Have an Ice Day has a a decent crisis of the week, namely the spreading of ice all over Eureka which threatens a new ice age, so it begins well. We also have the return of Taggart - and emotionally he is the best part of this episode. His quirkiness and sense of genuine humanity, which seem odd even to his fellow-Eureka residents, has been missed for the last few episodes. Taggart and Carter make a terrific bonded-buddy-pair and it's great to have him back in town. On the negative side for this episode is Tess. Her screeching-harpy and self-absorbed reaction to how the crisis of the week affects her personal ability to lead Global Dynamic during Allison's maternity leave is void of entertainment or plot development. She is no replacement for Allison, albeit temporary - and she FEELS temporary, so her every forced and chemistryless interaction with Carter is just an exercise in viewer patience until she will go away. Bottom line, enjoy what you can and move on to the next episode.
