Earth Day is just around the corner, Thursday, in fact, and that makes now the perfect time to catch up with Josh Dorfman. You've probably heard of Dorfman, who's better known as The Lazy Environmentalist. He's really not that lazy, but for people just a little tired of being talked down to about going green, about how we're our own greatest threat, Dorfman makes the conversation more user-friendly and day-to-day applicable. He's done this in his blog, in his books, and also on his Sundance Channel show, The Lazy Environmentalist (TV), which will kick off its second season tonight, April 20, at 8:00pm Et/Pt. TVStar.com recently caught up with Dorfman for an exclusive interview during which he previewed the new season of his show, talked about his unlikely fame, and contemplated what he might do if the world went perfectly green and no longer needed his services. Reality television that makes us feel good is one thing (think: “Biggest Loser,” “Undercover Boss”). But reality TV that makes us want to do good is quite another. How does Josh Dorfman, host of reality series “The Lazy Environmentalist,” get away with it? He says the trick is to seem as blasé and, yes, lazy, as viewers.
Each week, Dorfman helps designers, athletes and other people green their routines. Not seeming preachy is the “biggest challenge on the show,” he said. “Part of what works is that I’m a lazy environmentalist. So if anyone is going to be made fun of — and a lot of poking fun happens — it’s me.”
In honor of Earth Week, and ahead of the second series premier on the Sundance Channel tomorrow, Dorfman gives the lazy environmentalists who read the Wall Street Journal, a few tips to help the environment:

TV Talk 'Documentary Tuesday' fans listen up, one of our favorite channels, Sundance, is premiering a terrific doc series "The Lazy Environmentalist" - hosted by Josh Dorfman. Join TV Talk host Shaun O'Mac and me on Tuesday at BlogTalkRadio as we discuss this new documentary which demonstrates living an environmentally-friendly existence can be easier than you think, and often times cheaper too. Simple things add up. Recycling all old t-shirts, diapers and cotton clothing as cut rags for housework and kitchen and garage clean-up, kept handy and organized in a container under the sink saves hundreds of dollars a year alone on foregoing purchasing paper towels. Also devoting one kitchen drawer to store cloth napkins to replace...
