Jack Bauer : I want to know who killed Renee Walker

Dana Walsh : [after he slaps her repeatedly] I can give you the hitter, the man behind him, all the way up to the top

President Allison Taylor : [Talking privately at CTU] I am so sorry about Agent Walker... I gather she meant a lot to you?
Jack Bauer : Yes ma'am
President Allison Taylor : Which makes what I'm about to ask so very, very hard

President Allison Taylor : [Sternly] I do not want you to question Dana Walsh
Jack Bauer : The information I can "extract" from Dana Walsh is not limited to the murder of Renee Walker, I believes she knows the names of the people who facilitated in the assassination of President Hassan: people working within the Russian government
President Allison Taylor : That is pure speculation
Jack Bauer : Then grant her immunity, let me question her. If she's lying, you lose nothing
President Allison Taylor : I'm sorry, I won't give Dana Walsh immunity... I can't. The peace process is back on track. Dalia Hassan will represent her country at the signing. The Russians have accepted her and have undertaken to support the treaty
Jack Bauer : The Russians have been trying to destroy the treaty, you can't trust them
President Allison Taylor : You don't know that
Jack Bauer : The information I have came from Sergei Bazhaev, I believe him. If you let me question Dana Walsh, I can prove it to you
President Allison Taylor : [Shakes her head] no I won't allow it
Jack Bauer : [Stands up, suspiciously] you don't want to know the truth
President Allison Taylor : What I want is to keep the Russians at the table: allegations of this sort will drive them away
Jack Bauer : [Insistently] what if the allegations are true?
President Allison Taylor : If I can keep the Russians at the table, I can bring peace to the part of the world that has known nothing but war for generations. "That" is the "greater good" that I'm working towards, to achieve it, there has to be sacrifice
Jack Bauer : With all due respect, these people who gave the nuclear weapons were willing to obliterate half of Manhattan
President Allison Taylor : You don't know that, I'm telling you: we have to move on. Even Hassan's widow has "picked up the torch" continuing the peace process
Jack Bauer : Does she know the Russians help murder her husband? Do you think she'd be willing to sign the treaty? Have you even told her?
President Allison Taylor : That's enough
Jack Bauer : [Raises his voice] have you told her?
President Allison Taylor : [Stands up and raises her voice] I said that's enough. This peace treaty is in the "interest" of the United States, and that of the world: that makes it a good in itself and certainly more important for your desire for revenge
Jack Bauer : I don't want revenge, I want justice
President Allison Taylor : And I want peace. If there were another way, I would take it but there's not: that's my decision. Do you understand?
President Allison Taylor : [When he doesn't respond] do you understand?
Jack Bauer : [Hesitantly] yes ma'am
President Allison Taylor : I've arranged a helicopter to fly you to Maguire Air Force base
Jack Bauer : You're locking me down?
President Allison Taylor : You'll be debriefed there, good bye... I'm sorry
