"Dune: Part Two" continues to be the savior of the box office as director Denis Villeneuve's sci-fi sequel has just passed a major milestone. With a nice start to its fourth week in theaters, the film has now crossed the $500 million mark worldwide. The sequel had already surpassed the first "Dune" globally. Now the question is, just how much can Timothée Chalamet's return as Paul Atreides add to the bottom line? Quite a bit, if all goes well.
Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment's "Dune: Part Two" has now pulled in a grand total of $506.5 million at the global box office, as of Monday. That includes a solid $2.8 domestically on Monday, which was good enough to take the top spot for the day from "Kung Fu Panda 4," which has topped the charts for the past two weekends. So far, the "Dune: Part Two" total includes $207.5 million domestically and $299 million internationally.

Brian McConnachie, the Emmy-winning writer with the offbeat sense of humor who worked on Sctv Network and Saturday Night Live and appeared in Caddyshack and several films for Woody Allen, has died. He was 81.
McConnachie died Friday of complications from Parkinson’s disease in Venice, Florida, Michael Gerber, editor and publisher of The American Bystander, told The Hollywood Reporter. The duo relaunched the humor magazine in 2015 after McConnachie — an original staff member at National Lampoon — originally got it going in 1981.
“Every day, on every page, he has been our North Star,” Gerber said in a statement. “From his days at National Lampoon, Brian was ‘every comedy writer’s favorite comedy writer,’ crafting an unmistakable one-of-a-kind laid-back eccentricity that inspired generations.
“He is the only person I know who wrote for the Holy Trinity of Seventies Comedy — National Lampoon, SNL and Sctv. This speaks to not only his writing talent, but...

"We're all going to get eaten alive!" Yes, yes they probably will. Saban Films has revealed the trailer for an action horror movie called The Flood, another of these junky direct-to-video B-movie horror flicks that seem to be popping up all the time now. It's from the same bad filmmaker who also made Battle For Saipan, also with Casper Van Dien, who is back again for this one. A horde of giant hungry alligators is unleashed on a group of in-transit prisoners and their guards after a massive hurricane floods Louisiana. Yes, this is the alligators-in-a-prison movie, if anyone wants to watch. Starring Casper Van Dien, Nicky Whelan, Louis Mandylor, Devanny Pinn, Ryan Francis, Randy Wayne, and Kim DeLonghi. This does not seem worth anyone's time or money - steer clear of this one, folks. There are plenty of other better giant alligator / croc movies to watch instead: Sewer Gators,...

Set in 1978, The Tank opens with Ben getting some news about his deceased mother. It appears his father left her coastal property in Hobbit’s Bay Oregon that she never told anyone about. He also finds out that rather than dying in a car accident, his father and sister drowned in said bay. Of course, you or I know better than to go near something like that because it never ends well. Ben, of course, packs up his wife Jules and their daughter Reia (Zara Nausbaum; The Other Side of Heaven 2: Fire of Faith) and goes to check it out.
Writer/director Scott Walker does throw a switch at viewers by having the house actually look like it’s been abandoned for decades. Boarded up, weathered, and overgrown with vines and other vegetation on the outside,...

Ahead of the film’s release, Bloody Disgusting spoke with Walker and Taylor about bringing these creatures to life.
Walker explains where his throwback creature feature began, “It was during Covid when I wrote this, and I wanted it set in 1978 as a nod to a simpler time. That was about a year into Covid, and nobody knew what was going to happen. We had been displaced around the world,...

Writer/Director Scott Walker (The Frozen Ground) evokes the ’80s creature feature for his sophomore film, The Tank. A simple, self-contained premise serves as the foundation for a creature effects showcase. While unique creature design and effects by Weta Workshop make for a compelling centerpiece, the simplistic storytelling undermines it by undercutting the tension and stakes.
Ben (Matt Whelan) and his wife, Jules (Lucianne Buchanan), run a small but bustling pet shop that doubles as daughter Reia’s (Zara Nausbaum) playground. Jules’s extensive knowledge of animals might come in handy when Ben learns that he’s inherited coastal property that has sat uninhabited like a dark family secret for decades. As the family travels to the estate to investigate and explore Ben’s inheritance, they unwittingly wake a long-dormant threat that’s terrorized the land and Ben’s ancestors for generations.

"It's knows we're here." Well Go USA has revealed an official trailer for a new monster movie horror thriller titled The Tank, made by a New Zealand filmmaker named Scott Walker (who last directed The Frozen Ground in 2013). This will be arriving in US theaters at the end of April. After mysteriously inheriting an abandoned coastal property, Ben and his family accidentally unleash an ancient, long-dormant creature that terrorized the entire region—including his own ancestors—for generations. Starring Luciane Buchanan, Matthew Whelan, Zara Nausbaum, Regina Hegemann, Jack Barry, and Holly Shervey. The crew also features Crawl composer Max Aruj creating the score.
