Good Thriller a little bit stretched but Great performance

Just not saying this because of I am a Yami Gautam Fan. And I really don't understand films how these Reviewers does. But LOST is a good movie. Yes sometime you will fill bored , doesn't have the soul of KAHANI but now a days the kind of Bollywood movies is being made, in that standard this will stand out as a good film.

It could have been a great thriller if the ending was cleverly planned.

It does get lost into finding actually what it wants. It was going into the right direction but got lost in between. Here Vidhi is just going to people and just asking some bunch of questions. But at the end just one person gave away what actually happened to Ishaan. I mean really.

Now about performances. In that case you won't be able to find anyone who isn't suitable for their role. Yami as Vidhi is simply fantastic. You will actually travel with Vidhi around Kolkata. Vidhi is fearless, always speaks her mind, yet she is empathetic, emotional. In one scene she is sitting with Ishaan's sister and told her to eat a cake, after that she looks at her, you will see Vidhi's empathy through Yami,s eyes, That's how good she is. Rahul Khanna, Pankaj Kapoor, Pia everyone is apt to their role.

Well balanced

The movie is well balanced between the fact and assumption

The movie has a general content of a missing boy in which a politician is involved..yami as a criminal reporter tries to join the dots and investigates about the missing boy

The making is very good with yami again played a very strong character after her thrilling movie A THURSDAY though she looked a little soft but managed very well as good support by pankajji, Rahul as usual looks very fresh and young also played a smart politician...some scenes were really very strong in dialogues deliveries

The core part of the movie is the climax which is very good and will ask you what is right and wrong

Let's see how other movies performs as there are many releases this weekend.

Overstretched film and ordinary story.

What could have been 45 mins short film is stretched for 2 hours. Story is just ok, nothing extraordinary. Many story points dont have much logic. As far as performances are concerned, Yami Gautam is fine not the best, Pankaj Kapoor is legend anyways so he wont disappoint, Rahul khanna is ok, other actors are also just fine. There is one interview in last 40 mins, even if you start watching from there, you will understand all the story till that point. Critics are giving unnecessary high reviews to this film. They made the film like something very artistic and award winning, that effort is visible, directors do this now a days, when they have no substance, they try to make it artistic.

Picturization of Kolkata is real hero

Lost (streaming on Z5) 13 crore budget film.

After 'Kahani' mesmeric picturization of our own city of joy vibrant Kolkata specially North Kolkata by Aniruddha Roychowdhury director of Pink.. Anuranan..Antaheen.

The story narrating the lost of values, integrity, dedication, negative shades of politics.. in background of a young woman crime reporter who is working on a story of sudden disappearance of a young student theater activist.

Brilliant casting. Yami Gautam steals the show , Tushar Pandey as usual performed his best. Rahul Khanna as a antagonist with always smiling innocent face but very shrewd and Pankaj Kapoor as intellect professor proved that they can justice brilliantly their character authentically.

Lost is not a entertaining movie, may be sometime you feel that you have wasted 2 hour. But its compelling to you to think, to find the answer of questions arise in your mind.

There are so many loose ends..flaws in script, but message.. narrative.. statement..is not loose, its very strong. Thought process is very clear.

Worth watching. My rating will be 3 out of 5.

This Film received a standing ovation at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival, where it premiered. It was also selected as the closing film of Atlanta Indian Film Festival.

Unnecessarily stretched

The plot of the film is pretty strong. It's basically about kidnapping and brain washing and politics involved in it.

However, the portrayal of this story is pretty average. I really didn't understand if there was an investigation going on as to where the missing Ishan Bharti was, or were they trying to prove him a maoist the whole time? This is where the film gets Lost.

Many scenes just move at express pace without allowing to settle while many scenes are just too unnecessary and slow down the film even further especially in between when things move slow. Yami 's husband scenes could simply have been chopped off as they add nothing to the story. The conversations between Yami and Pankaj could have been cut short .

Overall, a film that you can feel wanted to shout out loud but is only reduced to a squeak. Wanted better from the Pink director.

Forget about Critics just give a try...!!!

Aniruddha choudhary is back with yet another investigative thriller,taking the negative shades of politics where even the downtrodden or the wisest people loose to power and money.... Special mention is that he doesn't allow the romance portion overshadow the plot Yami Gautam just nailed it...her subtle performance or frustration or even a strong women of substance makes this flick a worthy package.... Pankaj Kapoor gives a midas touch to the flick,his flawless acting and especially the one-liners or life quotes is a value added bonanza to the movie... Forget about the negative review from the masses or critics just sit tight and give ur valuable time coz this plot never disappoints u .. Overall the director forgot the results and dedicated a honest justification to the climax which was branded as a clueless or cringe.

Repulsive and Inconclusive

If you want to address too many issues and you don't have strong story nothing can save you. Lost picked up haphazardly and then set some momentum but then collapsed. Everyone tried little too hard and no actor other than Rahul Khanna is convincing. Yami sadly was main lead and her role was most confusing. She had to be brave, journalist, vulnerable and she get connected to the antagonist due to her father.

Film was too repetitive and unnecessary songs were introduced which did nothing but were irritating. At times you too give up with Yami that film will remain bleak with unnecessary introduction of unnecessary plots. Most hilarious was the ending when you hear lecture which was more repulsive as you know how whole plot that was built has been collapsed and now director wants to save himself by telling the viewer how you have been made sucker.

Skip it to save headache l.

Slow and Steady Thrill

This is one of those movies that keep you glued to the screen till the end. Although you could guess what could happen, but it proves you wrong every single time. This movie will not pump up your adrenaline nor it has any scene that would make you jump off your seat. The director has kept the thrill under pressure and he releases it slowly one wrap at a time till the end of the movie. Moreover, the situations and conditions shown are very relatable and you could feel the mental anxiety an investigative reporter faces 24x7 while doing his/her job. At one point, one can easily feel as if an investigative journalist is no less than an undercover spy or cop but without any protection!

I loved the character building, story flow and how the protagonist steered clear her way. Yami Gautam is at her best, as usual along with the supporting star cast. My take: One should at least watch it once rather than falling for the propaganda machinery.

Story is intriguing but the story telling sucks!

So many good actors and yet Lost fails to deliver on what could have been a good movie.

The premise is good, but as many reviews have noted the story is stretched too long. I can't even call it slow burn. Many scenes are unnecessarily long, and some don't even add much to portraying who the characters are or contributing to the story.

The way characters talk to each other feels weird and unnatural. I couldn't help feel that Rahul Khanna was trying to emulate RG✋ which just distracts from the story. Did the writers really want that?

Reviews that have given this 9 and 10 stars is Lost on me. Maybe I missed something?

Yami deserves accolades

Yami deserves accolades for her creative script choosing. Being one of the leading female Bollywood actresses, you deserve more attention. I like the originality of Yami's flicks. As she does not belong with the group, she stands out. I adore her and the rest of the film's cast and crew for their great intelligence and attractiveness. Whoa, Yami really went all out with her script choosing. By taking these roles, she exhibits her fearlessness in the face of adversity. Excellent work. Yami shines as both an actor and a literary curator. It is admirable that she prioritizes literary quality above financial success. When I read one of her books, one of her characters always strikes a chord with me.

Film is Lost in itself

The film's main flaw is it weakly carries the plot and instead of deepening and exploring the themes, it diverts into another. I'm sure that the intention was to make Lost a thrilling experience but it ends up being a dull affair with its slow plot and almost non-existent suspense.

Yami Gautam gives a disappointing performance with her patchy dialogue delivery and unconvincing portrayal. Despite having a great character, her one-note performance falls flat and makes the story look untrustworthy.

On the whole, Lost is a tedious watch with a lack of deftness in writing, direction and acting. There are few moments of brilliance but overall it fails to create an enjoyable experience.

Slow and boring

Could have been a 90 minute movie but they stretched it as much as they could have.

For Bollywood it has always cool to show thag Mom and Dad are useless because she is independent lady focused on her career and her parents do not believe in her Boyfriend is useless because she is so progressive and only her career is of paramount importance. Anyway feel sad for poor old Nanu who seems to be doing all the work in the movie, from laundry, to making tea,breakfast, dinner and taking care of Yami. There is a scene where she demands a cup of tea late in the night when least she could have done is prepare a good cup of tea for him. But anyway if you like such movies then go for it.

Thriller story

Lost Movie 2023 is totally was Good , and Yami Guatam Performance was Totally unmarcable.

But Movie Was Lost is a movie that feels compelling and pertinent on paper. But the film somewhere wasn't completely grabbing your attention. The realness in how the scenes are rendered and the quality of the performances make it a non-boring film. It was one of those films that could have been the talk of the town but couldn't really explore its real potential.

The makers touched upon some of the important issues of society, such as untouchability and discrimination. Also, the film does talk about vendetta politics and violent propaganda that a few political parties run for their own good. These are very sensitive topics, and the attempt is very much Apriciaple.

Lost is a thriller film directed by aniruddha roy chowdhury.

See, this film has its politics at its right place but the path it chooses is quite cumbersome and laborious. The screenplay does not let you hook with the storyline. The characters are not interesting enough. The performances are great. Yami gautam, pankaj kapoor, rahul khanna are fabulous. Kaushik sen in a small role did a wonderful work. The cinematography is epic. Kolkata has always been a city of great mystery. The film establishes it through its narrow lanes quite well. The music is melodious. The commentary on caste and propaganda politics is loud and clear but it remains surface level until the last scene. It hampers the overall quality of the film. The investigation procedure could have been more crisp. This is a good film bogged down by its convoluted screenplay.

A slow, unexciting search

This is about a missing young man and a better title could have been " Missing " but I think there is another movie by this name. Nevertheless the movie is no great shakes despite having a potential for a gripping thriller. It remains a rather a slow and dreary piece of investigative TV journalism with Yami Gautam as a young TV journalist out to find out the whereabouts of a missing young college student who acts in plays critical of government policies. Everyone assumes he is kidnapped and probably killed. The sister and mother are distraught in his absence. Yami plays a determined and courageous journalist and follows lead after lead with no luck. She tries to fearlessly break through the politician cop nexus. She gets no help from her parents who are not too happy with the choice of her profession. Young Neil Bhoopalam on the other hand continuously expresses romantic interest in Yami but she is clearly too involved with the case. Yami however gets sympathy, encouragement, advice and endless cups of tea/ snacks from her doting grandfather Pankaj Kapur who is good as usual.

Director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury just could not make the movie exciting enough and there are a number of routine scenes one after another. (Totally unlike his previous film " Pink" which was very riveting.) Even Rahul Khanna handsome and sauve as ever as a street smart politician finds it difficult to make an impression inspite of some well written scenes.

Good performance and a bit stretched movie.

Lost is directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury. After Pink, he directed this thriller piece. The movie is a bit stretched, it feels like as if a short film is stretched to 2hrs movie. Well, you would get to see Kolkata, also sometimes you would get the flavour of Kahani but soul of two movies were so different that you would get bored while trying to compare. The movie has its politics and other aspects but not much engaging. Direction couldn't hold back the audience. The scenes were going so fast that couldn't be understood well.

In terms of performance, you would see Yami Gautam as the lead role gets into the skin of a crime reporter effortlessly. She always picks good scripts for sure. Beside Pankaj Kapoor played terrific.

You can watch it at your own risk.

Get Lost

All are in Dope I guess. Can't move fast or even have a single reaction . Madam is getting old but not married no expression like she had enough in life. Oh Madam this is movie do some chill acting atleast.

Story is simple a guy got missing and GF found a new love power and money. So true to real life and the search is done by journalist Our tired Madam and equally tierd parents.

Who mix the agenda or naxals with Dalits and a selfish GF with journalist searching or I wud say roaming around some streets of Kolkata just like a tourist

Pankaj kapoor cud be better bet then this tiered lady to act a journalist and crack the case after all he is Original Jasoos.

When will these BW Baba's will come out of Mulim Dalit naxal serious topics with a sleeping around GF

Who write these stories and a tierd Heroin.

Poor direction..

The plot was good to start but the direction was horrible. The scenes were changed so quickly that before you understand what happened yamini is at another place already. That doesn't let u get involved or understand the depth of the movie. All random characters r being bought in 1 by 1 without any relevance to the story line. With the plot they could have done a better job i feel. At least let the audience connect to the story. Understand the emotions behind a normal person getting lost. But I guess that s where it lost the plot. After 30 minutes u r left confused where it s going and what are they trying to achieve.

Great movie

Yami Gautam is my favorite actress because she is an acting queen who chooses fantastic films. In the Bollywood industry, Yami Gautam is underestimated as an actor. Nonetheless, the team's defeat is excellent for the plot. As always, Yami provided a magnificent performance, and the other actors were as skilled in their roles. In my opinion, the film was excellent. Yami exemplifies a beautiful and seductive woman. Therefore, neither her acting abilities nor her judgements can be assumed. On her shoulders, we may lay the whole burden. Popularity may be. I strongly recommend this movie to everyone.

Yami Gautam Shines in dissatisfied story....

Lost is a political thriller drama which makes you question about a lot of society problems and of course the government politics. Vidhi a journalist whose aim is to cover and know the story of a lost guy who's suddenly been missing with no reason. Movie sets it's tone from start gets gripping every minute and start questioning your mind with different situations and aspects of lots of political issues. But can a simple journalist make the questioning to the high sector like minister and big political name of India that still hard to believe. Story & Direction is on point but movie is very slow paced and sometimes it gets you bored because each character takes it's time rather to go on a fast note because story isn't unique or different as we've seen previous films based on this just had different perspectives. For ex. KAHAANI is the prime example of a thriller and this film will give you vibe of Kahaani film. YAMI GAUTAM shines in the whole movie and her performance is the only highlights of the film rest of the cast is good but could've been better. Screenplay could've been more tight as it is very slow paced with a slow story. It's an interesting story to follow but it's not everyone's cup of tea.....

The script, acting, and score are all outstanding. There is nothing extravagant about it. In this film, Yami Gautam succeeds in directing and acting. I like the film because I found it intriguing. The premise is fantastic, as is Yami Gautam's depiction of a malicious reporter. The story is well-written and intriguing, but also potentially dangerous since it blends the search for missing individuals with Naxalite connections and political intrigue. In my view, Yami Gautam's performance in this movie was outstanding. She handled herself with confidence and played the character well. As an actor, she has achieved fame. We strongly suggest that you read this.

I think the name of the movie should be The lost love .I got very disappointed when a Ankita leave his bf because of financial condition and got in a relationship where she can have a lots of money .I want to ask from girl why u get in relationship with a middle class boy after knowing that u are to going to dump that man at the end why u break the heart agar pyar karna hi h to direct rich guyz se karo ...change q karte ho . Boys never dump a girl if she had a financial problem rather he cares more why girls can't do . Middle class boy phir kisko gf bane jab sab ladke ko aamir ladka hi chahiye.

Bus timepass ke liye bf bana lete ho .I really got hurt by Ankita character where she was so simple girl who got in a relationship with a MLA .A mature girl can break her relationship for a money then what I will accept from other girl 😔

Not worth to watch.

The movie is not worth to write about 1 line but due to restrictions I have to write There is no motive justify inside movie, showing to much drama where actress think she will destroy politician and politician think he will kill her. Both ended up with nothing .

They are creating to much hype and nothing happened. I don't understand why actress grandfather went to talk to politician.

The end of the movie is not taking you to anywhere and you feel like cheated by the director. They stretch the movie to much and it not worth to spend time there. There are other good movies or better than this 3rd class movie.

PLEASE DO NOT WATCH.

Plot of the Movie

Ishan a theatre - street play actor gone missing & the story comes to the Vidhi Sahani the daring journalist & she is on a mission to find the "LOST" guy & what happens during the course of her journey forms the rest part of the movie.

Movie Analysis 1) If the movie Pink was against the women safety and freedom , here Aniruddha talks about the negative shade of the politics & so the parallel politics in his own way. Writer Shyamal Sengupta , & co writer director had just given again a reminder to the society when politics plays dirty games , even the wisest lost themselves which then becomes a helix kind of state for them.

2) Kolkata had always been the best places for the Bollywood thriller. Kahaani & now Lost, as it always takes the audience with the story & it makes us a feel that the protagonist is not just alone to solve the mission.

3) Yami Gautham had given cent percent justification to the role. Her anxiousness , her curiosity , her hunger to know the truth , Yami able to portray well at the right time which didn't made the audience feel over rated.

4) There was a romance but that doesn't overshadowed the main plot thereby not loosing the gravity of the same.

5) Pankaj Kapur, Rahul Khanna who were having a larger screen presence had given a notable performance.

6) One negative which I felt , after a certain point , the movie was not able to continue as they want so the screenplay was twisted around the protagonist which made little painful.

But overall, a decent thriller movie. Another notable movie in Yami's filmography.
