EXACTLY like Deadly Mile High Club. Same story verbatim. Let's come up with new storylines, Lifetime.

"Don't call me. Don't text me."

Warning: Spoilers
The best line in the movie. I had a good laugh. I give Lifetime credit for changing things up with the race cars, but other than that, it was just an ok movie. I think Driven to Kill makes more sense than Wheels of Beauty as a title, but I digress. It's watchable but forgettable movie. The lead character, Brittany didn't have much of a personality (the scene where she accuses her bf of cheating was kinda cringe). She didn't seem particularly passionate about anything. Not her relationship and not even the racing. Outside of knowing what happened to her father (not a spoiler), I don't remember the movie saying what happened to her mom? I realize the budget may not have allowed for it, but it didn't seem like there were enough characters in this movie. A fairly empty B&B...an empty racetrack...neither Brittany or Kevin really had any friends but had all those people at the end celebrating them...this seemed like one of those low effort churn and burn movies.

By far, the worst part was how *******'s death was treated. No service and no dedication to any of the characters' emotions about it....it's just glossed over. Why even have this character? A certain character is a huge jerk about it too, completely disregarding feelings and just being so rude about it. They totally deserved the line used in my title. Then there was Kevin's ex who really served no purpose. I think a best friend or a sibling would have been better. As for the villain, it's one thing to have a career-halting injury, but his behavior and obsession only barely made sense. One would think that channeling his knowledge and skills into a new driver would help him cope with the loss of his career, but the other stuff he did the movie didn't need in my opinion. The movie also made it seem like she was his only student so it wasn't clear why he obsessed over her unless it was because she was the only one there.

The movie is good for passing time for one viewing. It's more of a filler movie in between Lifetime's bigger premieres, but there's nothing glaringly stupid or annoying, which is appreciated.

Another stupid Lifetime movie

Warning: Spoilers
No continuity. A young woman dreams if racing and takes lessons from a former race car driver who has issues. When another driver gives her a lesson, he goes faster and doesn't slow down when he sees the car is having problems, not plausible. Brittney heals real fast after the accident and there is no mention of a memorial for Mario. Then Andrew causes problems with Kevin and Brittney. And when that doesn't work he kills her bf mom. She breaks up with her bf cause he wants to keep the bnb. She immediately turns to Andrew. She gets into a race without any experience?.Not plausible. Drivers need to work up the ladder to drive in a large race. Stupid. If anything if she really loved Kevin they should have been closer to him when his mom was killed. Kevin's x girlfriend dresses like she is working the streets. When she visits Kevin to tell him about her car. The only correct thing is that Kevin starts putting 2 & 2 together. Brittney needs to wake up. Just watched to see how it ends.

Check my eye liner and lipstick...

Not especially believable. Didn't watch it much beyond that. Literally, she'd be sweating gallons driving such powerful machinery, especially if she is not conditioned for it. 'Did my mascara run?' Anyway, props for the effort, I suppose.

A laugh riot all the way to the finish line!

Every now and again Lifetime surprises with movies that are astonishingly earnest, heartfelt, and worthy. Failing that, sometimes a Lifetime original will manage to be unexpectedly fun - rife with an unmistakable lack of nuance, but with just enough solid writing, acting, or otherwise craft to be noteworthy. 'Driven to kill,' also known as 'Wheels of beauty,' does not fall into either of these categories. This is something else entirely: a picture so unbelievably blunt, forthright, contrived, full of tropes, and over the top that it becomes delightfully enjoyable because, purposefully or not, it's hilarious.

It's not enough to say 'Driven to kill' lacks subtlety - it wholeheartedly rejects it, in every possible way. In the brusque and straightforward editing, and the plainspoken direction. In the thin and flat characters, wholly ridiculous dialogue, predictable narrative thrust, and ham-handed scene writing. In most every shot, and the arrangement of each scene, not least of all where there's an opportunity to emphasize the lead character's femininity and or physical appearance. In the performances, especially those of Shelby Yardley as she leans into the preposterous naivete of protagonist Brittany, and Philip Boyd as antagonist Andrew, violently mercurial. In the lighting, set design and decoration, costume design, unrealistically impeccable makeup, camerawork (including aerials), and all else. Truth be told, when all is said and done - 'Driven to kill' is so completely curt and candid that it's impossible to swallow the notion that the movie's construction could be anything other than a cheeky, conscious decision. And, oh, how I appreciate that slant.

I've said it before, and I'll gladly say it again for it most certainly applies here: Lifetime thrillers are to drama as B-movies are to horror. It's a subgenre that's built on playful, irreverent, tactless consideration of any possible story idea, and that totally leans into its approach. And that's the key - consider this as a sincere, serious piece of cinema, and of course it's utter nonsense, deserving of the greatest derision. Enter with an open mind, and or the presupposition of what Lifetime can sometimes achieve - well, then just sit back, relax, and laugh away your cares with an incredible joy ride (pun fully intended).

Provided one is on board with the calculated indelicacies and inelegance, from beginning to end, this is robustly funny and entertaining. I'd have no qualms about recommending it to just about anyone - it's just that much of a good time. I could easily write more or provide examples, but I don't want to risk betraying any foreknowledge. All I can say is that if you're receptive to films of any genre that are unabashedly flippant and impudent in their audacious disdain for storytelling convention, then 'Driven to kill' needs to be at the front of the pack for your watch list.

Two cheerfully bemused thumbs up!

Not bad for Lifetime

I don't know why some people are crticising the technical aspects of the movie. It's a movie for crying out loud. Yes there were similarities between this and. Deadly Mile High Club. But in this one neither of them cheated on each other. Psycho kissed her and Kevin's ex gave him a peck on the cheek. Overall I enjoyed this one.
