Strickland tells Pullman that DNA analysis of a blood sample showed a close match to Pullman herself. He says, "Something to do with a high incidence of STRS -- Short Tandem Repeats -- on the Y chromosome."
Women do not have Y chromosomes (they inherit their father's X chromosome), so they can't be matched to males based on anything in the Y chromosome.
