News of her mother’s sudden passing takes her back home and to the even more shocking news that her mother has bequeathed the house to her. There are only two conditions: That she share the house and make peace with her estranged sisters, Caridad (Marielena Dávila) and Faith (Valentina Izarra).

Medellín-based Héroe Films, the production company behind Henry Rincón’s “The City of Wild Beasts,” an HBO Max-Outsider Pictures pickup for the U.S., is teaming with Panamanian director Arturo Montenegro’s Q Films (“Everybody Changes”) to produce Paloma Valencia feature debut, “El susurro del río” (“The Whisper of the River”).
Héroe is also partnering with Colombia and U.S.-based 36 Grados and Colombian director-producer Felipe Martínez’s Proyectil on “God Level,” a “City of Wild Beasts” TV series spin-off.
The company is furthermore preparing Henry Rincón’s third feature, prison drama “Hummingbird Heart,” conceived as a co-production with Europe.
Combining folklore with socio-political themes through magic realism, “The Whisper of the River” tells “a story about loss, resilience, and mainly about the loss of innocence,” in Colombian debutant director Valencia’s own words.

Global streamer Starzplay and L.A.-based Spanish-language streaming platform Pantaya have re-teamed with U.K. production-distribution giant Fremantle and the Larraín brothers’ Fabula on sci-fi miniseries “The Shelter” (“El Refugio”).
Starring Alberto Guerra (“La Jauria”) and Ana Claudia Talancón (“Como Caído del Cielo”) and directed by Argentina’s Pablo Fendrik (“El Ardor”), “The Shelter” wraps principal photography this week after 10 weeks of filming in rural areas around Santiago de Chile.
In industry terms, “The Shelter” forms part of a burgeoning axis between like-minded and complementary players in the U.S., Latin America and the U.K. who have been involved in some of the most exciting, relevant and artistically ambitious of recent Spanish-language dramas hitting screens or in the pipeline, whether “La Jauría,” “Señorita 89” – where all four companies partner – or “Express.”
The series captures Fendrik on tremendous TV form after making “Amongst Men” and “The Bronze Garden,” both for HBO Latin America.

Paola Suárez, producer of the breakout Argentine mob drama “La Chica que limpia,” died on Sunday after suddenly collapsing in Córdoba, Argentina, at the age of 41.
Her death comes just months after Fox gave a series greenlight in May to “The Cleaning Lady,” a U.S. version of “La Chica que limpia” created by Miranda Kwok, which is scheduled to bow as a midseason entry in the 2021-22 season. “La Muchacha que limpia,” a Mexican makeover produced by WarnerMedia Latin America and Btf Media, aired on HBO Latin America from June 25.
Sporting glasses and a huge grin, Suárez embodied the huge energies of a young generation of Latin American film producers who took Buenos Aires’ Ventana Sur by storm from its second edition in 2010, turning a sales market into an informal international co-production meet attracting thousands.

Fox is the final network to announce its plans for premiere week, and it's about what we expected.
9-1-1 Season 5 will start things off, with the show returning Monday, September 20.
The highly anticipated premiere finds Los Angeles facing a blackout as the first responders battle to keep everyone safe.
9-1-1: Lone Star, meanwhile, is being held until midseason.
Scott Foley ballet drama, The Big Leap, will air out of 9-1-1 in the fall.
Tuesday, September 21, marks the return of The Resident, which will lead into new drama series, Our Kind of People.
Previous Tuesday occupant, Prodigal Son, has been canceled.
The Masked Singer returns Wednesday, September 22 at 8/7c.
Alter Ego, a new unscripted series, follows in the 9/8c slot.
And, because one night of The Masked Singer and Alter Ego is not enough, both shows will be airing an additional episode each on Thursday, September 23.
Smackdown continues on Fridays,...

Last but never ever least, Fox — following The CW, CBS, ABC and NBC — has revealed its schedule for the Fall 2021 season, and lo and behold they’ve put together a traditional “Premiere Week.”
As previously reported, 9-1-1 is staying put on Mondays though offshoot Lone Star is being held for midseason. (Taking over Lone Star‘s cushy perch this fall will be the Scott Foley-fronted dance dramedy The Big Leap.)

Oliver Hudson has been tapped as a male lead opposite Elodie Yung in Fox’s new drama series The Cleaning Lady.
Hudson is joining as a new series regular in a recasting that involved a role redevelopment. He will play FBI Agent Garrett Miller, a newly created character that will replace FBI Special Agent Gavin Ross, the character played in the pilot by Vincent Piazza who has exited the project.
The Cleaning Lady, based on an Argentinian format, stars Yung as Thony, a whip-smart doctor who comes to the U.S. for a medical treatment to save her ailing son. But when the system fails and pushes her into hiding, she refuses to be beaten down and marginalized. Instead, she becomes a cleaning lady for the mob and starts playing the game by her own rules.

The Cleaning Lady is still sorting out its ensemble, tapping Oliver Hudson (Rules of Engagement) to join the cast as a series regular. He fills the show’s “FBI agent” void left by Vincent Piazza (Boardwalk Empire), who has exited the midseason drama for creative reasons.
Based on the Argentine series La Chica que Limpia, The Cleaning Lady centers on a whip-smart doctor (Marvel’s Daredevil‘s Élodie Yung) who comes to the U.S. for a medical treatment to save her ailing son. But when the system fails and pushes her into hiding, she refuses to be beaten down and marginalized.
