I appreciated the fine work of Leonardo de Filippis in each project of Saint Luke Productions . In this case, the one man show, so familiar, got new reflexes.
First, because the story of Jean Vianney is just special, a story of humbly and dedication , sacrifice and profound compassion, empathy and acceptance of sacrifices imposed by round vocation.
Second because it is not only chronicle of a life but portrait of a time.
And because the confrontation against Evil is more than inspired reflected.
Sure, some critics are easy to be created but this film proposes not exactly a lesson but a kicck, a real good one, to reflection.
The result, an useful story, maybe not only for Romano catholics.
