Not Terrible
cdjones719 January 2024
Interesting plot line with a few holes in it. Small cast because they're isolated in a snow storm. Dana Mackin as Molly turned in a very good performance. She was very believable. Zach Tinker as her brother Austin was also very credible. Hermoine Lynch as Victoria is one of the WORST, most campy and wooden performances I've seen in a present day film. It was no surprise that she couldn't convince the antagonist Charlie of her identity in an early scene. She couldn't convince an audience either. Not sure if she was cast as some kind of professional or personal favor, but I am fairly certain she didn't audition. Watchable for Kyle Butenhoff, Dana Mackin and Zach Tinker's performances.

Another movie bashing men
drdaviddurham11 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The abuse comes from.the wife NOT the husband. She is insane. Why in the world would the byline read he is abusive? Because in today's society, I suppose all masculinity is defined as such. Simply ridiculous. I did find the female character to be a believable psychopath and a murderer.

And the wife brings her nurse girlfriend into their home to assist her in the murder, and blames her husband for being unfaithful to her. A modern day millenial tale.

This is a story that gives a lesson for men to avoid modern women like these. The story takes a winding road into the unstable psychodynamics of two female murderers which makes for troubling but good entertainment.

What a mess!

Warning: Spoilers
The three reviews posted here are so vague and misleading that when I watched the whole movie it confirmed to me that the reviews were just all over the place.

I despised Molly and especially Victoria from the beginning. Even if allegedly Charlie had done what he had done, murdering him was way over the top. Watching the movie it was pretty much clear to me that Victoria was a total manipulator and control freak. I am sure it was her who put the idea to murder Charlie into her head. Molly came across as naïve and weak and easily manipulated.

Then there is Austin, Molly's brother who is the sensible guy and tries to save Molly from the horrific mess that she has been put into.

I did not like the ending the way Victoria just drives off, but I am hoping that with the cigarette that Austin stuffed into Charlie's mouth, the cops would eventually catch up with Victoria and throw the book at her. Or I would have liked a better ending like Molly killing Victoria as revenge for killing her brother, instead of killing herself by overdosing.

One other thing, I think the little flashback at the end involving Molly Austin and Charlie seemed very pointless to me. It did not answer any unanswered questions for me.

Mediocrity
shanksinha-386-2496529 February 2024
There has been a trend lately (Wilderness Et al ) to portray that women if wronged in some way, percieved or otherwise, have the right to take drastic steps including homicide against their partners/husbands. The justification is that it still is a male dominated society and they wouldn't get justice from the system. The mere fact that it is the woman doing the killing, is suppossed to make the act somewhat justified and the audience are expected to empathize. Movies like this diatribe, will be forced down out collective necks till theat perception is generally acceptable.

However, on the other hand this movie tells a simple story of an emotionally vulnerable and mentally unstable person manipulated by a twisted character to harm her family. A tragedy that is much common in society. The way it tries to portray it is offensive in spirit and mediocre in craft.

The heart is deceitful above all things

Warning: Spoilers
I liked it. It kept my attention from start to finish. That's not an easy task for a story that takes place in one location...in this event, in a house, and generally in the kitchen and living room. Also, only four characters. Yet it didn't get boring or drawn out. I was a little puzzled by Molly's apparent attempt to seduce her husband in the beginning of the movie. It wasn't clear if she was doing it to keep his mind off of her nervousness, or if she wanted to relieve her own stress. But it didn't seem to fit with someone that hated her husband and intended to kill him. I thought there was very good acting by all involved, and as a matter of believability, I think that there have probably been murders committed for lesser reasons than abuse. It was nicely paced, and seemed shorter than the running time. It wasn't extremely violent, or full of gore. .It was just another day in the life of a bad relationship. One with an unexpected, but not surprising ending. It's harder than it might seem, to commit an act like this, and retain your composure, or even your sanity. "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"

Definitely Worth Watching
artemisgibbs22 January 2024
All the reviews I read about this movie before watching it started out by saying "A woman wants to murder her abusive husband..." . However, just a few minutes into the film that plot made no sense when even after a night of drinking there was no sign of hubby being abusive at all. Only much later do we understand there is something wifey blames hubby for although the circumstances of the tragedy are only given passing reference. Some of the character development left us with a lot of questions as to motivation but overall this film was fun to watch, had one unexpected jump scare and 3 out of 4 quite sympathetic characters. I will reccomend it to my friends.
