.Kiddets. is being developed as an official TV co-production under the treaty guidelines signed by New Zealand and China last year to explore as many opportunities as possible and forge closer ties with businesses in the two countries. .
The agreement enables approved projects to gain official co-production status and gives production houses access to funding and incentives in line with those for national films in each country.
Pukeko Pictures. chief executive, Clive Spink, said he was delighted that a year of hard work and many trips back and forth by both parties had led to this moment. .

ABC Commercial, the commercial arm of the public broadcaster has sold the second series of children’s show The WotWots, produced by the Nz-based Pukeko Pictures in to Singapore, Thai and Mongol regions as well as across the Australia Network.

ABC Commercial has sold the second series of the internationally successful children’s animation series, The WotWots (26 x 12’ HD) to various broadcasters in Asia and Australia. Thai PBS has picked up the series, along with Mediacorp Okto in Singapore, Mongol TV and Australia Network.
The WotWots is an enchanting pre-school series that follows the adventures of two adorable siblings from outer space, SpottyWot and DottyWot. This delightful pair of enquiring minds have come to Earth to explore and to marvel at the extraordinary diversity of life on the blue planet. The show celebrates this joy of discovery and demonstrates the positive values that are the building blocks of a true and enduring friendship.

The companies, which plan to work together on new scripted television series, have jointly hired former Atticus Entertainment executive Adam Fratto to head development of new television projects aimed at the global market.
He will work from FremantleMedia.s La office although the two companies are expected to tap into the vast resources of Weta Workshop, which has provided physical and digital effects for films such as Avatar, District 9 and The Adventures of Tintin.
While at Atticus Entertainment, Fratto spearheaded television, feature and new media development under a first-look deal with HBO. He is also co-executive producer of mystery series Haven, based on The Colorado Kid novel by Stephen King, airing on Syfy in the Us and more than 100 cable channels around the world.
