It's all about the glasses. Those horn-rimmed glasses favored by Clive Owen's character in the FX series A Murder at the End of the World had me suspicious from the start. As a fan of Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij's The Oa, I was primed to expect anything, on any plane of existence, out of their new series. The Oa traversed between dimensions, brought the dead back to life, opened portals with modern dance, and gave sight to the blind. I wasn't about to get caught off-guard with what was seemingly just a murder mystery.

With its extravagant costumes and constant ruminations on love and marriage, The Buccaneers couldn't be further from a crime drama or murder mystery. The young women driving the action may be headstrong, free-spirit types, but they've been raised to bury their anger and paste a smile on their faces; no matter how much they chafe against those expectations, they're far more likely to follow that directive than they are to suddenly fly into a rage.
That said, there's one woman who not only deserves to act on decades of pent-up frustration, but should be free from any consequences: Mrs. St. George (Christina Hendricks), who's resigned herself to a life of cleaning up after her lying, cheating husband Tracy (Adam James).

Leave it to Jon Hamm to charm The Morning Show viewers into thinking a cruel billionaire could actually bring out the best in embattled Uba anchor Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston). Since their first hookup in Season 3, Episode 6, "The Stanford Student," Alex's relationship with tech titan Paul Marks (Hamm) has injected a dose of sexiness into a show that derives the bulk of its drama from real-life horrors. Their mutual attraction quickly turns into something more serious, as the two open up about their failed marriages and the excitement of finding a true partner in a fellow "divorced, workaholic, control freak."...

Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) is in the building again, only that building is now located in Boston, where we first met the snooty psychiatrist, not his hometown of Seattle, where he returned to lick his wounds post-divorce in his eponymous NBC series that ran from 1993 to 2004. He also has enough money to buy the building outright instead of dealing with a condo board, the result of hosting a mega-successful daytime talk show after moving to Chicago to pursue a relationship with Charlotte Connor (Laura Linney), who unceremoniously dumped him before the Paramount+ series, which premieres today, kicks off. Whew.

Bottom Dollar is no more. The scrappy porn publisher at the center of Starz’s Minx has been replaced with a shiny new conglomerate — Papadopoulos-Renetti Global — that puts Doug Renetti (Jake Johnson) back on top, and at odds with his former co-workers. It’s a not-so-surprising turn of events, as their publisher and one-time savior Constance Papadopoulos (Elizabeth Perkins) spent much of Season 2 shaking up the company structure and, by extension, the group dynamic. The billionaire widow may have seemed impressed by Joyce (Ophelia Lovibond) and Doug’s efforts, even taking the time to bestow praise and promotions on art director Richie (Oscar Montoya) and managing editor Tina (Idara Victor), but she was covertly planning a seismic overhaul of Bottom Dollar Publications.

Only Murders in the Building's Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez) is a woman at a crossroads. After two seasons spent living in her aunt's apartment, Mabel's time at the Arconia is coming to an end, leaving her unmoored and contemplating her next move as she approaches her 30th birthday. But if Season 3 is about the millennial crime-solver discovering her purpose, she's looking in all the wrong places. Rather than dragging Charles (Steve Martin) and Oliver (Martin Short) into yet another murder investigation, it's high time for Mabel to make some friends her own age.

John Cho is a man of many talents, a star in any and every genre he explores. He’s built to be a leading man, even making our list of actors who need to star in a romantic comedy. Yet, in examining Cho’s impressive acting resume, his three most recent TV roles all tap into one archetype— that of the cowboy. From playing an intergalactic bounty hunter in Cowboy Bebop, to a tortured traveler in The Afterparty, or even a hunky farmer in Praise Petey, Cho is proving himself to be the modern Western hero.

[Editor’s Note: This post contains spoilers for The Bear Season 2 episodes “Honeydew” and “Forks.”]
In its lovingly expanded second season, Christopher Storer’s The Bear dishes out work-related anxieties and existential crises once more, but its “chaos menu” also includes plenty of moments of quiet reflection and even happiness. Of course, the pressure is still very much on for Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), and the rest of the Original Beef team, as they attempt to turn a sandwich shop into an upscale dining establishment in just three months.

Rupert Mannion (Anthony Head) is the most blatantly bad person on Ted Lasso. He pops up only to cause conflict — it’s his indiscretions that lead to Ted (Jason Sudeikis) getting hired in the first place. Throughout the series we’ve seen Rupert sabotage his ex-wife Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) on more than one occasion and cheat on his new wife within months of their baby being born. Most recently, in Season 3, Episode 9, “La Locker Room Aux Folles,” he puts on his most evil smirk to try to derail Nate’s (Nick Mohammed) budding relationship by tempting him with a pair of hot models at a supposed “guy’s night.”...

Five episodes into Yellowjackets Season 2, the fate of Shauna's baby remains one of the show's biggest unanswered questions. Last season, viewers speculated that Shauna's baby was actually her lover, Adam Martin (Peter Gadiot), and while this theory is still in play, the timeline doesn't exactly add up, as Adam was slightly too old to have been born in 1997. Lynskey also dismissed the idea outright, calling it "the creepiest thing [she's] ever heard." She added, "Doesn't make any sense. Like why, what's the plan here?"...

In early 2021, things started to fall apart for Pheelz. That February, he released his debut EP, Hear Me Out, following nearly two decades of producing some of Afrobeats’ greatest hits. The EP was relatively successful, racking up millions of streams all around, but the process cost Pheelz a lot of money, leaving a huge dent in his finances.
Then, his girlfriend ended their five-year relationship, and his best friend of 15 years sent him a text one night, abruptly declaring their friendship over (for reasons Pheelz declines to expand on). “It...

Tighter national measures mean cinemagoers must be vaccinated or have proof of recovery from Covid-19.
As the Berlinale and European Film Market organisers continue to plan for physical events in February 2022, some German distributors are rearranging their schedules in reaction to further measures being brought in nationally to help curb the spread of Covid-19 in the country.
Constantin Film has postponed the release of three of its major upcoming titles: Caveman, starring Moritz Bleibtreu, due to open on December 23; Sönke Wortmann’s comedy sequel Der Nachname on January 20, and Anika Decker’s romantic Liebesdings, with Elyas M’Barek and Lucie Heinze,...
