I’m sure most diehard fans of horror are familiar with The Asylum Production Company: they are after all responsible for some of the most outrageous, cheesy, and unintentionally films to hit the tube. Need a refresher on some of their… unique offerings? How about flicks like Mega Piranha and Two-Headed Shark Attack, just for starters? #Holdyourbreath was directed by Jared Cohn who works from a script crafted by Geoff Meed. Katrina Bowden (Tucker & Dale vs. Evil), Randy Wayne (Ghost Town), Erin Marie Hogan (Paranormal Entity), Devanny Pinn (VIViD) and Gerald Webb (Zombie Apocalypse) star.

Let's start with the writers this time.
Jane Espenson wrote an article about Torchwood for BBC.co.uk that provides some info about the creative process behind Miracle Day. You can read it here.
Mark Verheiden tweets that he is back in the Falling Skies writers' room. Caprica co-creator & new Fs showrunner Remi Aubuchon confirms that Verheiden will be on staff for season two as a consulting producer. (Yes, Remi Aubuchon has joined Twitter.)
Race Bending has a fantastic new interview with Carmen Moore. She talks about Blackstone, playing Fidelia in Caprica, how she got cast in Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome (she will likely be a regular if B&C gets picked up) and some of her other projects, both old (Andromeda) and more recent (Two Indians Talking).

Also there was Jeff Kaufman, creator of the new graphic novel Terminal Alice, published by Big City Comics and centring on five female contract killers who find they each have a price on their head and must work together to find out who wants them dead. Pictured above at the launch are Resurrection Studios' Dave Stewart, Savannah Ostler, Gil Gerard and Jeff Kaufman.

2B Pictures, the banner of Blighty’s Future Film Group, is adapting Alan K. Baker’s novel Dyatlov Pass, based on the mysterious ski incident, for the big screen.
The film will be directed by Simon Fellows (Malice in Wonderland), following the true-life events that occurred on February 1959 in the Russia’s Urals, when nine experienced cross-country skiers mysteriously died.
Andy Briggs (Ghost Town) will adapt the script on Baker’s version of the event. The hiker’s deaths have already attracted much speculations being linked to paranormal activity or a military keeping secret.
The tent had been cut open from inside and counted footprints from eight or nine people in meter-deep snow. Though there was no sign of fight, two skiers had fractured skulls, two had broken ribs, one was missing her tongue and clothing belonging to them contained high levels of radiation. Authorities said the group died as...

Syfy's gearing up for its annual "31 Days of Halloween" by letting the wolf out of the bag, so to speak, with a clip from the October 9th premiere of Monster Wolf. As you may have deduced from just looking at the title, yes, it is indeed about a monster wolf.
A creature of ancient legend manifests, bound to protect the ecological balance of the land and killing anyone that threatens it. This elusive guardian is initially both feared and celebrated by the locals, but when a deadly curse affects them all, they must unite and recapture the monster wolf’s spirit or face their ultimate doom.
The creature is a monster wolf that kills to protect the planet from the scourge of filthy humans that desecrate and pollute it? If only that crazy anti-mankind environmentalist that took the Discovery Channel hostage a week ago could have lived to see this Syfy original!
