Hugh Dillon: Constable Ed Lane
Quotes
-
Gregory Parker : What about the custody case?
Mike Scarlatti : Well, according to the clerk in family law, it was a "real nasty one."
Gregory Parker : And Donald lost the kids.
Mike Scarlatti : No. He won. He got full custody.
Ed Lane : Say it again?
Gregory Parker : He got custody?
Mike Scarlatti : Yeah.
Gregory Parker : His wife's stealing the kids.
Ed Lane : So this isn't about revenge on the lawyer.
Gregory Parker : This is about a parental abduction.
-
Gregory Parker : What would you do?
Ed Lane : What do you mean?
Gregory Parker : You and Sophie split up?
Ed Lane : It wouldn't happen.
Gregory Parker : Just say, you and Sophie split up, she wanted Clark - what would you do?
Ed Lane : Just like I said.
Gregory Parker : What?
Ed Lane : It wouldn't happen.
-
Ed Lane : [on radio] Wordy, when can we see into that closet?
Kevin 'Wordy' Wordsworth : Uh, three, four minutes.
Ed Lane : Excellent, two minutes, good.
Kevin 'Wordy' Wordsworth : Yeah, yeah, "fast is good." Thing is, silent drill's kind of slow.
-
Gregory Parker : We go in hard.
Ed Lane : [on radio] Okay, here's the plan: Sam, window entry; Leah, Wordy, through the door with me. Wordy, you're on ram. Leah, you're on D-D's.
Leah Kerns : I can do the window, Ed.
Ed Lane : What's that?
Leah Kerns : I've got a lot of experience on that. You know, burning buildings and all.
Ed Lane : Excuse me?
Leah Kerns : [sees Sam smiling and shaking his head at her] Right. Copy that. I'm on D-D's.
Ed Lane : Good. Questions. I'm on my way up. Get into position.
Leah Kerns : Guess that was a mistake?
Sam Braddock : [quoting what Ed told him when he was the rookie] When you're the democratically elected team leader, you get to make autocratic decisions.
-
Gregory Parker : [on radio to Leah who is in pursuit of Helen with her abducted children] Okay, we're on our way! Keep a distance; not to provoke her.
Ed Lane : Let's move.
Donald Mitchell : [in custody] Take me with you! I want to make sure they're all right!
Ed Lane : It's a little late in the game for that, Donald.
[turns around to see Parker]
Ed Lane : Oh, boss, come on, you're not going to take him.
Gregory Parker : Stressful situation for the kids. It might be good to have the other parent there. Come on, if it was your boy, what would you want?
Ed Lane : You talking about my boy or your boy?
-
Ed Lane : [as Parker approaches Helen who has her children and a gun] Boss, wait for the shield.
Gregory Parker : She thinks the system's against her, Ed. She needs to see some trust. But I know you got my back.
Ed Lane : [seriously] Greg...
Gregory Parker : Good, Eddie. I'm good.
-
Leah Kerns : [circling around Helen and her children] What does she think she's going to do?
Ed Lane : She's not thinking, that's the problem.
Kevin 'Wordy' Wordsworth : How do you reach a person who's gone primal mother bear?
Jules Callaghan : Through her cubs.
-
Ed Lane : When kids are involved, it's hard to see straight. It affects your judgment.
Gregory Parker : Yeah. Yeah, I hope like hell they get a second chance.
Ed Lane : I'm talking about you here, Greg.
Gregory Parker : What are you saying?
Ed Lane : You were thinking about your kid out there.
Gregory Parker : My choices were appropriate.
Ed Lane : Your choices were dangerous.
Gregory Parker : You know what, Eddie? All the calls have an element of risk.
Ed Lane : You want me to watch your back. Boss, this is me watching your back. I'm just saying.
