Stunt rider Axell Hodges will not participate in Sunday’s Evel Live 2 on History after severely injuring both ankles in a crash during training days before the event. The cable network said it has now revamped the format of the live show, which was to feature Hodges attempting to break a pair of world records. Evel Live 2 is still set to air Sunday beginning at 9 Pm Et/6 Pm Pt.
Hodges crashed in a jump while training to make the longest motorcycle jump in history, a record set by Robbie Maddison in 2011 of 378 feet, 9 inches. History said footage from the crash will air during the live show, which still will feature X Games champion Vicki Golden attempting to set a world record in a motorcycle firewall stunt by riding through 13 flaming wooden boards.

Evel Knievel “pretty much made his reputation by crashing,” Travis Pastrana told TheWrap, which is exactly what the “Nitro Circus” founder would like to avoid doing on Sunday when he re-creates three of the ’70s daredevil’s most iconic jumps live for the History channel.
On “Evel Live,” Pastrana will be riding an Indian Scout FTR750 V Twin, which has a similar setup to the bikes of Knievel’s era. Cool hog, but a terrible choice for this sort of thing.
“They’re just not meant for jumping really,” Pastrana said of the heavy motorcycle with a wide motor. “So you’ve got to be pretty spot-on on takeoff.”

One of the stunts Pastrana will attempt to stick is jumping the fountain at Caesar’s Palace, which ended in disaster for Knievel.

YouTube is adding to its portfolio of family-friendly Red originals alongside the prank maestro-turned-daily vlogger Roman Atwood, who has amassed more than 23 million subscribers across his two channels to date. While Atwood’s content has ignited controversy in the past -- including several prank videos in which he has pretended to murder his children -- the 34-year-old father of three has now abandoned his prank channel (10 million subscribers) and settled on family vlogs (13 million subscribers).
Roman Atwood’s Day Dreams will see Atwood, his family, and a team of volunteers staging extreme projects to make people’s wildest dreams come true, according to a release -- including creating a monster truck playground in his backyard and attempting a tricycle backflip at Nitro Circus. It sounds vaguely similar to Furze World Wonders, another family-friend YouTube Red series from backyard inventor Colin Furze, in which he puts his invention skills to good use to help other people.

If you haven't already heard someone suggest, "Let's go to Paris'. I wanna rob," then, sorry, we don't know where you've been for the past few months. The Sofia Coppola-directed film "The Bling Ring" opens nationally this weekend, and the film's infinitely quotable, meme-ready lines are like catnip to the selfie-snapping, celebrity-obsessed zeitgeist. Nitro Circus: The Movie Nitro Circus is a group of friends who routinely perform dangerous stunts for their own entertainment, and the roster includes folks with names like ‘Street Bike’ Tommy, ‘Special’ Greg Powell and Arron ‘Wheelz’ Fotheringham. They’re like the Jackass crew, but instead of stapling frogs to their nut sacks or seeing who can fart the biggest fireball these guys (and one gal) do actual stunts involving motorcycles, cars, modified Big Wheels and more. It’s a massive difference, because instead of wanting them to get hurt you’re wanting to see them succeed. They also truly appreciate each other before, durring and after the stunts as opposed to trying to humiliate each other on camera. This is a fun and suspenseful watch, but as a reminder Pick of the Week status...

Earlier this week Rockstar kept anxious fans happy by releasing a batch screenshots showing off a few of the transportation options we can expect to see in Grand Theft Auto V. They promised more were on the way and today they delivered with screens introducing us to more leisurely activities.
Anyone in the mood for some off-road action will appreciate the first screen, which actually gives us a look at another transportation option, the dirt bike. Next we get a look at the brighter side of town, where the recession doesn't seem to have much of an impact and finally there's the parachute. Now this is something I find myself very interested in. Did the guy jump out of plane? Will we be able to do that? Maybe he's been hanging out with the Nitro Circus and caught the base jumping bug? I'm sure we'll find out soon.

Even without Matt Damon, The Bourne Legacy easily debuted in first place this weekend ahead of Will Ferrell/Zach Galifianakis political comedy The Campaign and box office behemoth The Dark Knight Rises. Also, after a quiet mid-week start Hope Springs saw a nice jump in attendance over the weekend. The Top 12 grossed an estimated $133 million, which is off 7 percent from the same period last year.Reboot/spin-off The Bourne Legacy debuted to $38.1 million at 3,745 locations. That's a bit lower than recent Bond franchise reboot Casino Royale ($40.8 million) and is in between The Bourne Identity ($27.1 million) and The Bourne Supremacy ($52.5 million). Legacy's debut was off 45 percent from 2007's The Bourne Ultimatum (the last entry with Damon in the lead), and that decline is in between those for recent franchise reboots X-Men: First Class (off 53 percent from The Last Stand) and The Amazing Spider-Man (down 30 percent from Spider-Man 3 over its first...

August isn't starting off delivering megahits, but some generally acceptable results can be found if you squint as The Bourne Legacy didn't blow the doors off, The Campaign overperformed based on expectations and Hope Springs managed to wrangle in its target audience. Let's take a closer look at each and see what we find. Laremy predicted the #1 movie correctly 9 Weeks In A Row The Bourne Legacy The Bourne Identity opened with $27.1 million in 2002 when it was essentially an unknown quantity. In 2004 The Bourne Supremacy opened to $52.5 million and in 2007 the franchise was well-established and The Bourne Ultimatum opened with $69.2 million and made $227 million. Five years later Tony Gilroy and Universal have tried to start things over again with a new star in The Bourne Legacy and a $125 million budget and the audience seems a little wary.

After three weeks on top, The Dark Knight Rises is expected to give up first place at the box office this weekend to The Bourne Legacy. The reboot/spin-off of the popular action franchise is opening in 3,746 locations, and should earn at least $30 million over its first three days. Also in the running this weekend are Will Ferrell-Zach Galifianakis political comedy The Campaign (3,205 locations), Meryl Streep-Tommy Lee Jones romantic comedy Hope Springs (2,361 theaters), and extreme sports movie Nitro Circus the Movie 3D (800 venues). The Bourne franchise began in 2002, and is one of the rare series that actually earned more money at the domestic box office with each outing. The first movie debuted to $27.1 million, followed by $52.5 million for The Bourne Supremacy and $69.3 million for The Bourne Ultimatum, and the totals increased each time as well. They were also all well-reviewed, and remain fan favorites to this...

<< Continued from "'Bourne' Reboot Hopes to Extend Franchise's 'Legacy'"The Campaign is the latest in a string of successful Will Ferrell vehicles opening every other year in late Summer. It began with Anchorman in 2004 ($85.3 million), which was followed by Talladega Nights ($148.2 million), Step Brothers ($100.5 million) and The Other Guys ($119.2 million). All four of these movies opened to at least $28 million, though even with strong support from Hangover star Zach Galifianakis it could be tough for The Campaign to match that. Political comedies don't have a great track record, and previews have had a tough time generating many laughs (probably a result of having to hide the R-rated jokes). Also, this Summer has repeatedly proven that star power alone can't open a movie (see Rock of Ages, That's My Boy and The Watch), and Ferrell's young male audience is going to be torn between this and Bourne anyway. All these factors...

Title: Nitro Circus The Movie 3D Directors: Gregg Godfrey and Jeremy Rawle Years ago, our minds warped by the spectacle of Dennis Rodman, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Mickey Rourke appearing alongside tigers and exploding soda machines in Tsui Hark’s certifiably insane “Double Team,” a friend and I jointly speculated that Hollywood was on a path to ditching any semblance of narrative genre filmmaking and just releasing a movie called “Tricks and Stunts.” A feature-length indulgence of the same-named stunt spectacular, which used its MTV show in 2009 to spark a string of bestselling DVDs and, eventually, a live show in Las Vegas, “Nitro Circus The Movie 3D” is pretty much [ Read More ]...

Sports comedy Nitro Circus The Movie 3D is essentially a PG-13 X Games meets Jackass bringing back Travis Pastrana and his adrenaline-junkie pals. It was dated for August 10th until Universal put The Bourne Legacy against it. So Arc Entertainment and Godfrey Entertainment moved their pic to the 8th. Now, according to an insider, they’re “having some fun with Universal’s stupid attempt to tell audiences that you don’t need Matt Damon in a Bourne movie to be successful…” This is one pissed-off pic:...

From the MTV show "Nitro Circus" comes "Nitro Circus 3D." The TV show that went there with ridiculous stunts is now a 3-D film. In this exclusive clip, take a peak at one particular stunt involving an inner tube, a ramp and a human pyramid. We won't ruin it for you – and neither will the clip – because you have to see the film to know how it ends, but based on the inner tube's trajectory, it doesn't look good for the person in the middle of the pyramid.

If you're dying for a spoiler, check out the trailer. In it you'll see the conclusion of that scenario as well as a number death- and gravity-defying tricks from riding a bike from the top of one skyscraper and onto another to aerobatic car flips and crashes.
