It's not that bad what people have narrated here on IMDB or other places

Firstly yes it's a copy of some English film but I don't see any harm as everyone doesn't see English movies

Secondly the biggest mistake that it was released in theatre as this was purely a ott flick or would be better if they could had made this content in short series

Tapsee was good and gave her best ...it's a good low budget movie with new content and is worth if ticket prices are offered at lower prices

The drive of boycotting is very strong From day one the perception was created to make this film super flop succeeded.

A thick plot for a sad story

The concept of a parallel universe to meet a child you saved is kind of funny ngl. Did I like the plot? Yes. To the end tho? Not so much. The ending could've been better, so much running and chasing for just a love story is not the most iconic thing to do with a concept like this. Also the guy should've told the kid where the body is instead of telling him not to chase the girl he saw on TV, like that's where you ruined it all. Y'all really didn't think we were gonna notice that she called the kid "beta" and then the next she was married to him. 👀 be fr

Also, hopefully there will be no sequels. If there is don't attach it to a love story.

We all know where most of these reviews are coming from. Anyhow, the acting is great, plot is great. Cinematography is great. Screenplay could have been better. Ending disappointed me a bit.

And watch the original Spanish version if you have to. Really bad actors in the hindi version and the sets look tacky. Story drags on insulting the iq of the viewer.

I don't know what is wrong with so many negative reviews... it's actually a beautifully scripted movie for the average desi audience.

The concept was adapted from one of my all-time favourite Hollywood movies - "Frequency" (and later, the Spanish movie, "Mirage")

But I honestly did admire how it was adapted in the Bollywood style. And Taapsee being in it made it more watchable 'coz I'm quite a fan :)

Go slow, keep an open mind and make sense of it... the movie does require brains - it's not just a random entertainment/masala film.

And yes, if you question it from a quantum relativity point of view, theoretically, there are numerous possibilities of an experience like this occurring in the real world.

The beauty of this movie is that it practically engrosses you with the plot by simply plucking a hypothesis from a plausibility in real-world space-time physics.

Enjoy if you're a nerd and an even bigger Bollywood fan :)

Poor Copy of Spanish Mirage

Well Bollywood has always not been able to find their own scripts or songs. Earlier they used to copy shamelessly, these days they buy rights and then create a copy.

First of all the original movie itself wasn't that great, and on top of it the filmmakers have decided to create a copy of it.

Acting is mediocre and it should be investigated how the leading lady got that role. Well there are some many talented people around and then we find these.

Screenplay and direction has been sluggish and fails to hold you together.

Overall a waste of time. Rather sit back and relax. Talk to your friends, family for these 3 hours and if you have extra bucks, please help out a needy guy near you.

Buy them meals for the day and you would be much happier rather watching this nutcrack.

It is poor reviews which stops the making of good movies

I would have almost given this movie a miss after I saw the IMDB rating but for the fact that I noted Anurag Kashyap is its director. So decided to give it a try and it turned out very gripping. It is not your regular run of the mill movie. So I guess it is meant for a discerning audience who can appreciate time travel and parallel universe. Do not let these words scare you - this movie is a slickly made whodunit - worth checking during the Diwali long weekend. Good actors too including Saswat Chatterjee.

It is poor ratings which stop the making of intelligent Indian movies . And then the same people crib about not enough good movies being made. And since Badla was made, am enjoying these remakes of Spanish movies. Directors / Producers are introducing us to good stories which we may normally have not watched.

Sci Fi at its best

A very brave attempt on the genre which is unknown to the audience in India. This film should have reached a different level but unfortunately thrashed by the audience which is very disappointing. But hopefully with time it will regain its status and become cult. I am very happy and proud to see such a film made by an Indian filmmaker and hope that in the coming time many more such films will be made in our country. It has everything that was needed in a sci-fi thriller and a very smart move to change a few things from the original one. Thank You Anurag sir for creating this. Really looking forward to watch more of your films.

Solid Movie

I had skipped this movie because of the bad reviews here on IMBd earlier, and I was gonna skip it again but because of Anuran Kashap and not too many other Hindi options I gave the movie a try.

Secondly I have not watched Mirage (2018 film) - so if you have seen that movie than I can't tell if you will like this movie or not.

Finally the movie - I was blown away by how good the movie was.

The main twist which comes in the first half of the movie is something we never see in any Hindi movie. For most of the movie you are on edge of your seat.

Last 30 mins could have been better that's why I will give 8.5/10

I would definitely recommend this movie!

Reason for all the bad reviews: Indian far right Hindus do not like Tapasse Pannu, and also Anuran, as they do not walk the line set up by their overlords.

So watch the movie if you have Netflix and thank me later.

Treat to watch!

Most of us all will definitely judge by the numeric IMDb rating it has.

But it's because the biased rating that users have input because of Boycott and all.

However the movie speaks for itself. It is a good watch, great direction and amazing screenplay.

Anyone now watching this on Netflix will surely enjoy it.

This is clearly not a justice to any art being judged before it is experienced.

Watch it now for Taapsee Pannu.

And not to forget Anurag Kashyap Direction.

This movie is worth watching, no doubt.

It could've recognized more in case it wasn't released in Theater at the first place.

A cheap copy of spanish movie Mirage

Bollywood is back with another cheap copy. It is really embarrassing now. No original script, copy paste of someone's original hardwork. Things would have been acceptable if the copy was made better than the original in terms of acting, direction etc but you cannot expect that from a third grade actress like Tapsee and negatively skilled director like Anurag Kashyap. What a waste of resources, smh, the disappointment.

Skip this movie and watch the original "Mirage". Use the saved time and money to enjoy life.

Writing this while watching from the theatre, it's not like I have an agenda against bollywood but this movie is genuinely one to avoid. A play in a kindergarten school would make more sense, these actors can't act and the director, well I think he dozed off in multiple scenes during shooting for the film. Don't recommend! It's a horrible remake. Avoid at all costs!

Many things worked where many things didn't in Kashyap's Indian adaptation of Mirage. I've not watched that film BTW. In Dobaaraa, characters may don't know what's going on but we the audience know and have already seen these things in many films. So, it's getting repetitive for us. After some time it's back on the track. That's why I can say that this film is different, but this doesn't work for me.

For the first few minutes you'll not understand you're watching an Indian film or a Kashyap film until or unless someone start to speak in Hindi. Pavail Gulati is a very good actor, he should do more films. Songs were not at all necessary. But, overall a good watch. I'll recommend another movie with quite same concept, Happy Death Day 2U and for that you must Watch Happy Death Day first.

Bad copy, bad acting and horrible story telling

This has to be the worst copy of a movie ever. I mean in history. What a piece of junk. No pace and one of the worst acting jobs. The actors need help and need some classes before they are in front of the big screen. At times the lens seemed to be out of focus and many times the actors were saying something and acting completely differently.

As far the story goes, please go and watch the original, Oriol Paul's 2018 film Mirage. It is 100 times better and the story is well executed into the film.

I received a free ticket to watch the movie and I honestly regret going to the movie because I wasted my time and energy to watch this garbage.

Don't even watch this on OTT or other mediums, you are better off watching paint dry than to spend time watching this movie.

Loved the movie

I did not know that this was based on another movie but standalone this movie rocks. What a plot and really gripping. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The other reviews which all of them say rating 1 or 2 are completely biased. Maybe these are right wing trolls who do not know anything about the movie. I have not seen this MIRAGE movie on which this is based so I really loved it.

Maybe what India lacs is this kind of storyline which is simple and complicated. Even if this is a copy of this MIRAGE movie - I still loved this rendition. I wish more such stories are also written in India. But the combo of director and actor is fairly good.

Just another bad copy

You'd prefer watching the original Spanish one. It's called Mirage. Script, acting and dialogue delivery is shoddy at best. As an actor, Taapsee has not added a possible artistic layer to her role.

First half tight, latter half somewhat lose momentum

With a different genre than his usual direction, Dobaaraa becomes part of his amazing filmography. A remake of 2018 spanish film Mirage, Dobaaraa had tension, thrill and suspense throughout it's time paradox parallel reality drama.

The story was sharp and wasn't tampered, the writing was tight and the overall setting of the movie felt like watching a certain hollywood movie. Neglecting the negative remarks and low ratings for the movie by some audience due to trending boycott chaos, Dobaaraa is a piece of work that needs to be seen and appreciated.

The only thing that lessened the thrill of the movie at times, was few unnecessary songs that didn't even worked with the scenario. Also, the last 15 minutes went like a bullet, with mystery unfolding and resetting to the original reality etc.

My Rating : 7/10.

Below average movie. Second half is disaster

I knew this movie is copy of original Spanish movie mirage , anyhow I decided to go and watch it but I was really disappointed. Tapsees acting is so so. The movie has interesting first half but second half is just messed up. Looked like anurag sir was in hurry to warp up the film.second half was poorly written directed didn't have enough clarity to link various parts of the story. Best of luck for anurag sirs next movie.

Not bad

It honestly wasn't a bad film. Although I generally dislike Taapse Pannu as an actress it's a decent one time watch. I haven't seen the Spanish original and I don't think many Desi's will have either, so it's better than 90% of the current Bollywood movies which have been released this year. Some aspects of the plot are a little illogical but I guess they are the same in the original.

The pacing could have been tightened a little, and songs are redundant. Taapse could have been a more likeable protagonist and you would have sympathised with her marital situation better. The rest of the cast are OK but nothing memorable.

If you want to watch it's original version. Watch Mirage movie. Pure Acting skills with amazing plot with beautiful twists and turns. Go watch MIRAGE not this TRASH. Bollywood is done they have nothing to show you they will only copy copy copy. For your kind information there is already 15 movies in line which are copied from different movies. Due to high fees of actors they don't have enough money to pay a content writer. That's why they are copying. And they will do this again and again. Please go and watch it's original version.
