“There are a number of reasons why you may be tempted to watch Gulaab Gang. They include the fact that it is a women-oriented film; the powerful action sequences that have been displayed via the promos; as well as the fact that it brings two legends of Indian Cinema together for the first time. Starring Madhuri Dixit Nene and Juhi Chawla in the leading roles, Gulaab Gang did have some enjoyable moments, but it is ultimately a film that was not as exciting. It’s disappointing to have to report this, given that there is so much excitement surrounding this film in particular. I very much appreciate women-oriented films as they are integral in the shaping and development of Indian Cinema. Past contributors include Mother India (1957), Pakeezah (1972), Chandni (1989), Zubeidaa (2001) and Kahaani (2012). I really wanted Gulaab Gang to be on the list of the greatest women-oriented films of all time. However,...

May 12, 2010: Arshad Warsi donned the role of a producer recently and though his debut production ‘Hum Tum Aur Ghost’ didn’t quite set the box office on fire, the actor has moved on. While he is busy wrapping up his acting assignments like ‘Golmaal 3′ which would be followed by ‘Dhamaal 2′, he is also sure that for his debut directorial vehicle ‘Akkad’, he would be aiming at spending as much time as possible on getting the script perfect.
Judging by the confidence in his voice, one asks Arshad the obvious question around a high failure rate that Bollywood.

Arshad Warsi gears up for production No 2 that is an action-comedy which will have him playing four roles — as writer, producer, director and actor.Disappointed that Hum Tum Aur Ghost didn’t fare better?I’m disappointed with the way the critics ripped the film apart. Some of the reviews were like personal attacks. The audience, in comparison, was actually quite unbiased. The film didn’t do too well commercially in Mumbai may be because of the reviews, but up North and down South, it did reasonably well. Everybody has opinions and expresses them, that’s okay. She’s decided to become more choosy about the roles she plays. March 25, 2010: ‘Hum Tum Aur Ghost’ is all set for release this Friday and producer-actor Arshad Warsi has gone all out to ensure that the film gets adequate visibility and publicity. As he gets sets for another promotional event, we catch him for a quick tête-à-tête and try to get a picture of what really transpired between him and his favourite director Kabir Kaushik who had given him a wonderfully made ‘Seher’ a few years back.

To be honest, I had no idea what to expect when interviewing Arshad Warsi. Would he be funny, would he be energetic and give great answers, or would he be an one-sentence answer man? Well, it turns out he was fab! The interview got off to a great start with him saying, "I have never spoken so much in my life, but just pretend that I am the only one you are talking too and I will pretend you are the only one I have talked too", and it just kept going better from there! He was wonderful, funny, nice and totally excited about talking about his film, Hum Tum Aur Ghost. This is the first film for Arshad as a producer, the first film for his production company, and his first as a screenwriter. Oh and yeah, he plays the leading role, too. Sit back and enjoy as Arshad talks acting,...

'3 Idiots' might have gone on to become Hindi cinema's highest grosser till date with record collections of about Rs.400 crore (Rs.4 billion). But actor Boman Irani, who will be seen next in Shyam Benegal's 'Well Done Abba', says the movie still awaits its true test.'The euphoria of '3 Idiots' never died down. There's great value for it...(but) at this point of time it's a little premature. The true test of the movie is not how much money it makes, but whether after 10 years if people recall it as a reference point and in fun as part of their movie conversation,' Boman told Ians in a telephonic interview from Mumbai.'Very few movies remain in public memory as landmark films and I want to see whether '3 Idiots' will be up there with some of the wonderful films that have come out of this country.

Dia Mirza is a little perturbed that her latest offering, Hum Tum Aur Ghost is going to be released on March 26th just as Ipl begins to accelerate. “The reality is that the Ipl can potentially cause the biggest dent in my upcoming film’s business,” she confides, “The studio decides the release date and they are super confident about the film. I'm optimistic about the movie but fearful about its release timing. After all, the tickets we sell in theatres defines the success of our film.”
Dia’s co-star in the movie is Arshad Warsi and she seems awfully fond of him. "Arshad is a keen observer and seeker of talent,” she explains, “He told me some time ago that he thinks I am a sincere actor, having noticed the effort I put into every character I play. He also mentioned that he thought I have not been given my due,...
