- Renee Walker: You think Cole is clean?
- Brian Hastings: I think he's telling the truth. But after this, I'm not sure I trust my own opinion. I thought I knew Dana Walsh.
- Renee Walker: [Talking privately] we've got a problem: Jack thinks someone inside CTU is working for the terrorists
- Chloe O'Brian: Why does he think that?
- Renee Walker: They must've been warned: that's why they changed Hassan to a different car
- Chloe O'Brian: Yeah that bothered me too, there's a satellite "glitch" that happened earlier
- Renee Walker: What "glitch"?
- Chloe O'Brian: The "glitch" that allowed the terrorists to get away in the first place: it's a little too "unlucky" especially for us
- Renee Walker: Jack recovered Tarin's cell phone from the crash. if someone did call him to tip him off, we can get the number from the memory. Jack's on his way back to CTU, he wants you to call him on a proprietary line so he can upload the data
- Chloe O'Brian: Alright
- Renee Walker: Go
- Jack Bauer: [while in an interrogation room] you said I was the one you wanted to talk to, why?
- Dana Walsh: Because you're the only one here who doesn't have his head up his own ass: so let's not waste any time, you want President Hassan? I can get him for you. I know where their taking him, I know what their planning to do
- Jack Bauer: What do you want?
- Dana Walsh: You know the drill: full immunity, clean record, and I want to be compensated
- Jack Bauer: Compensated?
- Dana Walsh: When you get these IRK agents, you're going to get your hands on their cash, and I want "my share". I lost a lot of money when this deal "went south"
- Jack Bauer: [Confused] you're telling me this was all about money?
- Dana Walsh: Isn't it always?
- Jack Bauer: I'm going to take this to the President, I need "proof" that you know something "worthwhile"
- Dana Walsh: Well, in about half an hour, you'll have all the "proof" you need: Hassan's head
- Jack Bauer: [Grabs her by the neck and holds her against the wall] you little bitch. Let me explain something to you: the only reason you've got any leverage right now is because President Hassan is alive... so stop screwing with me!
- Dana Walsh: They are going to force him to make a statement and then they're going to kill him: live over the internet. So I suggest we stop haggling and you start making this happen
- Jack Bauer: [Lets go of her neck] fine, I'll take this to the President. But you better understand, that we don't recover President Hassan alive, you get nothing
- Dana Walsh: It's why I asked for you: its part of the deal. You're going to handle this operation, Hassan is heavily protected, I need someone with your "experience" running the show. There's been enough screw ups for one day, don't you think?
- Jack Bauer: Earlier you said you lost a lot of money because the deal "went bad", who was suppose to pay you?
- Dana Walsh: [Avoiding his question] tic tock: your running out of time
- Samir Mehran: [after kidnapping Hassan] do you remember me? I was a young man when we first met: you were a General in the Revolutionary Guard, I had the 'honor" of briefing you of all of our operations in Abul Province. You were a great leader then
- Samir Mehran: [When Hassan doesn't respond, leans forward to look Hassan directly in the eyes] what happened? Why did you turn your back on our country?
- President Omar Hassan: It is you: you who has betrayed our country
- Samir Mehran: No, I'm "fighting" to keep us strong. You have chosen to surrender to the west
- President Omar Hassan: It's not "surrendering", it's an honorable peace that will strengthen our country... I do remember you. Do you remember the campaign we fought to secure the perimeter of Abul?
- Samir Mehran: Yes, I do
- President Omar Hassan: They said I was leading my men into defeat but we fought four long days. I believed in my heart that victory was possible and I was right. I'm not saying I'm never wrong but I believe just as strong in this peace agreement: all I'm asking is you put your faith in me once again. I implore you to stop this madness
- Samir Mehran: [after slapping him] the next thing you say will be an apology to every citizen in the IRK. You will beg for forgiveness, for your treason, and you will renounce the peace agreement
- President Omar Hassan: That will never happen, I'll never do that
- Samir Mehran: Oh, you will: it just depends how long it will take and how much pain you can endure
- Ethan Kanin: [When she visits him in the hospital] I'm still here
- President Allison Taylor: Are you going to be alright?
- Ethan Kanin: I'll let my doctors "feel" that one: their running tests
- President Allison Taylor: Good
- Ethan Kanin: What's the situation with Hassan? Is he safe?
- President Allison Taylor: They have him: the IRK agents have Hassan
- Ethan Kanin: Oh dear God, they're going to kill him
- President Allison Taylor: Not if CTU can get there in time. There's a rescue operation underway
- Ethan Kanin: They know where he is?
- President Allison Taylor: They will shortly. The terrorists had someone working for them inside CTU: an analyst named Dana Walsh I've agreed to a "conditional" immunity deal in exchange for her cooperation
- Ethan Kanin: [Confused] "conditional" on what?
- President Allison Taylor: Hassan's safe return. There's a "real possibility" Hassan won't survive this. I hate to even think about it but we have to be prepared. Is there any "chance" that the person who succeeds Hassan will be someone we can "deal" with?
- Ethan Kanin: The IRK's Constitution is vague when it comes to succession of power: there's no telling who'd take his place. Besides, Hassan was "barely" able to form a consensus in his own Administration. It took a man of his charisma, passion, to achieve that. I'm sorry to be so negative but we have to be realistic, without Hassan, there can be no peace
- Brian Hastings: I'm only telling you this because you're going to find out soon enough: Dana's been give "provisional" immunity by the President
- Cole Ortiz: [Surprised] what?
- Brian Hastings: She's providing us with intelligence as to the whereabouts of the people holding Hassan
- Cole Ortiz: [Angrily] I don't care what she's "providing", she's a traitor, and a murderer
- Brian Hastings: Cole...
- Cole Ortiz: You don't let her walk: not her
- Brian Hastings: Stop, I know you've been "burned", professional, personally... get over it. Jack Bauer's heading up the operation to rescue President Hassan, he wants you on his team but Dana is briefing the group: do you have a problem with that?
- Cole Ortiz: [after thinking it over] no sir, I'm fine
- Brian Hastings: [Before sliding his gun to him] good
- Jack Bauer: [Briefing the members of a TACT team] ok Cole, I want you and your team to take down the lookouts. I want coordinated kill shots and I want you to cover the perimeter as we move in: Charters, Banks, you're going to be with me. We're going to use audio surveillance to locate the apartment where their holding President Hassan. I want all of you to silence your weapons, it's the only way this operation is going to work is if we take these terrorists by surprise. If they get a "sense" we're moving in on them, President Hassan is dead. I don't have to tell you what we're up against and the significance of this operation, trust your training and let's get this done. Check your COMMS, we'll meet at the rally points in two minutes. Renee I need to talk to you
- Renee Walker: [Talking privately] what's wrong?
- Jack Bauer: I want you with me on the assault team
- Renee Walker: I thought you wanted me to run Ops?
- Jack Bauer: In order for this to work, I need every agent with experience but you need to under this goes against I have: you need to promise me you'll stay behind me and do exactly what I say
- Renee Walker: [Nods] ok
- Jack Bauer: No, I need you to promise me
- Renee Walker: I promise
- Jack Bauer: Get ready
- Dalia Hassan: I was told you found my husband?
- President Allison Taylor: His being held in an apartment building: CTU is "preparing" to go in after him
- Kayla Hassan: Do they know if his still alive?
- President Allison Taylor: We "believe" that he is but we can't be sure. We have our best men in the field and they're going to do everything they can to save your husband's life
- Dalia Hassan: But you cannot "guarantee" that he will be saved?
- President Allison Taylor: I'm afraid not but I assure you we're going to do "everything" we can
- President Allison Taylor: [Referring to the satellite feed, over the phone] I saw the crash, please tell me President Hassan survived?
- Brian Hastings: Actually, we just learned President Hassan wasn't in the vehicle
- President Allison Taylor: I don't understand
- Brian Hastings: During the pursuit, we believe he was switched to another car: we're trying to track it down
- President Allison Taylor: Then he's still alive?
- Brian Hastings: It "appears" so ma'am. If the terrorists wanted him dead, they would've killed him on site
- President Allison Taylor: They must have another "agenda", I don't even want to "speculate" on what that it "might" be
- Brian Hastings: We will keep you apprised
- President Allison Taylor: [Before hanging up] thank you
- Mikhail Novakovich: Thank you for seeing me, I know that you are very busy
- President Allison Taylor: It's alright, please sit down
- Mikhail Novakovich: Can I assume that there's a "change" in the status of President Hassan?
- President Allison Taylor: I'm afraid not
- Mikhail Novakovich: Then he is still being held by terrorists?
- President Allison Taylor: For now, yes
- Mikhail Novakovich: Are you "hopeful" that CTU can recover him?
- President Allison Taylor: We're following a lead now and yes we are very "hopeful"
- Mikhail Novakovich: What is the nature of the lead?
- President Allison Taylor: I'd rather not get into specifics: you will be told the second we know
- Mikhail Novakovich: I need to stress if President Hassan isn't recovered, his government will be in disarray: the peace agreement will have no chance of success
- President Allison Taylor: I'm aware of that... there's no point to speculate on a worst case scenario, we're not there yet
- Mikhail Novakovich: I just want to make our position clear: if Hassan dies, there is no agreement
- President Allison Taylor: If I didn't know better, I think you were "hoping" for that would happen?
- Mikhail Novakovich: Madam President...
- President Allison Taylor: [Sternly] you believe this treaty will weaken your "influence" in the region. Your country has been looking for any excuse to pull out
- Mikhail Novakovich: I realize you are under a great deal of pressure but there is no reason for these "baseless" accusations: my country has been more than supportive. We are "here", are we not?
- President Allison Taylor: Perhaps I spoke too harshly? I just don't need you to remind me how perilous the situation is. I do appreciate your support and I "hope" I can count on it when we find President Hassan
- Mikhail Novakovich: Of course
