Vibes
florasarakonok9 January 2023
Honestly it's such a vibe. Presents the tipical Hungarian holiday perfectly, summer feeling, nostalgia. I loved it a lot. Really Hungarian, but in the good way, surprisingly. The jokes, the characters, all of it is just so comforting and so relatable as a Hungarian (but I think for every Easter/middle European person). The videography is so beautiful too. Mucsi and Kanyó Kata owned the show. I haven't laughed this much in a Hungarian movie since Buék (2018). It definitely deserves more attention. It's really cool it's on Netflix now, maybe that will get it some more hype. I think you should give it a try!

Silly, two-dimensional travel agency advert
myChrisMiller15 March 2024
This is not even a film but a catalogue of a travel agency and a children's colouring book. It has basically no plot, the script is merely a collection of keywords like friendship, growing up, heritage, patriotism; poured down with a lot of kitsch, ending up in something that seems like dialogue but without any emotions, subtlety or any aspiration to character arcs. The overall style is either very cheesy or too obviously effortful to be funny-ish. The characters - or I would call them illustrations - have no dimensions, they're so full of cliches that they are nothing more than illustrations of real life people of Hungary, or any other country. The creators seemingly disdain the audience so much that they don't even try to write a single person who is a little bit more than a millboard figure or a caricature. Almost unwatchable, very badly paced, and silly white trash material - a mashup of a feature-length travel ad of the Balatonfelvidek and some fake-patriotic ideological layman's guide.

Don't recommend this to anyone, it's a waste of time.

The best romcom I have seen recently
drpongraczzita20 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This romantic comedy works without any clichés, except for the very end, which is a Hollywood-type happy ending and therefore forgettable. The photographer does a very good job with the Balaton panorama, it's really worth watching in the cinema. All the characters are young and fresh, so you can replace them with yourself and remember high school and your classmates falling in love with each other. If you are not young like me, you will be familiar with Jani bá or Jani bro (the only teacher who parties with his class as father of one of the classmates Juli)😌. Zoltán Muchi as Jani bá is unforgettable (macho, funny, sarcastic) and you would definitely hate him as a father-in-law but must be seen. I enjoyed it so much from the beginning and the music takes me back to the early 2000s. I recommend it not only to Hungarian moviegoers, but to everyone who likes summer and romantic comedies with some moral storytelling.
