(S3. E3) My Live Reaction / Review for True Blood Season 3 Episode 3 ''It Hurts Me Too''. Episode 2 was good and I gave it a rating of 8.6/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Nice to see Eric protecting Sookie. Tara is now sleeping with a vampire? Didnt see that coming. So Eric has a human protecting Sookie? At least I think he is human. How can a human protect Sookie from supernatural beings though? So Jason now thinks he can become a police officer? More dumb decisions from Jason, no surprise here. Eric gave Lafayette a new car? That's really cool. What's up with this new vampire, Franklin? What does he want? Wow what was this final scene? Did Bill have sex with Lorena or did he kill her? My rating is 9/10.

Too much...yet not enough

Sookie shoots at the werewolf, but Eric jumps in to take the bullet -- so he can save the werewolf's life and ask him who sent him. The wolf turns back into a man, Eric sees the mark of "Operation Werewolf", then he kills the guy.
Russell poses the $64,000.00 question to Bill: "If you love Sookie, why not turn her and spend Eternity together?" Bill's lame response that it's impossible is just that -- lame. And Russell responds perfectly: "You can't have both". That's what Bill doesn't get; and that's what makes the whole Bill-Sookie relationship so unsympathetic -- he wants something that's impossible the way he wants it, but he insists it's impossible to do it any other way. The combination makes him -- and him and Sookie -- insufferable.
Sam says goodbye to his birth parents and brother. Jason tells Hoyt he's going to be a cop. Tara and Sookie are the only ones to attend Eggs's funeral. Bill remembers his former wife/life in a dream in which Lorena advises him that the only way he can show his love to his ex-wife is to stay away forever. Jason dreams about taking the cop test. Alcide -- a werewolf -- comes to Sookie's and tells her that Eric sent him to protect her. Sam's family arrives at Merlotte's and is impressed. Bud has a meltdown after Hoyt discovers a headless dead body in a drainage ditch, and he quits. Bill pledges allegiance to His Majesty and renounces his allegiance to The Queen. His Majesty then says that there's no longer any need to harm Sookie. Lorena seems displeased; she tells His Majesty that he promised her that something would be done about Sookie. His Majesty tells Lorena that he shall keep his promise to Beeeel, not her. Eric goes to Lafayette's with a hot new car that he sells him for 1 dollar. Arlene tells Terry she's pregnant; but she doesn't tell him who's the daddy. Melinda, Joe Lee, & Tommy arrive unexpectedly at Merlotte's. Joe Lee gets drunk and Sam has to ask them to leave. Franklin arrives at Jessica's with the head of the truck driver (apparently he disposed of the body and threw it in the drainage ditch). Tommy breaks into Merlotte's. Alcide takes Sookie to Lou Pine's -- the oldest werewolf bar in Mississippi. (Lou Pine's is also a play on words -- lupine means pertaining to or resembling a wolf.) Sookie tries to get information on Beeel's whereabouts. Franklin glamours his way into Sookie's house where Tara is staying. And this episode ends as it began -- with someone (Lorena) telling Beeel the truth about his doomed relationship with Sookie that he refuses to hear.
As you can see from all of the above...there's lots of stuff going on in this episode. It's a bit of a paradox, then, that I found this episode rather boring. I guess it's a matter of quantity over quality. (Despite the fact that Lorena seems to have an unusually flexible neck.)
And I guess it could be argued that it would take at least 4 Jerry Springer shows to pack in all this trash.
