  Batman : [hearing groaning]  It's Kafka.

  Shrapnel : [emerging from the rubble]  Kafka is gone. There is only Shrapnel!

• OMAC : You got a lot of fight in you for a mutant scientist, but I never quit. I'm pure warrior, down to my bones.

  Shrapnel : [getting the better of him]  Brainless fool! You didn't just create Shrapnel; you brought this entire war upon yourself. The Global Peace Agency came to my country to stop a war, but destroyed an innocent village in the process. Crops, farmland, all gone. The farmers survived to try to rebuild, but I survived to get revenge!

  Batman : You okay, Buddy?

  Buddy : [taken aback]  Ahh!

  [relieved] 

  Buddy : Hey, Batman. Kind of embarrassed myself out there. Guess I'm never gonna be much more than a nobody janitor, huh?

  Batman : Deep inside you, there's a tough guy ready to break out. Literally.

  [hearing an explosion outside] 

  Batman : Shrapnel. You'll have to excuse me, Buddy.

  OMAC : [having changed identities]  Who's Buddy?

• Operative : Kafka's mission is to disrupt the balance of world power. If he is allowed to develop this rumored "organic transient metal", he would succeed.

  Operative : It's imperative we stop him. And because evidently you are incapable, we have assigned you a partner.

  Operative : [a janitor comes in]  Operative Blank, mop this up immediately.

  Buddy : Uh, yes, sir. Right away.

  [noticing Batman] 

  Buddy : Golly. Batman! Buddy Blank. Big, big fan. I...

  [moving to shake hands, he spills water on Batman's boots] 

  Buddy : Oh. Uh, I'm so stupid. Please, Batman, sir. Let... let me clean that for you. I...

  Batman : It's fine. Really.

• OMAC : He's still shooting pieces of his body.

  Batman : And he's not running out of ammo or losing body mass. How?

  OMAC : Let the doctors figure it out, after I put that scrap heap in the hospital.

  Batman : This time, it might not hurt to try a softer touch.

  OMAC : You're right. A softer touch wouldn't hurt, which is why I'm going in swinging, hard.

• OMAC : Secure the perimeter. Kafka's mine.

  Kafka : OMAC. As usual, the paragon of subtlety. How much collateral damage did you and the GPA cause this time?

  OMAC : Don't kid yourself. We preserve peace. It's you and that gray goop that'll hurt innocent people, if I let you.

  Kafka : This "goop" will level the playing field between your peace agency and my country.

• Batman : You said something about a partner?

  Operative : That was your partner.

  Batman : The janitor?

  Operative : Buddy Blank is the GPA's most valuable operative in the fight for world peace. That is, with a little help from Brother Eye.

  [he presses a button, and a satellite in orbit fires a beam into the building, which hits Buddy] 

  Operative : Allow us to introduce the perfect weapon. OMAC, the One-Man Army Corps.

  Operative : Enhanced strength, reflexes, and an endless array of instant upgrades available via Brother Eye.

  Operative : The transformation leaves him with no memory of Buddy Blank.

  OMAC : Let's bust some heads for peace.

• Batman : [surveying an army depot]  I've got something in my utility belt that should do the job.

  OMAC : Don't bother. Brother Eye, I need a little more juice in my jump.

  Brother Eye : [firing a laser beam]  As you wish, OMAC.

  OMAC : Yes! Hit me!

  [to Batman] 

  OMAC : Remote molecular rearrangement via satellite. Got that in your utility belt, bub?

• Kafka : Like a pit bull off the leash, you attack without thought, ready to leap at your master's command.

  OMAC : Brother Eye? Bring the rain!

  [getting hit with another laser beam] 

  OMAC : You should have given peace a chance.

• Batman : You know, not everything requires excessive force.

  OMAC : Hit hard or not at all, I always say.

  Batman : Words to live by.

• Buddy : Golly, Batman, you did it!

  Batman : Are you okay, Buddy?

  Buddy : [with a black eye]  I... I feel amazing. This nobody just took on a supervillain. Well, I bet that creep knows better than to mess with us again.

  Batman : If only that were true, Buddy. I'm afraid we haven't seen the worst of Equinox.

• OMAC : You're gonna take the whole place down and destroy us both.

  Shrapnel : Correction: it will destroy you, but I will become stronger than ever.

  OMAC : It ain't my style, but something tells me it's time to quit fighting back. Brother Eye, all power to shield defense.

• Equinox : [after his plan is foiled]  No. Not this way. Not now. Looks like your flapping wings have stirred up a hurricane that even I didn't foresee.

  Batman : You can't control my fate, Equinox. My life, mine to sacrifice.

  Equinox : I beg to differ.

  [healing him, Equinox then vanishes] 

  Buddy : [approachig in a radiation suit]  Batman? Let's get you out of here.

• Equinox : I'm not going to let you stop this meltdown.

  Batman : That might not be entirely your choice.

  Equinox : Don't be a fool. The radiation will destroy you.

  Buddy : [tackling him]  This time, Buddy Blank is not wussing out.

• Brother Eye : Are you certain this is the correct course of action?

  OMAC : Fighting Shrapnel only makes him stronger. Just keep those shields up, brother.

• Shrapnel : Now I ask you, why won't you give up?

  OMAC : Didn't you notice? I have.

  [getting punched] 

  OMAC : What's the matter, tin man? Running out of gas?

  Shrapnel : [OMAC blocks a punch]  What are you waiting for? Hit me.

  OMAC : All your strength comes from other people's energy. Looks like Batman's "softer touch" worked after all.
