When an anomaly opens Sir Richard Bentley's luxury apartment his assistant mistakes it for a piece of modern art; that is until he falls through it and finds himself in another time period. He isn't there long when he is contaminated by a strange spore. He staggers back through the anomaly coughs up some spores before falling back through; the anomaly then closes. When Sir Richard returns he is contaminated but has no idea that he is in danger so sets off to catch a train. Meanwhile back at the ARC Danny has broken in and the anomaly detector was off line; once fixed they find the anomaly and return with a spore sample. This then contaminates one of Christine Johnson's men as he snoops around the ARC. Soon afterwards he turns into a strange creature. Danny joins the team hunting Sir Richard, who has now similarly changed, while Connor works to find a way to deal with it. Ultimately both Connor and Jenny will be in great danger.
This was a solid episode; the idea of deadly spores was interesting and the way they were introduced was nicely reminiscent of how the menace was first introduced in 'Alien'. The later scenes where the team hunt the changed Sir Richard with flamethrowers was another reminder of 'Alien'. Sir Richard was very unsympathetic so it is unlikely any viewers will be bothered by what happens to him. The same can't be said of Connor and Jenny so the scenes where they are threatened were particularly tense. I liked how Danny became part of the team even if his final official appointment was somewhat spoilt by Jason Flemyng's prominent position in the cast list during the opening. He does a fine job in the role and I see his character being a welcome addition to the team. Overall this was an enjoyable episode that was scary without being too frightening and has some amusing moments.
