Epic epic epic. Lust is an incredibly captivating villainess and this episode does her justice with a flaming showdown.

This is part of my review for every episode in the show.
I will just start with the few negatives I have for this episode. Nothing. Anyways this episode is a beatiful thrill ride. The episode maybe has too much humor, but it's impressive that you just completely forget about that as soon as the emotional climaxes start coming. The animation here is maybe the best I have ever seen. The music is actually so GOOD OML. This episode just makes me realize the characters in this show are actually perfect. They are the right blend of human and super-human. They feel pain and you feel them feeling it.
The ending confrontation is just perfect. Everything about it, the music, the animation, the character all combines to create the perfect scene.
10/10.

A Fitting End to a Beautifully Rendered Arc

This 4 episode arc is brilliantly plotted and contains some of the most clever dialogue writing I've seen in anime. The deliberate pacing of each new reveal was perfect for me, and the fact that the story still felt cohesive despite many of the main characters being in separate locations for the majority of the arc made it all the more impressive. Mustang was the star here, and got developed a great deal beyond his simple ambitious personality. The depiction of his masterful plan was flawless, and all the twists were truly effective due to the great writing and direction.
In this episode we get our first glimpse of the profound depth of his relationship with Riza Hawkeye, which obviously extends far beyond merely subordinate/commander. Al also gets some time in the limelight. The stability of his soul bonding being called into question gives some additional urgency to the brothers' quest outside of the homunculus/military coverup. The climax of the arc in the Third Laboratory with Lust was emotional and thoroughly satisfying. Voice acting from everyone was exceptional! The animation was vivid and visceral in a way we really hadn't seen in the show thus far, and frankly it yielded some of the most iconic shots in anime. Despite this I did feel the pacing of the episode was a bit rushed. Also the rather juvenile "Lust has big boobs" humor unfortunately diffused the rapidly building tension in one particular scene. I would much rather have seen her embody her titular trait through subtle innuendos and snarky dialogue like she did later on in the episode. Just another instance of poorly timed/executed gags breaking immersion for me.
So while this specific episode wasn't perfect for me, the arc as a whole was fantastic and shows how great FMAB can be. It displayed smart writing, authentic world-building, great character development, and continued to augment the underlying mystery and tension of the plot. 9/10 episode, 10/10 arc.

What a epic "fight" or murdering. This mini arc is by far the best, well made writing dialogs, great voice acting, and amazing animation.
Roy Mustang is one of the best characters of this anime hi burning Lust is amazing.

I get that people are excited at the defeat of Lust, but i think calling her downfall a "battle" is doing her dirty. If it all feels so high on the stakes, it's because from the first part of the episode, she utterly demolishes anyone that comes in her way. She's too smart to let Roy use his flames and wounds him and Havoc. And even when She falls, it's just a breath away from taking Mustang with her. This to say; That was a BATTLE of both wits and fierce. Not a "battle" like many of these reviews are saying. Anyway, fantastic episode, one of my favorite. I wish it kept more of the content of the manga, however. Like Envy's fight and Lust'extra lines, she's not just lascivous, she's the heart and glue of the homunculus family!
Absolutely epic
