The Originals has found its Elena. Sort of.
Leah Pipes (Sorority Row, The Deep End) has been cast on The Vampire Diaries spinoff in the role of Camille, a human bartender who is also a psychology student and - as the result of a very personal trauma - is interested in learning if anyone can truly be born evil.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Camille will be drawn to Klaus... but unaware that her section of New Orleans is teeming with supernatural beings.
Pipes will appear on the spinoff's April 26 backdoor pilot episode of The Vampire Diaries Season 4.
She joins already-cast series regulars Daniella Pineda and Danielle Campbell (as witches named Sophie and Davina, respectively) and Charles Michael Davis (as Klaus' dangerous protege, Marcel).

"The Vampire Diaries" spin-off, "The Originals," has found its Elena -- but she's no blushing ingenue. "Sorority Row" actress Leah Pipes has landed the role of Camille, the show's only human lead, in the backdoor pilot, which will air as an episode of "Tvd" on April 25.
As we previously reported, Camille is a bartender who is fascinated by the question of whether people can be born bad. After an unimaginably tragic event in her family, Cami became a psychology student in order to study human behavior, in the hopes of proving that people can't just be "evil."
Her fixation on the subject might just help her bond with Klaus (Joseph Morgan), though Cami is unaware that her corner of New Orleans is crawling with supernatural beings who toe the line between good and evil.
Like Elena before her, Cami could find herself torn between two vampire brothers -- the ever-charming...

For the role of a new doctor at St. Ambrose hospital, Private Practice is going long. Matt Long, that is!
The actor (The Deep End, Jack & Bobby, Mad Men) will scrub in for multiple episode of the ABC drama this fall, TV Guide confirms, only revealing the character's profession and leaving viewers to wonder whether he'll be a love interest for an employee of Seaside Wellness.
Long had previously booked a role on the Shonda Rhimes pilot Gilded Lilys, a period piece that failed to earn a pickup on ABC this season.
Private Practice Season 6, meanwhile, will premiere on September 25. It's unclear when Long will make his debut.

FX has unveiled a third promo for American Horror Story: Asylum — and there are truly no words to describe it. Why? Well, because we have no clue what’s happening in the teaser!
It appears to be an overhead shot of a zipper-top tub filled with milky-hued water. In it, a body writhes around, face-down. But, again, that’s just our interpretation.

Maria Maggenti's 1995 film about teenage love is a romantic comedy of a different kind. Written in eight days and shot in 21, The Incredibly True Adventures of 2 Girls in Love is a standard lesbian rite-of-passage movie that is a favorite among many gay women, especially those who came of age in the mid-'90s.

There will be a change at the helm of USA Network’s hot new legal drama Suits, which was recently renewed for a second season. Sean Jablonski, who served as executive producer/showrunner for the first season, is leaving. He will be succeeded by the series’ creator Aaron Korsh who is being promoted from co-executive producer to executive producer and new showrunner. Jablonski was brought in for the series’ launch as Korsh had no producing experience and had only held staff writer jobs on 2 short-lived series, The Deep End and Notes From the Underbelly, before he created Suits. But during the first season, he impressed USA brass with his progress and has been deemed ready to take over the show next season. It is common for TV networks to bring in experienced showrunners for the initial order of a new series until the novice creators learn the ropes. CBS did...

USA has a good history with me, and apart from Fairly Legal, it is the home of some of my favorite shows. The network stands out to me, because they live up to their slogan, "Characters Welcome," by delivering shows that focus on putting out quality characters, and staying true to those characters no matter what the cost. Moreover, the idea that shows should be fun, whether they are comedy, drama, or something in between, also seems to guide the network as a whole, and while that might not rake in tons of awards, it makes for, I think, great television.
Coming to you tonight, June 23rd at 10/9c, the newest effort to hit the network is Suits, a legal show that focuses mainly on Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams).
Harvey is a hotshot, arrogant attorney at a major law firm in Manhattan.
