I have a few problems with the very weak writing of this otherwise interesting story.
1. The older couple's goals were the same - to break up the younger couple. Then why did they keep fighting each other in the first half of the story, instead of working together? That makes the characters seem really stupid.
2. There is so little chemistry or likeability about the older couple that I don't really want them to get back together. I keep thinking that taking this second chance to restart a life without the other person is the right thing to do for them, and I keep praying for the girl to make the audition and go to Moskow.
3. That monologue at the end misses the point of the story entirely. Instead of being about "keeping the love alive", isn't the central message of this story about marriage being about the other person as well as you? That you need to consider the other person and do what they want from time to time, instead of making it all about you?
