Doc Martin tries to get along and create a new life without Louisa.
planktonrules26 April 2015
When the episode begins, Louisa's been gone from Portwenn for many months. As a result, Martin is beginning to question his future and is considering going back to surgery and his life in the big city. However, this also brings an old flame, Dr. Montgomery, into his life--and he seriously suspects she might have been a serious misdiagnosis.

Additional plots involve Burt trying the dating scene--and is shocked at the first woman he dates. And, the chemist turns out to have a husband--and he's home from his job on an oil rig. He's practically stone deaf and Martin might just be able to help. The show ends on a shocker....but you'll need to see that for yourself.

This is another interesting and exciting episode of this enjoyable series. Well worth seeing and well written.

Doc Looks Out for a Lady
Hitchcoc16 February 2018
There are numerous events taking place in this episode. Burt starts looking for love. Doc, on the other hand, is forced to start a life which doesn't include Louisa. He begin to think about leaving Portwenn. A friend of Auntie Jane becomes ill with an abdominal condition. Doc Martin uncharacteristically goes with he in an ambulance (he has hurt his hand) and meets up with a former lover of his. She is a striking redhead. Every once in a while, Martin becomes heroic, and this is one of them.

Should have ended

As with most series, popularity strings out plots and requires writers to take the storyline beyond the planned framework. Dr. Montgomery is grating and never lends anything to the original specialness of the show. Red hair may be captivating in itself, but not all redheads are. Good advice to producers and sponsors: let the best and most well-loved series die a natural death earlier rather than later and leave the fans craving more rather than seeking shelter from atrocities such as the writers gave us in Doc Martin.
