Mark Long had been pitching an idea for a spin-off of The Challenge called "The Challenge: We Want OGs" featuring old school cast members competing in a shorter season. This idea eventually got greenlit and became All Stars.
All Stars is the first season to stream exclusively on Paramount+. It is also the first season to air uncensored.
