- Jack Bauer: [Over the phone] look, I don't have a lot of time. I need you to listen to me very carefully
- Phil Holden: Go ahead
- Jack Bauer: There's an IRK splinter cell trying to smuggle weapons grade uranium into the city
- Phil Holden: Yeah, I just read the threat assessment: it says you've got a CTU team tracking it
- Jack Bauer: We did but we just lost them. CTU got hit with some electromagnetic pulse device: wiped out all of our visual and COMM. I want you to try and locate our hostiles with one of your satellites
- Phil Holden: We don't have any "birds" over the metro area. All aerial surveillance was being routed through CTU
- Jack Bauer: What about traffic cams?
- Phil Holden: I can try. Give me the hostiles' last location
- Jack Bauer: They got off the Williamsburg Bridge at the West Broadway Rollin Street exit. Their driving a grey SUV
- Phil Holden: I'll call you if I get a "hit"
- Jack Bauer: I also need you to shutdown all bridge and tunnel traffic into the city
- Brian Hastings: Agents Beck and Henderson will escort you back to the UN
- Dalia Hassan: First tell me what's going on?
- Brian Hastings: Agent Beck will brief you on the way. Once your there, we need you to do something for us. Your father gave us a file of IRK covert agents operating in this country, we need you to identify the men working with Tarin
- Dalia Hassan: I'm not doing anything until you tell me what's happening
- Brian Hastings: The car you drove here was "rigged" with an EMP device: it's a pulse weapon designed to disarm electronics, it's crashed all of our systems
- Dalia Hassan: I don't understand, Tarin put me in that car
- Dalia Hassan: He used you: he staged his escape, put you in that car and sent you back here
- Dalia Hassan: But he was shot, I saw him
- Brian Hastings: He is alive. We spotted him a few minutes ago. I know it's a lot to take in but you need to go with these agents back to the UN and start looking through those files. You've seen these terrorists, if you can help us to ID them, we stand a chance on finding them before they carry out their attack
- Frank Haynam: [after introducing each other and shaking hands] I understand you've been hit by an EMP?
- Brian Hastings: Yeah, that's right. I hope your here to help because we can damn well use it
- Frank Haynam: We are indeed, I have my best men with me: we can start by restoring your aerial surveillance and communications so where's your server room?
- Brian Hastings: It's downstairs, I'll let our maintenance team know you're here, you boys can put your heads together
- Frank Haynam: I prefer to work with my own people
- Brian Hastings: There's no one more familiar with this facility than my crew
- Frank Haynam: I was part of the group that designed this place, I can't say I'm thrilled what you've done to it
- Brian Hastings: How did you find out we were hit?
- Frank Haynam: Jack Bauer called our regional headquarters: told us your situation
- Brian Hastings: Bauer was pursuing the men behind this attack when we lost contact with him. Do you know where he is?
- Frank Haynam: [Shakes his head] NSA has been trying to call him back: his not answering, they're not sure why
- Brian Hastings: [Briefing CTU staff] alright listen up, this is Frank Haynam: senior engineer of the NSA's New York field office, now he and his team are going to help us restore aerial surveillance and communications so we can get back to tracking the nuclear rods. They also brought along a fresh batch of cell phones. Give them your full cooperation: whatever they need, make it happen. Now, we've been knocked down but I promise you, we are going to get back up, let's get to work
- Chloe O'Brian: [while in the server room] Mr. Hastings wanted me to make sure you have everything you need?
- Frank Haynam: [Dismissively] we're fine, thank you
- Chloe O'Brian: You're going in through the CLR processor?
- Frank Haynam: That's right: we're going to isolate the main server and create a brand new subnet
- Chloe O'Brian: Creating a brand new subnet? From scratch? That'll take forever
- Frank Haynam: [Irritated by her comments] thanks for your help, we'll take it from here
- Chloe O'Brian: Look, I think there's another way: I have been looking at the CTU schematics and why not tap directly into the trunk line?
- Frank Haynam: Because I'm not insane
- Chloe O'Brian: [Adamantly] we need to make sure those nuclear rods get into the city, what I'm suggesting will be a lot faster
- Frank Haynam: Yeah and it can make things a lot worse
- Chloe O'Brian: How could things be any worse?
- Frank Haynam: Reopening that trunk line without system buffers in place, you can cause an overload, wind up electrocuting yourself: not to mention starting a fire that can burn down half the building
- Chloe O'Brian: I'm aware of the risks. I think I can create a workaround
- Frank Haynam: You couldn't prevent an EMP taking out your operation, forgive me if I don't "bow" to your expertise
- Chloe O'Brian: If you could stop with the cheap insults and just listen to me...
- Frank Haynam: [Interrupts her] look, I'm not here to brainstorm, I'm here to clean up your mess. You need to leave... now
- Frank Haynam: [after she hesitates] I said now, I won't ask again
- Dana Walsh: I'm really sorry it took me this long to get back to you, I've been really busy
- Bill Prady: I know. They briefed me on what happened... terrible thing
- Dana Walsh: Yes, and I have some bad news because of it: the surveillance video you wanted has been erased by the EMP
- Bill Prady: Erased?
- Dana Walsh: Yes, everything in the building has been "fried"
- Bill Prady: Well, that's a damn shame. So what you're telling me whoever helped Kevin Wade with that robbery in the evidence lock up just caught a huge break?
- Dana Walsh: I'm afraid so
- Bill Prady: Are you sure it was "all" erased? Don't you have a backup system?
- Dana Walsh: Yes, we do but it's on site: like I told you, all the server's been "wiped clean." I know how much Kevin means to you. I really wish I could do more
- Bill Prady: Are you sure there's nothing else you tell me? Anything that would help me find Kevin?
- Dana Walsh: Believe me, I have told you everything I know
- Bill Prady: I'm sure you have
- Dana Walsh: I really have to get back to work: good luck finding Kevin, I hope his ok
- Bill Prady: Me too
- Chloe O'Brian: [after entering the server room, hands him a piece of paper] I think I found a way to deal with the safety "concerns" you had with my idea: here's the workaround
- Frank Haynam: I thought I made myself clear? We're not going anywhere near that trunk line
- Chloe O'Brian: I'm going to ask you one last time. We really need to do this my way: we have agents out in the field who are close to finding the nuclear rods and they need our help
- Frank Haynam: I'm going to ask you one last time: get out of here... get out or I'll call security
- Chloe O'Brian: [Points a gun at him, to his staff] you get out, now. All of you get out now
- Frank Haynam: Look, take a second to think, do you really want to do this?
- Chloe O'Brian: I don't want to hurt you, you're probably an OK guy when you're not at work and your wearing a wedding ring but I swear to God, if you don't leave this room right now, I will shoot you
- Chloe O'Brian: [Raises her voice] get out, go!
- Dana Walsh: What do you think you're doing by going to my boss?
- Bill Prady: My job
- Dana Walsh: I answered all of your questions: why won't you just leave?
- Bill Prady: I can't do that. I know you're involved in that robbery
- Dana Walsh: What?
- Bill Prady: I think you know exactly where Kevin is, I think your protecting him
- Dana Walsh: You are out of your mind
- Bill Prady: That you are a liar? I'm not leaving here until I know the "truth." It'll go a lot smoother for you if just "come clean" right now. It's not too late but I promise you if you don't, I'm going to nail your ass to the wall
