Great piece of storytelling art. A conversation that can be hard to have, mixed in with a problem that is overlooked in many countries, This film gives you all of that.

Haunting short film

Make no mistake, this short is a heavy watch. It shows sex trafficking through the eyes of a new victim, Portia, who must learn to survive in a dark world where you are only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for you. The helplessness of the situation really comes through hard as the white mask removes traces of humanity . Will Portia ever escape this ordeal?

I can't say enough about this film. First, the storyline that was tackled is one that is long overdue that should be brought to the forefront. The writing of this film was excellent. As I watched this short film it made me want to see even more! I would recommend that everyone watch this movie. Congrats Shawntay, you did that!!

Very solid film tackling a very serious issue in our society. The acting in this is top notch, the writing and cinematography is on point too. Definitely check this one out asap.

An important story

This is an intelligent and well put together short film. All the cast are great but a special word has to go to the lead who did a really good job.

As an aside it's really important to highlight this particular subject matter, and the team here did a great job of doing just that.

Highly recommended from here in the UK.

I love this movie and can't wait to see what's next with this film. Shawntay Dalon is an amazing writer and even better actress. I follow her on social media and loves how dedicated she is to getting help for victims of Sex trafficking. I pray this film gets the recognition it deserves.

I absolutely loved the storyline! The actors gave just enough leaving us suspense for part 2. The seriousness of Booked brought forth awareness. It was short and straight to the point. Definitely, can't wait for the next one.

Important film

This film is about the important topic of sex trafficking worldwide. Shawantay Dalon is a really strong actor! Great Black cast which is awesome to see. I'm glad this project exists and hope it helps get the message out!

Eye Opening

Shawntay did an amazing job bringing to life each role of each actor. I was on the edge of the couch with so many emotions. I loved the strength portrayed. It's a must see and a main reason for me is because many times you don't know these things happen. Shawntay brought awareness to issues that could likely bound you if you are not careful.

Amazing Film and Story Line

This film was beautifully written to showcase the storyline of sex trafficking and the reality that happens to anyone but in this particular case, women who get trafficked. If the storyline wasn't enough, the acting and the constant cliffhangers throughout the movie is what keep viewers hooked and wanting more. Thank you for the insight and the reality of what happens in the real world with this film.

An Amazing Piece

There is such a difference between hearing about the sex trade and actually seeing it. Shawntay did a great job of depicting this situation believably, assisted by some excellent actors and a good director; thereby, helping to bring it to more people's attention. It's time to wake people up. Shawntay you are a crusader.

I just finished watching this film

I LOVED it. I didn't know what to expect and I am so happy I went into it without any expectations. It was so good, with wonderful actors and at the end when I realized what I just watched, I had to pause for a bit. The topic is something that needs to be discussed more because I feel like that was the first time it hit me. What a great film.

Nuanced and Beautiful

BOOKED explores the realities of exploitation. Brutal and complicated. The horror of the story is contrasted with vivid cinematography.

The strength of the film resides in Shawntay Dalon's screenplay that explores an interconnected web of exploitation targeting vulnerable women in America, particularly Black women. The recurring use of a white mask worn by both white and black characters is a constant reminder of the systemic causality linked to that exploitation and no one is untouched by its Horror.

The words of Sojourner Truth bookend the film with powerful resonance and the end credits outtake draws a chilling line connecting the extremity of the subject with a common interaction.

Strong performances on average with a visually expressive climax that shouldn't be missed.

I enjoyed the movie and can't wait for part 2... I really would like to know what happens next. Sex trafficking is a a money-making business that needs to be stopped.

This film showed how easily a young lady can be put into a situation where she taken.

This is an effective film with its message. It is short and to the point, while utilizing creative editing and camerawork. If you are looking for a powerful punch, this film is worth the watch.
