes to the love lives of the leads and supporting casts, they are realistic. No one is perfect and each person comes with his/her defects or personal trauma. That makes them real. That makes them human. Yet if all this sounds too serious, IMO show somehow manages to bring a very lighthearted and positive atmosphere so it definitely feels like a comedy with many opportunities for a smile or two. We'll see how the 2nd half goes but so far I am really enjoying these sympathetic characters despite, or because of, their occasional pathetic behaviors.

Great idea but sadly falls short
sonia-9511111 April 2022
Oh gosh I started watching this show and it was quite nice the first few episodes. But it ranks low on my list of shows to watch if you haven't . I found the script to be extremely trite. I found the casting quote annoying. The weather forecast as a device is an interesting and great idea. It's just unsatisfactory and feels inauthentic here!!

A joy to watch
tictacgo19 April 2022
I think the reason so many people have given it poor ratings is because of the age difference between the male and female leads. The same thing happened with "We are breaking up". I think many ahjummas who watch K-drama cannot tolerate the fact that a 40 year old actress could play the role of a 32 year old who romances a hunk 10 years younger than her. If not for that fact I can't imagine why in the world anybody would give this brilliantly written, cast, directed and acted show anything less than a 9/10.

Park Min-Young is simply outstanding in every single scene, showing once again why she's the queen of comic timing. The ML also does a good job, but PMY outshines everybody else. The side stories about her sister's fumbling love life, and about her co-workers each of whom is going through their own struggle weaves a beautiful and heartwarming tapestry which is a delight to watch. Each episode is unpredictable and unlike many other Korean shows you want to keep watching until that last 16th episode even though you know whats going to happen for the most part.

It is not just the romance, the heartbreak and the drama which keeps you watching though. It is also the intricate details of weather forecasting which are ingeniously woven into each episode which are a delight to watch. Did I just say "delight to watch" twice? Yes, I did. That's because it is. I'm rarely left with such a good feeling after watching a show. Watch it and you will see what I mean 😊

My love for K-drama started with "What's wrong with Secretary Kim", was renewed by "Crash-landing into you" and continues to be deepened by lovely shows such as this one.

Entering episode 3 , i feel not excited .

It may because the story was plain or no sparks between the main cast . I expect more as drama to watch over weekend.

A happy ending, yet leaves you overall dissatisfied
unrivaledraj11 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I'd say the first 3-4 episodes were really good, very different in ways from other kdramas out there. And that's probably why it got me hooked.

Despite every character getting their supposed happy ending, the show in it's entirety fails to leave you that happy vibe.

For starters, the core of the show is pretty good, the entire work setup is amazing, emaculate and technically quite precise. The chemistry between leads just takes off from the moment they meet, and both the actors do good job to make the viewer feel that sparking chemistry between the characters. Few other things also are quite good, unlike other kdramas and several other shows, this one emphasizes on how getting married isn't the only way to fulfill your love. I also really loved how either of the main leads wasted no time in confessing their feelings, which we always see in every other kdramas, characters taking number of episodes to finally confess. Also, the usual acts of office romance in other dramas, acting silly in office, they weren't here, which was mature and refreshing, and several other things which you'll start to notice and like if you are avid kdrama fan.

But then again, there are several flaws and letdowns in the show which makes it low rated. It should've been 10 episodes. No way this story needed 16, and yet the writers boched that with sudden last 30 minutes ending. Just wrapping up everything.

Now this point is very personal, but yet I felt like they did the ML really bad in this show, like really really bad. At every point it felt like the writers somehow always make him the bad, loser guy. Probably they thought it was required to show a strong FL, which wasn't necessary.

The other letdowns of the show.

The FL lead has more scenes of discussing important emotional thoughts with her ex, than the guy she loves(ML). FL lead is bothered by ML getting a call from his ex, but throughout the show keeps talking, discussing, having drinks and dinner and drive with her ex. And this is when she caught him cheating when they were about to get married, then calls him a loser, bad guy and @sshole, slaps him in office, but then again ends up sitting down with him again and again. Doesn't make sense, and no they weren't friends, as she always maintains the stance that her ex is an @sshole.

This bothered me the most, the ML's ex cheats on him, just out of the blue breaks up and leaves home, yet not once through the 16 episodes the poor ML receives an apology from her, not even a pretentious one. And the writers never bothered to do so.

You immediately fall in love with the ML character, bright, smart, confident happy guy, with no toxic traits like usual kdrama male leads have, yet the writers completely turnover this personality after 3-4 episodes and now he's usually 'not so cool and calm', is bright, but that confidence isn't visible, you see the glimpses, but not how he started.

The other things that bothers most, their reason for breakup. I didn't get that at all, it starts off by ML getting annoyed by FL repeated involvement with her ex and how she's 'moderatly' interested and invested in their relationship, that's how their misunderstanding and fight starts, but that's forgotten and now the reason is shifted to ML doesn't believe in marriage and FL lead see marriage as the end goal of the relationship, but within a span of episode they cover that up, and FL lead changes her mind and she's okay with marriage not being on the cards and relays this to the ML. And then ML breaks up because he doesn't want his crappy father to be a baggage on the GF? I mean seriously? And FL too breaks up.?!? Made no sense at all, NONE. They were already dealing with his father, she could've simply said that it's not a baggage, like she ultimately did in the 16th episode.

I started the show, and it felt so good. But then it got dull and then really annoying and flawed. The writing also killed the superb chemistry between both leads.

Mixed Feelings
manasidhavale4 April 2022
This is the first time I think Song Kang is playing such an upbeat and cheerful character, his character in this drama is like a breath of fresh air from all the other characters he played before.

Park Min-Young as always is fabulous and the queen of office romances.

(I was exhilarated to watch Ki-Jun (Yoon Park's character) being slapped. The whole scene was nicely written) The series has ended, and I have mixed emotions about it.

As an office romance drama, this show was just okay. It was a good attempt to relate weather and relationships, but a few times it got a little confusing to understand, and you will have to focus to know what they actually mean.

Song Kang has tried his best. But halfway through the show, his character lost its charm. His character that started out as cheerful and upbeat lost its impact a little, and more than a few times his acting reminded me of his character from Nevertheless.

I love Park Min-Young and as a fan, I will support her always because I know she has potential. But she does need to play a different character apart from an office worker as it's losing its spark and I know she can, so hoping to see her in a different role in the future.

The secondary leads played their part well and I have to admit in the end I did not hate them as much as I did at the start.

The ending is what we all anticipated.

I do have to confess though that throughout the show I was mesmerized by how fine Song Kang looked. I would watch the show just to look at Song Kang again.

Overall it's a good show, not the best but definitely at least a one-time watch.

These people are hard to like
owlo-1295611 April 2022
I watched this for the cast since I've enjoyed their roles in previous shows. But this didn't come together for me. I really didn't like any of the leads. The only characters I cared about were the sister, the upstairs neighbor, and the mother. The rest... nope.

Somewhere in between
pranayjalvi23 April 2022
Forecasting Love And Weather had a good concept, but dragged down, primarily by weak writing, but also due to it's not so impressive execution.

It felt like there were 2 different things shown on screen, and neither of them was able to achieve anything. The chemistry was good between the leads, however the constant dilemma of the leads to the situation in their hand, made me annoying towards them.

What works though, are the side characters. Chae Yu Jun and Han ki Jun had a happy ending, however it still bothers me that cheating led to a good conclusion though. Apart from them, the personal life of the other members of the Team 2 was quite intriguing which made the plot more interesting and relevant to the message which the lead character should have displayed.

An another drama, where the conclusion wasn't good enough, with focussing on details that weren't much relevant to the premise. However, the story and engagement of side characters' story is what handled the drama a bit well.

My Rating : 6.5/10.

Slow But Sure
zinemamoviemedia3 April 2022
For me, Park Min-young is not as beautiful as her role in What's Wrong with Secretary Kim. This is due to his role as a leader who is very firm and shows him as a very independent figure. This series can be said to have a story that is not too rushed, as well as conflicts that are consistently up and down, but have a very satisfying ending. We see how fun and hard it is to work in government agencies. They look very professional here. And we can see the various types of problems faced by the people in the agency. Lastly, I really like the soundtrack and the jokes that appear.

Not Bad but Expected More

It's kinda become boring after the first-half episodes. But not all bad. If anyone likes slow pace drama then they may love it. And I hate the part where they gave almost half the drama timing to the betrayers.

We Make Our Own Hail ⛈ Frustration, Love, & Workplace Interference °6.8° °good° 💯%🔍
50fiftillidideeBrain17 September 2023
Here's a lite mist to refresh between the storms of heavier dramas. It's often as bland as the smile on Park Min-young's face throughout. For a show about st🌀rms, h🔥t, c☃ld, & tempest⚡this show is surprisingly uneventful. Can they make forecasting the weather exciting? Interesting?

It is interesting to see the decision-paradigm utilized to forecast a heavy rain warning issued in ep1 & the controversy fallout. They cut from a high tech, nearly sterile appearing office to people in the mud sandbagging the riverbanks, a rushing dam release & more ripple effect entailing effort & 💰. A heavy rain advisory ain't just hot air. May I presume that most of us were thoroughly unaware of the contentious nature between fishermen & the weather administration?

As for the characters, their minds are always on the skies. JHK (Jin Ha Kyung) is a ⭐ on the rise at the MA. Her pressure's rising, too. It's hard to stay 🌞 when she wants to rain hellfire on her fiance. "Sometimes I feel like she can't take what she's owed in life from anyone," her mother says. Miss Hospital Corners is so uptight that her inflexible walk is difficult to watch w/o eclipse glasses. She's about to marry her longtime BF/coworker, but she gets ghosted right before the wedding & BF briskly marries someone else who works in the same building. Let the gossip & gawking start pouring down on our humiliated FL. She's played by Park Min Young who generates electric chemistry w/ every male lead. In FL&W's early scenes, either botox or filler washed away her facial expressions. It's distracting. FL&W doesn't utilize her well.

She isn't the only underutilized talent. Song Kang plays ML Lee Shi Woob, a geek. It's kind of a waste of his abilities, the primary one being a walking pheromone. He is downright pathetic in ep1, which strains the eyes more than JHK's over-stiff gate. Yoon Park, who plays ex-fiance Han Ki Joon, had a similar role in My Shy Boss(6.5) in which he retrogrades from Mr. Cool into Mr. Slight-Chance after turbulence, adjusting his body language from confident to defeated marvelously. We see his pressure building from the past to the present in FL&W. Frustration & feelings of isolation became an arctic chill over time, because his fiance was married to her job. He slings sandbags - of sleaze - sometimes we don't notice a person in our life is sleazy because we see what we want to see & fail to be as attentive as we should be.

Then there's the ubiquitous mother: Kim Mi-kyung. She gets to have a temper tantrum in this one. It must have felt good. Lee Sung Wook plays Eom Dong Han from Team 2. He's a weather geek who chose to marry & have a child. Opting to work remotely, he continued to provide 💰, but denied them his presence for years, so his wife is bitter. She's using their daughter to vent her justified anger. That's a toxic, selfish act, & it's never okay. Jang So Yeon plays his wife, Lee Hyang Rae. She has to play someone who gets hit w/ extremely painful things in 'Something in the Rain'(8.6), & she handled it convincingly. She has gravitas. Jung Woon Sun as Jin Tae Kyung, & Moon Tae Yu, as Shin Seok Ho, round out the main cast. She's our FL's sister & a bit of a mess. He's an anal-retentive (capitalize that) meteorologist. They are the cold front that's blasted by a heatwave; their 2ndary 💓 is one of the best things in the show. As for the primary romance, it is usually cloudless skies. In FL&W we flow w/ the protags through daily life w/ constant changes in currents & humidity. Puffs of clouds will form, 💧 will fall, sometimes they get wet. At work there is virtually no protection from the hail of gossip. There's no dramatic typhoons or blizzards, just everyday existence.

Marriage is considered a life success, of sorts, but the married couples are the ones that are always fighting in FL&W. Being married washes up latent expectations that are not automatically met. It's also an extra weight of responsibility in taking on, in the form of a lifetime commitment, another person's burdens & struggles, putting up w/ failures, & also creating kids (more lives + more work + more struggles). Dong Han from Team 2 loves being a dad after being absent for so long, but soon he learns the agony that can come w/ it. The payoff is supposed to be more love. Nobody does it perfectly - Not you; not me. I've always joked that parenting is all about guilt. What I didn't know before is that loss & grief also taunt us w/ regret & guilt. It's a feeling that I would spare all. In one notable scene a now split up couple, each in new relationships where some of the same issues have manifested once again, have dinner together to discuss where they went wrong. They manage to have a constructive deconstruction of their relationship & how it got off course. Each could now see things about themselves & where they might need to improve. Alot of people who think that moving on to another 💓 will fix things are often disappointed. One mother talked about how the pettiness adds up, but it was a mistake for her to break up her first marriage. In our uber individualistic & rage-prone society we get mad at every little offense, but we forgive ourselves quite easily for the same things. For example, our newlyweds have kept some things from eachother. She used to live w/ her boyfriend & she never told her husband, because she was worried he wouldn't like it. (SK is more conservative about these things than the USA). He finds out, & he doesn't like it. He °really° doesn't like it. This is a guy who used to live w/ his GF, whom he broke up w/ right before the wedding. Does he have any right to be offended? Q: Why is he blind to his own stuff? A: Because we all are🙈. One of the main reasons marriages suffer from a dreadful >50% divorce rate is because of 2nd & 3rd marriages, which have a terrible success rate. First marriages are still more likely to succeed than not. Alittle extra effort, the knowledge that you aren't a perfect mate either, & sincerely trying to see things from the other person's perspective may part the clouds & let the 🌞 in.

That is the theme of FL&W: Hang in there, keep at it & try to stay together, because: It's going to rain; a storm is brewing. The forecast looks ominous & it's best not to face it alone. Umbrellas send signals about relationships. Our FL thinks back to when her fiance held one over her head - when things were going well. She almost smiles until she remembers that the wedding's in a month, the deposit was never paid, & her fiance is gone with the wind. Taking on a decided chill, she walks away letting the rain soak her. The 2ndary couple, just beginning to realize their interest, admit to eachother how they feel & leave the restaurant as he holds her close under his ☔. The camera pans back to the table they just vacated to show a forgotten 🌂 they left behind: They only need one 🌂 now. They will brave the elements together. It's a lovely touch. There's definitely another theme that they are whispering down the lane: Gossip hurts. Nobody can mind h/h own business at the Meteorological Administration. We make our own hell. Why do we gossip? Pride. People have an insatiable compulsion to compare ourselves to others & tell ourselves that we are doing better by comparison. Those are just the lies we tell ourselves, folks. What does comparing oneself to a person w/ different skills, backgrounds, personalities, strengths, weakness, IQ, experiences, connections, challenges & the myriad of other variants even mean? It's the most worthless, empty thinking possible. Gossips are society's ice storms that leave destruction in their wake.

FLoW & FLaW - No one expects them to get it right every time. FL&W is often formulaic & uninspiring, along w/ some downright lackluster delivery. Yet it has plenty of solid elements. There's some truly cute & amusing scenes, but not until the show is 30% over. The 🌞 pokes through to shine brightly at times: Zoom in shots from satellite height down to ground level add excitement. There's cool shots of weather phenomena including a typhoon (which looks exactly like whipped cream on top of a delicious concoction which has always distracted me). The married-ex's apt has narcissist sized wedding pictures on the LR wall; their problems quickly become bigger than those 8ft × 10fts. When the AC brakes, everybody's sweating & fanning; cut over to Mr. OCD who looks cool as a 🥒 w/ his handheld fan. His carefully controlled life will be typhooned by our FL's sister. The restaurant scenes are cute. The first time our leads run into eachother they sit apart, one being too hot & the other too cold. Soon, they're sitting together, lookin cozy. The chef's reactions to them are closely monitored & add layers of warm enjoyment to these vignettes. The director turns a one night stand into a visual weather metaphor - I felt undone - it's exceptional. There is a scene w/ 4 men, 1 woman & 1 apt in ep7 that is pretty darn funny. It's a nice touch when the screen splits w/ the heads of our leads & her mother lined up to show the same exact downturned mouth. Many of the characters are going through similar struggles & end up mirroring eachother, either in uniformity or a contrast of opposites. It's good filmmaking. So, w/ what I now know, would I choose to watch it again for the first time? There's a 60% chance that I would.

And that's the 🔥 & the ☃brr of it. At many moments it's a little pedestrian & at others there's a good message, the acting is good, there are laughs, & our social intelligence is challenged. For some of us, the best value is that it's a mostly pleasant brainless watch if you want to do a mental shutdown - a thing as necessary as an occasional rainstorm.

Constant changes of heart and climate
witra_as18 April 2022
Hujan.. Salju..

The couple skipped honeymoon phase
caterinadib30 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The female mane character doesn't show much emotions, I didn't buy it that she's in love with him. He definitely does a better job in acting romantic/in love.

I definitely learned life lessons about love!

I mostly skipped the too detailed weather conversations.

I found it confusing how at the start of the show they were very attracted to each other and slept together. After that they suddenly were barely attracted to each other. Then they suddenly broke up??? I was so confused. This couple just skipped the honeymoon phase in a relationship.

Other than that I really enjoyed the poetry about love and the metaphors.

Typical Soap Full of miscommunication tropes
KalpeshHemant419 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I thoroughly enjoyed the beautifully made warm-hearted Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha so went into Forecasting Love and Weather with that same mindset of great quality & extraordinary charm.

Gosh this was disappointing. So much so I struggled to finish the 16 episodes - so drawn out with so many problems.

The typical soap miscommunication trope is used so much in this series. Not only did the premise start off with a cheating couple but we as the audience are supposed to care for the cheaters throughout the whole series? I didn't care for them one bit and I also didn't care for the two terrible fathers in this series - one being a deadbeat Dad, the other apparently works so hard that he doesn't live with his wife & daughter who are in the same city! So much screen time for these unnecessary characters.

Some Fathers are simply not redeemable.

As the audience why should we care for them in this show?

The two main characters have very little chemistry imo, the 'kid' is very good looking but there is no other great qualities about him to make the Director fall in love with him. Song Kang is under utilised, too little screen time. Park Min-Young's character is very cold, treats her Mum terribly and communicates badly if not at all. Again why should we care about the two protagonists who may be deeply flawed but spend so little time together for us to cheer for their romance.

From an editing point of view, I detested the cuts then flashbacks to show fully what happened in a scene. These cuts were made too often and got super frustrating.

On the plus side I loved the overbearing Mother. I also liked the idea of showing how detailed weather stations are and their effect on how a country functions & depends on. Melodramatic but a different premise to explore in a tv series.

Overall this is how to make a series less compelling, so I'm disappointed. So much potential wasted.

Chemistry for miles - loved it
Equuleus7828 April 2022
Really loved this office romance set in a Meteorological Agency in Korea - I learned more about the weather and how it is forecast than I ever did in Geography.

The leads are solid and play off each other with plenty of sparks and pathos, the writers even manage the impressive feat of making you like everyone by the end.

The relationships end as they should with plenty of pratfalls along the way, it is a beautifully shot thoughtful and satisfying romance.

And Song Kang is in it, so enough said.

The weather forecast predictions are awesome!
shareen_shany8 May 2022
2 great main casts Park MY & Song K. Park MY is not only sexy, beautiful & also romantic queen. Her drama is mostly swoonworthy! Loved all of them but her she looks frown & sad in most scenes.

Song Kang is like her, most of his drama is also swoonworthy too. So they are a perfect match for the love scenes.

When they are together, the scenes are romantic but unfortunately their love story is too short & insufficiently focus. It should be more!

The love story of the other couples could be shorter. It's rather irrelevant.

The best part of this drama is the focus on weather predictions & the awesome team 2.

Just these storyline alone, it's worth watching but the love story between the 2 main casts is sadly lacking due to other couples storyline except for the senior forecaster story is interesting for his sacrifices.
