Fun To Watch
atlasmb28 October 2021
Tribute bands and musical impersonators compete in this show produced by Jimmy Fallon. Stephen Boss aka tWitch hosts this battle of groups and individuals who try to mimic the sounds and styles of their favorite artists.

Each episode features two acts who perform a song for the judges: Adam Lambert, Ester Dean, and Meghan Trainor. Afterwards, the judges offer their praise and criticism, suggesting training that might help each performer improve. After professional coaches work with the contestants, they return to the stage.

For their final performances, they alternate performing portions of songs by their artists. This allows the judges to compare them more easily, and it demonstrates mastery of multiple songs.

The quality of the show depends on the quality of the contestants. In the first two episodes, the performers are excellent. And the coaching does, in fact, improve the final performances.

Entertaining but could be better.

I'm a big music fan and this show really intrigued me. Just watched the first episode, and with the grand title of Battle of the Stadium rockers I had high hopes. U2, fair enough, although on the pop side. But Coldplay? No dissing the band, I really enjoy their music, but not a rock band, pop, AOR at best. I was thinking Kiss, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Queen, Rolling Stones etc. Surely there must be some decent cover bands of these guys out there? Just a side note, at the beginning, when the host asked Adam Lambert what it takes to get to stadium status,, what the heck does he know!!? His answer should have been, "Wait for the driving force behind one of the greatest rock bands of all time to die, then camp it up at the audition to replace him." And PS, I haven't agreed with any of the winners they have chosen after 6 episodes. Feels like they're going for popularity over talent.

Mediocre but kinda fun

If you like singing shows this one Is just ok. They need a new sound engineer. The commercials sound better than the show. Not sure where they are finding the cover "people" or bands 'cause some are good and some are just ok. Heck, cover bands in the Philippines sound better than most of these folks - just check YouTube. As another reviewer said, I rarely agree with the judges choice and have a sneaking suspicion they have an agenda. At least the judges are not as over the top as the dingbats on the Masked Singer.

Great show

It's a fun show and I like that it generally paints the cover band and tribute band industry in a positive light. I do wish that there was a Simon on the show, or at least tougher judging in general. But still a great show!

Cover bands are garbage

Producers of this show should be ashamed for glorifying cover bands. How many more real artists must compete with American Idols and Cover Bands when the real talent is creating original music. This is a horrible trend,

So entertaining!

It's crazy how much effort people put into their covers. Some entertainers look so similar and sound so real! It is amazing and very entertaining and definite worth a watch. It seems like they have a lot of different artists and genres lined up; so keep with it and those who are dissing the show need to be patient until those other big or rock n roll names come up.

Trashy Excruciating Mess

FYI ALL of the terrible performers on this trash TV show are from Legends in Concert who backed and produced it. Even the ones who lied and said they have never performed before have been for years in Legends shows. This was a sad embarrassment for the tribute performers on it and made them all look sad and crazy. I've seen better cover bands and impersonators at cheap weddings. Every person on this show only looked like the artist if they got punched in the face 65 times. The judges were paid a ton to pretend to act impressed and excited, obviously. Given the tanked ratings, it's pretty clear most of America is as disinterested as I was.
