Lose your heart.......and your mind.

Clyde wins first prize in an art competition, his reward, his painting will hang in a gallery, he's also lucky enough to witness the unveiling of The Mona Lisa. The paintings start coming to life.

It's a good episode, definitely one of the more madcap adventures, and one where we finally see Sarah Jane and Luke's relationship tested somewhat.

Such a quirky story, there's definitely some imagination behind this story, the idea of The Mona Lisa coming to life, and causing mayhem in an art gallery is wonderful. Naturally, Suranne Jones excels as the angry subject.

What a cast, they pulled all the stops out for this one, I remember when this series was announced, this was the one I was excited about, Jeff Rawle and Suranne Jones.... Liza Sadovy was spot on as poor Miss Trupp.

Mona Lisa Smile

Review of both parts:

Great to have a guest starring role for the wonderful Suranne Jones, who appears in the Doctor Who episode The Doctor's Wife as the humanoid embodiment of the TARDIS. She is as marvelous as ever as are the regular cast.

The story involves the Mona Lisa coming to life as a malevolent but zany alien intent on releasing her destructive 'brother' from a hidden work of art. It is an OK plot but not all that convincing or sensible even by science fiction standards. It is fun, well acted, amusing with some excitement and menace.

The contrivances of the plot hold this back for me but I have to say that in the context it is not illogical and can be accepted.

My ratings: Both parts - 6.5/10.

Mona Lisa climbs out of the painting..?

Strange forces bring the Mona Lisa, on exhibit at an art gallery in London, to life. Luke, Clyde and Rani are at the gallery on a school trip as the Mona Lisa rampages with a Sontaran blaster, taken from another painting. Sarah comes to the rescue but ends up trapped in a painting. It's all down to Clyde, Rani and Luke to save the day as the Mona Lisa searches for her brother, the Abomination, hidden in another place in the art gallery.

Review of both parts -

Eh, I am not a big fan of the plot. The story isn't just interesting to grab the audience's attention. I have no words for this story, the story was okay, I guess.

K-9 finally made a comeback and saved the day and fired at Mona Lisa's brother, seemingly making her mad and wanting him back. The Mona Lisa would start to revert back into some kind of painting?

About the Mona Lisa, I admire the painting and Leonardo da Vinci making such an masterpiece who would be looked down by artists today.
