I know I really shouldn't be surprised that last night's season finale of Fox's More to Love left me with feelings of shame and outrage (and a side serving of "Hey, dude got it right!"). After all, the opening montage of bachelor Luke's hometown visit kicked off with images of heifers lazily grazing in a field. Really, Fox? Really, you thought we wouldn't notice you trying to sneak random bovine imagery into your plus-sized dating show? (Insert purse-lipped head-shake here.) Anyhow, Luke's quartet of "meet the family" dates with Malissa (pictured, right) and Tali (left) -- his divorced parents appear to have come from two different planets, and therefore could not share screentime - were amusingly awkward. Luke's dad, of course, couldn't seem to make peace with the fact that Tali came from planet Israel, invoking Jesus' name before the meal and declaring "praise the lord and pass the potatoes...

After the final two curvy contestants visited Luke Conley's hometown of Santa Maria, Calif., met his family and broke bread one last time, More To Love's big-boned bachelor confirmed he'd found what came for -- someone to spend the rest of his life with -- when he popped the question to the 26-year-old fashion stylist/decorator/ aspiring model Tali on the season finale Tuesday. "I'm in love and ready to express that in the most profound way," the 26-year-old subcontractor and real estate investor explained on his way to the backyard of the mansion where all participants had lived. "This is the girl who I want to spend the rest of my life with. Tali is the type of woman who'll help me achieve all the goals I have." The raven-haired Israeli beauty arrived in a bejeweled watercolor print goddess gown, swearing in voiceover that she'd "never been...

"Three girls got tickets to paradise, but only two were allowed to stay on Tuesday's episode of More to Love. Grilled Cheese: Luke threw a welcome luau for his trio of potential wives when they landed in Hawaii. Malissa got the first date, swimming with dolphins at the Sea Life Park. Luke questioned her ability to commit and worried she was just 'in it to win it,' so he grilled her over a picnic. She seemed to tell him what he wanted to hear, swearing, “The crazy dates — I love them but I just want to hang out with you.” The interrogation continued at Benihana where they discovered they were both scared of rejection. Luke showed a little insecurity of his own since Malissa had never dated a man of his size. She retired to his room and tried to put him at ease on a petal-covered bed (a classic). He admitted,...

Each of the remaining women was surprised with a solo date and a family visit on Tuesday's episode of More To Love. Crash Course: After go-cart racing with Luke, Tali's aunt and uncle joined the duo for burgers and a reality check about her family. Her uncle warned that her traditional Israeli family may not accept him and that in his experience, he never feel like a good enough husband. The warnings certainly gave Luke pause and Tali worried that it would be an issue they couldn't overcome. It was a somber door drop-off with a very quick kiss. Cruising for a Bruising: While getting ready for her date, Mandy lost it when Malissa asked about her relationship with Luke. She accused Malissa of "f---ing with her." And whether she was attempting to get in her head or not, she smiled like the Cheshire Cat when Mandy started crying,...

Luke went on dates with his sexy six to determine who should continue in the race for his heart on Tuesday's More To Love. Love Triangle: At a salsa lesson, Mandy thought she'd be able to dance circles around Kristian, who "didn't want to jiggle around the dance floor like two pigs fighting under a blanket." But Kristian ended up impressing Luke with her effort and earned some alone time. Mandy (who later divulged her eating disorder secret) walked in on the pair kissing and locked herself in the restroom to cry. Luke talked her out, and they spent their solo session talking about how she was "shutting down" and "not feeling special." Flyover Date: Malissa scored a helicopter ride to a winery, where she and Luke went for a walk and made out between the vines. Then, an ill-fated tandem bike ride ended when "the fat kid broke the bike,...

More To Love's Luke told two more contenders to take off their rings after three mack-heavy dates and one cruel game. Truth Hurts: The claws came out when Luke asked the girls to judge each other in a game of good wife/bad wife. Lauren called Kristian "too emotionally unstable for a serious relationship" and Kristian labeled Malissa "high maintenance." Lauren didn't give anyone a good mark except Melissa -- perhaps she didn't consider her a threat. But the vote of confidence didn't save Melissa from getting the lowest rating for being too young and inexperienced to wed. She, of course, cried but it worked out in her favor as it earned her an alone date. Heather also got one for getting the highest marks. Mo-Rockin' Good Time: Luke took Melissa out for Moroccan cuisine to figure out why she scored the worst: When the skinny belly dancers walked in,...

After a formal and two solo dates, four more contenders had to return their rings on Tuesday's episode of More To Love. Tmi: Sounding a little like a stalker, Kristian wanted details on Luke's "every crevice of every muscle" from those who attended the pool party [1] before saying he's a guy she'd like to "put barbecue sauce on and eat like a pork chop." When Luke announced he was throwing the women a second-chance school dance, Melissa added dancing with a boy to her ever-growing list of things she's never done before -- and cried. Bonnie complained about the plus-sized sartorial options, but Luke provided frocks. They also got their hair, makeup and nails done. Prom Night: The redo was authentic with its goofy moves, balloon decorations and embarrassing dance circles. But unlike a traditional prom, one guy took 12 dates and there was legal alcohol to get them through the awkward moments.

More to Love main man Luke is really bringing them down big time, as four more women exit the Fox reality show this week, but not after pampering the remaining 12 remaining contestants big time, gowns, facials, hair and makeup, the works. Coming out of the dressing rooms, it's obvious the makeover had done well for the contestants, big smiles and all. Among those who said goodbye were Bonnie, Christina, Amanda, and Danielle.
The More to Love episode started off with Luke announcing that the women would all be going to the prom, which some of them had never experienced. During the big night, More to Love host Emme brought out Luke's college friends Chase and Sam, in charge of picking the queen of the prom who'd go on a one-on-one date with Luke. It's week two of More To Love and with all the tears, it's looking like More To Cry About. The claws came out on Tuesday's episode, feelings got more intense and big-n-tall bachelor Luke sent three more girls home. Size Matters: The contestants' heights and weights were gone from the screen but viewers were still reminded at every turn that that they're watching plus-size dating show. Every date has a very noticeable food component and the ladies' were shown cooking, eating, and talking about steaks, carbs and dessert. (Sure, they do dinner on The Bachelor but the meal isn't exactly highlighted.) The women endured a schoolyard pick for two group dates, which sent several into hysterics and left the uncalled woman feeling uwanted. Singled Out: But the humiliation had a happy ending -- Christina got the only alone date. Luke whisked her and her "bangin' body" away via private jet to Las Vegas.

[brightcoveplayer 31087970001] Best quote of the night: "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach and his pants, but you go for the stomach first because that's what classy women do." Luke Conley, a husky-but-happy 26-year-old, began his quest to find a plus-size life partner amid a contingent of curvy women on Tuesday's premiere of More To Love. (Read an interview with Luke. [1]) Fox promoted the uniqueness of its new dating show and it certainly had a fresh take. The most obvious was the fact that neither the Luke Conley nor his suitors had washboard abs. The emphasis placed on size was front and center with the contestants' heights and weights listed alongside age, hometown and occupation whenever their names were shown. It also got real dramatic real fast. Five girls cried in the first hour and unlike the popular princesses that populate The Bachelor, no less than four had never had a boyfriend.

In much the same way that I can't resist dipping into the blasted bowl of candy that sits on my colleague Annie Barrett's desk, I'm also a sucker for a good, old-fashioned (non VH1) reality dating show. (Once upon a time, I even endured that primetime special where Dr. Phil tried to set up a lovelorn Paula Abdul.) So I knew resistance was futile the first time I saw a promo for Fox's More to Love and found myself tearing up shocked that a guy whose only six pack sits in his fridge was going to be the center of a reality show from Mike "The Bachelor" Fleiss. Tonight, we met our self-proclaimed man of stature, Luke Conley, who revealed not only his age, height and weight (26, 6'3″, 330 lbs), but also his profession (real-estate investor), salary ("six-figure") and favorite food/most effortless double entendre ("anything thick and juicy"). More To Love's leading man Luke Conley, a 26-year-old real estate investor and sub-contractor from Santa Maria, Calif., gave People the skinny about participating in the first reality dating series for full-figured bachelors and bachelorettes. While Conley, who is 6'3" tall and weighs more than 300 lbs., couldn't reveal if a match was made, he spoke about his televised quest for love, which debuts Tuesday on Fox, and said he believes that it is possible to find romance on a reality show. "Stranger things have happened. I have an uncle who met his wife on a three-day cruise," he said.
