Season 01 Last Episode CLIMAX is horrible and Depressive.
kapsindia_facebook16 January 2022
Good Concept. Good Screenplay . Good Direction . Good Characterisations . Good Performances . BAD Ending.

Ending is really BAD, as it sumped up so horribly and Over-Fictitious that for a story of this level it went totally disastro7s.

Also the Ending spoiled the series to the extent that there is nothing went to look forward for the 2nd season(if it is in the making or plan).

In a line:- BAD Ending of a Fabulous Script.

Iconic

Sameer Lodaya

A master piece from Vipul with a new sensitive subject

The series contains all the elements like new story, great performances, huge starcasts ,fusion, darkness, great artwork ,politics ,corporate games , affairs , family drama etc

The series is of different characters and with their own stories all well connected to drug trails..Shefali kirti vishal seema and all other actors have played a high note of acting..the direction of Vipul and mozez is of high standards

The negative elements of this series is of 10 episodes, slow in pace ,unwanted scenes, prolonged climax.

One more Hindi iconic series.

Movie premyy honest review
premmgor19 January 2022
It talks about the dark side of the medical profession, drug trials, Politics, and human emotions. It is slow, violent, complex, and filled with many unnecessary subs plots but the thought-provoking storyline, sensitively handling of LGBTQ issues, amazing editing, and performances make this one time to watch. Highly recommended! 😄

Excellent thriller at right pace.

The Disney+ Hotstar series Human is a bombastic indictment of the pharmaceutical industry and private healthcare's ravenous appetite for profit.

Had more potential

Its a very good series but it could have been a great one. The screenplay was inconsistent at times which cost the series' effect. But you should watch it nevertheless.

My goodness Shefali...My goodness!
anikb-8709915 January 2022
First of all, , internet doctors, please dont go into post-mortem mode to find inaccuracies in these shows they are solely made for entertainment purpose and is not a documentary that you are looking for accuracies. Please for love of god, read the disclaimer that makers put an effort to write at the beginning of the show where they clearly mention "This show is a work of fiction solely for entertainment."

This show completely belongs to Shefali Shah, who plays a pyscho doctor. My goodness you must witness her performance. Haunting and Terrifying! At times, her character literally sends shivers down your spine while most of times she successfully brings out the anger out of the audience. This has got to be the toughest character she has ever played in her career. Her character is not a simple one, rather a complex mix of varying emotions, mostly negative ones.

The story is not only about the wrong human trials of drugs, but also deals with human poverty, human emotions, human relations, human trauma and what not, hence the series is named "HUMAN". This series belongs to a very small category of audience that have the patience to digest slow burners so if you see anyone saying it is boring, probably they are those masala lovers so you just ignore them. Believe me, the series is quite a complicated one as more and more weird and complex characters find their way in. So, if you are a fan of slow complicated interesting films, this series is for you and you will get to witness a lot of different stuff related to a "Human".

Other than Shefali, the other stand out performer is undoubtedly Vishal Jethwa, the dude we last saw in a terrific performance in Mardaani 2. Here, he gets much more screen space to display his talent and boy does he excel like anything. He shows a wide range of emotions from being happy to raging to breaking down in emotional scenes to his helplessness in situations due to his financial condition, this boy literally steals everyone's heart. If Shefali excelled from the negative side, Vishal excels like anything from the positive side. Not only him, his family consisting of his sister and father played by Sudhanshu Pandey also excel. This boy should get more chances.

Kriti Kulhari is just too ordinary. Her role itself is not anything as special as the other two i mentioned. Seema Biswas, oh how could i forget her. The 2nd most haunting performance after Shefali comes from her. She is just too good. She and her screen time with the girl named Deepali (she is too cute :)) towards the end were some highlights.

The climax is a mix of tragedy and happy ending. Trust me, the satisfaction you get from the happy ending is 100x larger than the heartbreak from the tragedy. In fact, i was hardly heartbroken actually from the tragedy but the happy ending, it filled my heart with joy and satisfaction.

Negatives - yes definitely there. Dealing with so many topics in one series kinda makes the execution falter at several places. The LGBTQ angle was absolutely unnecessary as it adds nothing to the main plots rather it creates a subplot of its own that only increases the length of this series unnecessarily. Could have been wrapped up in 8 episodes. The bhopal Gas tragedy scene in ep6 is incorrectly represented and the makers happily chose to ignore the fact that in 1984, today's rajdhani express coaches were not there xD. Indra Chakrabrorty as Neil is wasted.

Watch this series but dont expect it to be a regular straightforward series. Choose wisely, it is slow paced but worth your time.

A must watch series showing how the rich and powerful ruin the poor in India
ShriArunKumar14 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Human is a must watch series. It is a story of the pharmaceutical industry and private healthcare's ravenous appetite for profit at the cost of human lives.

Each episode is gripping and you would be hoping that the good characters do get justice. But in your heart you'd know how hopeless the system is for them.

In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, a pharma giant and an elite private hospital collude to fast track the development of a drug, despite knowing its fatal side effects. The poor become sacrificial lambs at the secret clinical trials.

The rich and powerful have set up a system to con poor patients into participating in the clinical trials. The side-effects are quite grotesque and scary. Many are dying, but their deaths cannot be connected to the faulty drug.

There are many things to like in Human: its themes, the potboiler screenplay, the tight filmmaking at work and the performances of the actors.

Shefali Shah's is fantastic as Gauri. It is not just one of her best roles ever, but also one of the best characters in an Indian web series till date.

It's a must watch series showing how the rich and powerful ruin the poor in India.

A great story gone wasted
Tamashha17 January 2022
This would have been a master piece if they would have only focus on the main idea of human trials carried out by drug companies, but somehow i felt that it took back stage and they tried to create many subplot like lBhopal gas victims(Since the story is based in Bhipoal) lesbian angle, politics, unnecessary drama. Acting wise Shefali Shah was brilliant in some scenes while over acted in some. Kirti Kulhari was good, but her character looked confused. Ram Kapoor i don't know why he took such a role. Vikas was over the board in some scenes.

A Compelling Edge-of The Seat Medical Thriller Packed With Some Brilliant Performances !!!
cs_rahul_prasad21 January 2022
Cardiac specialist Dr. Saira Sabharwal is thrilled to join Manthan, the multi-specialty hospital founded and headed by one of India's ace neurosurgeons, Dr. Gauri Nath, whom she holds in the highest regard. Even as the two become close friends, a series of events starting with a drug trial gone wrong will not only impact them hard, and thwart their ambitions, but also affect those around them as well.

The opening scene, in the laboratory of Vayu Pharma in Bhopal, where a drug is being tested on rats, sets the tone for the series that looks into hurried drug trials on unsuspecting poor and naive people, the ruthless ways of big hospitals, pharma companies and their politics, and more.

While medical thrillers in the West aren't uncommon, they are rare in India. And that's where show creators Vipul Amrutlal Shah and Mozez Singh (who has also written and directed it) deserve kudos for taking the road seldom traveled here. The screenplay delves behind the scenes of how medicines are first tested on lab rats and after reasonably good results are tried on humans in a few phases, before they're ascertained safe for use and released into the market. The show also shows the scars of Bhopal Gas Tragedy continue haunt the people, even after 37 years since the deadly chemical (gas) leak at Union Carbide.

What makes this show engrossing are the many parallel plots and subplots that keep you hooked, lest you miss something. At the same time, the show also looks at the politics within the board of directors of a hugely renowned hospital, how poor gullible folk is lured by quick bucks to submit to a drug trial without being explained the details and what side-effects they may have to face. If that's not enough, most of the characters have shades of grey and are also simultaneously grappling with different crises in their personal space. Moreover, there's also the open marriage and lesbianism angles which, after a point, makes you feel that there's too much happening in this show, taking away from the core idea. And that's when the narrative seems to lag a bit and you wish the show's makers had kept the length in check.

Shefali Shah once again displays her mettle as an actress and portrays the many facets of Dr. Gauri Nath with conviction. Whether she's the calm and composed head of her hospital or vulnerable with her old confidante Roma Ma (aptly enacted by Seema Biswas), she lends a certain gravitas to her character. Kirti Kulhari proves her potential as Dr. Saira Sabharwal, who decides to follow the path of righteousness in the face of fierce opposition, on both, work and personal fronts.

Ram Kapoor is effective as Gauri Nath's husband Pratap Munjal, who manages her business affairs in the boardroom and with the politicians. Aditya Shrivastav does a good job of playing Ashok Vaidya, the head of Vayu Pharma, who needs to get a reliable drug for heart patients in the market lest his firm collapse under the weight of recent debacles.

Vishal Jethwa (of Mardaani fame) showcases his talent as the poor Mangu who sources gullible people to undergo testing for heart medicine to make some quick bucks since he's tired of working at the morgue. The supporting cast plays their parts as expected.

Shriram Kanna Iyengar and Sujeet Subhash Sawant's production design is realistic. Cinematographer Sirsha Ray has aptly shot the show, in the interiors and real locations of Bhopal.

To sum up, Human is an interesting series with a novel subject and unpredictable narrative that is sure to make you binge-watch it. At the same time, with barely a few light moments, it's also very intense and can get morbid at times. While it makes a compelling watch, the faint-hearted may brave it and take it slow.

Opportunity wasted..
just_ashishsingh25 January 2022
The series had a lot going for it with a great concept but it loses its way in the subplots. The series is a drag and what could have been a great show ends up being a mediocre fare.

Shefali is just brilliant but Kriti's performance is very inconsistent and is at times annoying. About time she stops taking up roles where she is crying or confused, we have seen her in many such roles over the years.

Wish they had concentrated on the great main plot and not got lost in the characters!

Good attempt but could have been so much more
JPEI6417 January 2022
Overall an ok watch compared to any of recent stuff that has come out on OTT. Hugely theatrical though - like a stylish Ekta Kapoor soap opera from 90's. You don't really get an emotional connect with any character since it all looks staged and many situations appear stilted and awkward.

The problem here is the makers tried very hard to make a gripping thriller but went all over the place with silly sub plots that halfway through it just becomes a bland khichdi.

Shefali tends to overact in many scenes. I think she's a good actress, and has many similarities with Rekha in terms of acting and looks ( but Rekha of course is the original) but here, you literally see her trying desparately hard to squeeze out an entire gamut of emotions, rolling eyes, sultry baritone (really?) heavy breathing etc. Doesn't work and you are left cold.

Kirti is average.

Vivek is very good. At times playing to the gallery but still watchable.

It was great to see Seema Biswas after long. But here she is wasted.

The son is so irritating and unconvincing.

Everyone else strictly ok.

Indian actors need to understand the art of being subtle and to really get into character. But then I guess not everyone can be a Naseeruddin, Shabana, Rekha, Smita, Irfan or Nawazuddin.

An untouched subject of drug trials and the conniving nexus of Pharma companies and doctors. Shefali Shah and kirti have nailed it while every other supporting actor has done a tremendous job. Must watch.

We the humans
hsjmymfmn21 January 2022
The story is less about illegal drug trials on humans and more about the trials the different humans go through in this unique story. It paints the picture of the rich exploiting the poor and the poor volunteering to be exploited.

The negative are places where the story deliberately becomes slow and somehow it's self conscious about it. But the audience may not always appreciate it. Overall a good series to watch but not be a great one to Binge on.

My Rating : 8/10

Looking for something suspenseful and unusual? 'Human' has you covered. It's an interesting subject and the makers have done a splendid job executing it. The actors are all very much engaging and believable however Shefali Shah stands out delivering one of her career's best performance.

The unusual touches and quirks of the show really make it something different and the various stories are all nicely connected up to the main storyline.

Iconic, 'Human' is a rare web series, absolutely look forward to the next season!

Good story but treatment Could be better
sachindixit-6584816 January 2022
This series truly and totally belongs to Shaifali Shah. Her performance is awesome in this series. Her acting make the audience hate her character . In some portions she is quite frightening and mysterious.

Second best actor is seema biswas.

Kirti kulhari's performance was average. Indrajeet sengupta's skills are wasted here as the role given to him was not that much good.

Direction is a bit slow

Negative points : length of this series could be reduced from 10 to 8 episodes. Too filmy with so many layers and subplots that sometime confuses the viewers.

A Convoluted Suspense Thriller
indianature18 January 2022
I watched Human (2022) in orig. Hindi-Eng. W/Eng. Subs on Disney+Hotstar, with great expectations after going through some glowing critic reviews!

Truth be told, the narrative is overly convoluted, the all pervading aura of this series is the darkest shade of Noir, and Super Grim. A tad too grim for my liking though the episodes held my interest, give or take a few bouts of fast forwarding.

Every character is psychotic to some extent or the other, the story would have one believe this is due to their respective traumatic past. Dr Gouri Nath (Shefali Shah), an acclaimed neurologist and ambitious Chairman of Manthan Hospital, is spookily weird. Gouri in her formative years was routinely molested and demeaned by the highly respected head of the Nath household. Shefali enacts Gouri's role superbly in several frames but soap operatically in many others. Roma Ma (Seema Biswas) helps her through her traumatic times with psychotropic drugs, and assists Gouri in her questionable Drug Trials for big pharma companies. Gouri brings Dr Saira Sabherwal(Kirti Kulhari) a promising cardiac surgeon to Manthan and convinces her to approve the Phase trials for a new drug with dubious antecedents. Saira has her own personal demons to deal with. She is a closet lesbian in a heterosexual marriage to Neel (Indraneil Sengupta). Saira is in a relationship with a former lover Shalini, and then with Gouri who stops at nothing in her effort to manipulate people for her goals. Kirti Kulhari like Shefali Shah, is effective in parts but annoyingly stilted in several other scenes.

Mangu (Vishal Jethwa) a young man who works in a mortuary as a post mortem "body cutter" seeks a better life for his family. He gets enticed into the Drug Trials racket, getting commissions on every volunteer he brings in. His mother also gets a Trial dose, but suffers serious side effects and eventually dies. An NGO activist steps in and the murky world of Drug Trial scams is slowly revealed in every convoluted turn of the tale. Vishal Jethwa and his father (Sushil Pandey) are the most convincing characters of the series and have done an outstanding enactment of their roles.

Watch to see how this twisted narration of mind games, big business, political nexus and suspense plays out.
