Batman: The Brave and the Bold (TV Series)
Hail the Tornado Tyrant! (2009)
Diedrich Bader: Batman
Quotes
-
Red Tornado : You were correct, Batman. I should never have attempted this. Who am I to fathom the depths of human emotion, the nature of human existence?
Batman : I heard what you said back there, Red. You understand the human heart better than most. In fact, I think in seeking to make him human, you found your own humanity.
Red Tornado : Observation: you proceed from a false assumption. I offered no insights. I simply parroted that which I have read in books, seen in films, observed in all of you. I cannot grasp humanity. I am merely a machine. And so is he.
Batman : [watching him vaporize the pieces of Tornado Tyrant] You okay?
Red Tornado : Why would I not be?
Batman : Take care, Tornado.
Red Tornado : [wiping away a tear] Oily discharge. I must run an internal diagnostic.
-
Red Tornado : My internal radio scanner has intercepted a news report.
Batman : Trouble?
Red Tornado : Quite literally a major disaster.
-
Tornado Champion : Observation: you are reasonably useful for a biological life form.
Batman : Please, you'll make my head swell.
-
Red Tornado : Observation: I startled you.
Batman : Nobody startles me. I thought that was...
Red Tornado : A project of mine. One I have been working on for months.
[he unveils a miniature robot that resembles him]
Batman : It looks like you.
Red Tornado : Based upon my fundamental design, but with several significant upgrades.
Batman : So why am I here?
Red Tornado : As I am ready to initiate the activation protocols, I thought it would be best to have you on hand to verify the results.
Batman : You wanted to share this moment with a friend? Understood.
-
Batman : Champion, no! There's a difference between justice and revenge.
Tornado Champion : The difference is that revenge is more efficient.
Batman : The difference is morality.
Tornado Champion : Morality? I am above human morality.
-
Joker : [releasing a hot air balloon from the Jokermobile] You always said I was full of hot air, Batsy.
Batman , Green Arrow : Mine!
Green Arrow : [taking Joker down] I guess your car is pretty cool, you know, in a retro kind of way.
Batman : And your car's pretty impressive, too. Even if they don't make 'em like they used to.
Green Arrow : [hearing an alarm from a nearby bank] Catwoman?
Batman : No rest for the weary.
[he transforms the Batmobile into the Batplane and takes off]
Green Arrow : Well, Bats, I guess you beat me. Yeah, right.
[he turns his own car into a plane and follows]
Batman : This is never going to end, is it?
Green Arrow : I certainly hope not.
-
Red Tornado : If the experiment succeeds, I will have created a new generation that improves upon the previous one.
Batman : Improves how?
Red Tornado : Extrapolation: my Tornado Champion shall possess the one element I lack: emotion.
Batman : Creating life in a laboratory is a dangerous game.
Red Tornado : Observation: I have no delusions of perfection. I have installed a fail-safe switch that can instantly shut my son down should he malfunction.
Batman : Did you say "son"?
Red Tornado : Family is something we all long for, even a robot.
-
Batman : [thinking while pursuing the Jokermobile] The only thing more harrowing than taking down Joker is taking down Joker while he's behind the wheel of a car.
Joker : [cackling] Hope you don't find this too corny, Batman.
[he releases corn kernels, which blow up into giant pieces of popcorn]
Green Arrow : [blowing it up with trick arrows] Hey, maybe it's time you traded in that old hunk of junk.
Batman : [thinking] Green Arrow's juvenile need to compete never ceases to amaze me.
-
Tornado Tyrant : Father and Uncle Batman. How lovely to see you. But I'm afraid I'm in no mood for a family reunion.
Batman : That makes two of us.
-
Red Tornado : Observation: there are several serious software anomalies. But with time, I might be able to...
Batman : You saw what happened back there. It was a noble attempt, Red, but your son is too dangerous. You have to use the fail-safe.
Tornado Champion : Father, please don't do this to me.
Red Tornado : Observation: it is the logical solution.
[he activates the fail-safe and Champion powers down; after Tornado and Batman leave, Champion powers back up]
Tornado Champion : How fortunate that I removed the fail-safe device some time ago. And now, to perform some much-needed upgrades.
[the machines solder pieces onto him]
Tornado Tyrant : My father has made his choice. He stands with the disease called humanity. So the war begins, and the victory will belong to the Tornado Tyrant!
-
Red Tornado : Query: is there a reason you have been observing us all week?
Batman : Just wanted to see how Champion was doing.
Red Tornado : My son's emotional integration is going very well.
Batman : How can you be so sure?
Red Tornado : A parent knows these things.
