Little Couple, Huge Love
ItalianBombshell17 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
While in the hospital I found, TLC's,The Little Couple. I was in the ICU, struggling. Without boring anyone with the details of my life, I'll say that The Little Couple saved my life and kept me company while I was unable to have my own family by my side. The show is reality based, following the lives of Jennifer Arnold and Bill Klien. Dr. Arnold is a physician at Texas Children's Hospital, specializing in pediatrics and simulation development and education. Standing at a mere 3'2,Jennifer is a powerhouse of strength and charisma. It was during a marathon that included her cancer scare that I first discovered the show. William 'Bill' Klien is the CEO of Rocky's & Maggie's, a pet store in Texas. He is originally from New York, where he was a successful business man as well. Standing at just about 4'0, Bill is the loving, caring, sweet husband to Jen. Following the couple throughout their relationship, the ups, downs, and medical scares feels like going through it with family. Jen and Bill are extremely likable. It isn't difficult to overlook their stature-not that they want us to. Quite the contrary, they are proponents of education. They, hand and hand educate everyone, not only on their skeletal dysplasia, but on marriage, and finally, joyfully parenthood. Traveling around the world, twice, Jen and Bill have created their perfect little family. Will and Zoey are precious, precocious children that add happiness and genuine smiles to anyone's life. I'm incredibly invested in this show, crossing social media and having the opportunity to "chat" with Jen. We share a lot of the same career experiences, as well as both being mommas. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend watching this series. Just do it, you'll be happy you did.

Great family :)

Warning: Spoilers
I love watching this reality show. The little kid, Will, is SO adorable! He is such a helper, extremely smart, and overall a happy kid. I would love to hug him like a teddy bear! The new little girl, Zoey, is also very adorable! She is cute, and I like that she is finally warming up to her new parents.

Jen and Bill are such good people and a wonderful couple! They are fun and complement each other very well. I wish them both the best with their loving new children! Good luck! Get well soon Jen!

I recommend this show to anyone wanting to watch some good hearted people with their adorable kids.

Fin for awhile
cpehl27 September 2017
OK its fun for awhile but can't we broadcast a better picture of good parenting and good behavior? Just because you are famous doesn't give you the right to let your kids do whatever they want with no discipline. I am not talking about empty threats counting to 3, Im talking about making your kids hold your hand when taking a tour of someone elses property. You make Americans look worse than we already are. The tours in Scotland were insulting to good manners, I am surprised they didn't ask you to leave.this is a recurring theme with the kids disrupting conversations and doing whatever they want.

Living vicariously
donnajleo3 June 2015
It's as if I were a fly on the wall...that these Kleins are sharing their lives with the world at large is fabulous. I am not still married and had no children and it's really fun and a lot of smiles watching how Jen and Bill so bravely live and the kids are hilarious. As they come up against the things that might slow them down, the next thing they are living as joyously ( is that a word?) as they can. Will is a character and is a force of nature and he is lucky to have found these parents. Zoey is adorable and has a determination that is admirable and foretells a strong little girl. They seem to get along so well and it's really fun to watch them as they grow. Bill and Jen are some special people.

Unnecessary home video
noelcox18 May 2017
I make no apologies that this review will likely come across as harsh; it is meant to be.

Whilst this pointless "reality" TV show has generally glowing reviews, and a good overall IMDb rating, I find it frustrating and annoying. This is another of those unnecessary and febrile shows that the television world is inflicting on the increasing dumbed-down population.

There are many things which annoy me about this show, apart from its shear pointlessness - one of the most annoying is the children. Both of them are spoilt brats, and the parents seem to have no idea that they are raising self-entitled monsters. Where is the common sense in letting the brats get away with what they do get away with? Who benefits from unleashing on an unsuspecting world two more "Little Emperors"?

If you ever come across "The Little Couple", change the station before you get sucked into this trash.

Love this show!
Irishchatter2 November 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I love this show! Myself, my family and my granny love watching this whenever it's on! It is just such a sweet show! At first, I thought the show was scripted but as i kept watching more episodes, I didn't think that thought after all because they are such genuinely nice people who are so caring of their two adopted children and work very hard in their careers.

Jennifer is a very very well spoken person, she should be president of America as she really inspires people who have dwarfism and other disabilities. Bill is very sweet and laid back, he can be droll sometimes which is very funny. He definitely is the sense of humour guy. You have to love Will, he is such a cutie who would always smile and like Bill, he has gotten his sense of humor. Zoe is like such a doll although she is quite picky and very careful on who she deals with even for her age, she definitely knows what she likes and doesn't like!

If you want someone to cheer you up, tune into these folks, you would love them!

The Little Couple now seems to be about Will and Zoey with Bill and Jen in supporting roles!
Camargue7 October 2017
"The Little Couple" now seems about 95% about the children, with Bill and Jen (and their attempts at parenting) providing custodial roles! Even when a story line begins with Bill or Jen, it pivots to highlight the children, and the "problems" of parenting. (Perhaps the show needs a new title.)

The test of the Stein/Arnold parenting strategy will not be available for 20 years or so. We have no idea if cute little Will, and tiny adorable Zoey, will develop the character necessary to be happy, well-adjusted, productive human beings, given their unusual histories.

Both Will and Zoey were plucked from desperately poor situations (Will in China; Zoey in India) in crowded orphanages. With their physical limitations, it would be fair to assume their futures were not terribly bright in their native countries, and that they were probably headed toward very limited outcomes. But, with their being "chosen" by the adoption services that recommended them to Bill and Jen, the children can certainly be included in the (often times trite) adage of "winning life's lottery!" They are certainly extremely fortunate!

The heavily edited episodes of reality TV do not tell us what we are actually seeing; normal life for them, or just "cute" moments. Bill and Jen seem to PUSH their children into doing things they are not nearly old enough to do, so episodes may come across as trite, shallow, or just obnoxiously spoiled.

Example, banging away on piano keys as a 3 year old gives zero indication of interest; Jen should have waited until the children are at least 7 or so, with greater finger strength, and more verbal ability to understand and question what they are doing. Who can forget their TERRIBLE behavior at the Legoland New York display. (Just because Bill is "from there" does not give their family complete freedom to damage the exhibit! Millions of people are from New York City (including my own grandparents) but most do not claim special privileges at New York exhibits.)

Another example is that Bill should NOT have given Will access to a museum quality Scottish cannon to "knock around." Instead of being concerned about damaging the brass and copper plating on the historic cannon, Bill ONLY voiced concern that the cannon barrel didn't "land on Will's foot" and send him to an infirmary. (At that point, I would have welcomed ANY discipline toward Will, but there was none coming. Just the poor beleaguered Scottish guide imploring Will to "come over here.") Bill and his father were useless in minding Will's destructive behavior (or the obvious delight he takes in being destructive, which is certainly problematic).

The family went to lunch in Scotland and spent an inordinate amount of time insulting "haggis," as disgusting and Jen wouldn't even try it. Bill bragged about being "sophisticated" but still condemned it before tasting. (FYI, haggis tastes very much like our holiday stuffing, since it contains most of the same ingredients, but adds oatmeal as a filler instead of dried bread cubes.) It is usually served as a "side dish" to another "main" protein, such as baked chicken or turkey. It is delicious; I order it every time I'm in Scotland. Also, it will be a bit different wherever you order it since recipes vary. Just as your mother's stuffing is different than your MIL's, which is different from your neighbor's, which is different from a restaurant version! In fact, Bill told his dad it was much like liverwurst, which means his order had a lot of liver; some has more heart; while another has more onion, or celery; but it is ALL good.) They couldn't even be fair; they condemned it before they tried it, which is not a good lesson for the children. (Since Will eats like a garbage scow, I don't know why they didn't give it to him. He would have acknowledged that it tasted good.)

The "opportunities" that Will and Zoey engage in, remind me of our first "reality show" with Prince William and Prince Harry being allowed to do things that were not age appropriate because Lady Diana was able to arrange outings for her sons that other children would never be allowed to do. Did those "amazing opportunities" cause William and Harry to develop any happier or better off? Certainly they did nothing for William's bed wetting and nail chewing, or Harry's inappropriate behavior, ability to focus, or make sound decisions. Being treated "as more entitled" than other children is a mixed blessing.

Being allowed to do things that are not age appropriate can result in destructive behavior, which should be embarrassing to Bill and Jen, but she just gives a horse laugh and he says, "they're kids, what do you expect." (What we expect are for the adults to behave responsibly; to monitor and direct their children. Bill saying, "they're too fast for me" is a poor excuse for lazy (or absent) parenting.

The Stein/Arnold family will be able to give their children amazing opportunities; the world will be their oyster; I can't imagine any college turning them down, or any roadblocks or challenges not overcome. As far as their self-confidence, ability to self-motivate, or feel compassion for others . . . . that is the test.

Not good parenting
katluann21 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It is scary what I've read Bill and Jen say about how their kids treat camera men because they are just doing their jobs and don't deserve to be bullied by two spoiled brats under age of eight at the time! Jen proudly said her kids don't like the cameras and if a camera man gets in their way they say your in my way MOVE MOVE MOVE! Yes she said it three times! They think it's cute or funny! I call it RUDE!! Undisciplined spoiled kids and you can play the drinking game with how many times Bill says in Wills defense for whatever...insert offense, he's a three year old or for Zoey she's just two! Bill said his children are his best friends! People say no your a parent! He said I understand that but they are my best friends! That explains a lot! First day of school Jen tells will don't open those cookies or chips! Ok you can carry them but that's all so she's already compromised! Two sec later she says no I told you don't open! He puts out his hand and says stay away! At this point any one of my kids will testify I would have spanked that behind or legs with my hand. Good kids don't just happen. But no Jen says I don't want upset kids on first day of school! Why anyone would admire their parenting is crazy!

a favorite of mine
snperera21 February 2017
I love this show!! This show is so sweet and awesome and I love the family and I love the message it shows about the little people community. the kids in this show are so freaking adorable!! Omg! I love them so much! I love how this show shows that little people can do anything average sized people can do. I love that it shows all the struggles that regular families have but also the struggles and trials they have as being little people as well. I love seeing a sweet and pure show like this in the midst of all the trash that's on T.V.nowadays. This show will always be a favorite of mine because it's a feel good show and you see that the married couple really love each other and that they want the best for their children.

Love Bill & Jen
djjohnson-927637 August 2019
Love Bill & Jen I think they're amazing the kids , not so much. Just because they are little people and have and will have challenges in their life doesn't mean they should be spoiled rotten. Even children with mental deficiencies can be taught manners and good behavior The way the children act makes me think that they are both on the autism spectrum

Example of excellent parenting and healthy kids
lorenamcmanus14 December 2018
This is one of my favourite shows and I have very eclectic taste. These kids are not spoiled as some reviewers have suggested! They are adorable, smart, curious, loving and caring little ones who face great challenges in their life. Their parents raise them to face these challenges without any sense of becoming victims or as if they are different. No one knows the health challenges alone they may face just as Jen and Bill have faced. They bring laughter and joy to me every time I watch! The kids are so sweet and funny! It's a joy to watch!

Ready for more!
tlstaz654320 October 2019
My mother got me started watching this show. Love it! Ended up binge watching every episode I could find. These people are so genuine and down to earth. It makes me feel ashamed to ever struggle to do anything with the advantages I have...they have overcome so much and yet can work circles around me. There is nothing they can't do and they're raising their children to know that! Can't wait for more episodes!

Solid family living their dream life
krystal-miller-lw11 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Jen and Bill are an easy-going and fun-loving couple who were lucky enough to have the opportunity and grace to adopt these brilliant children.

While some negative Nancys here seem to think they are spoiled, they are actually given the advantages of individualize love and care. There is a saying about how your kids should never out number you. And with that put into practice you'd be amazed at how much love you can give!

I have watched this show since it's inception and I simply fell off the map while they had the kids, until season 13.

While the show is titled "the little couple" it is in fact a little family now. I bet producers knobbed that title around for a minute before ethey decided to keep it the same.

This show is for anyone looking to admire a great family doing great things and really basking in the love of their kids. They are progressive and open minded. They show emotional growth and Bill I'd an absolute softy, and that's okay 💕

Jen is a real business lady with fantastic bedside manner. And that laugh is contagious! She is clearly a pillar in her field and I admire her ambition to grow the educational side of her career and the growth of those around her in their field. Education never stops and she makes it easier.

The kids are an absolute joy. Watching the kids take in so many changes and really adapt well without aggressive outbursts, which is proof that Bill and Jen are phenomenal parents.

Both Zoey and Will are coming into their own now they moved back to FL. And the cultural saturation for the kids is amazing and super healthy for their psyche and growth. I know that if I were them I would be mad if my parents shut out any opportunities they or I had to learn about my heritage. So, they are enorminantly luck kids to land Bill and Jen as parents, because not only can they provide them with trips but also lucky enough to have local culture as well!

ST Pete is a great place to live and work, and it would be an absolute honor to meet anyone of them. Especially Bill's dad! He cries any time something truly adorable happens. He's a proud poppa and he loves every minute with his family.

This is a real heartfelt show with a great cast of characters and a fine platform to educate others in their lifestyles and adaptations as they go.
