Then do have a stake out on this tv series. its documentary enmasse', it takes you right to the frontline of ( actually even known to me the grumpy old man living 8000 miles away in norway) named fires from the previous fireseason 2020, from the start to mopup, from handcrew made lines to dozerline till contaiment is secured, rolling out 10000's feets of fire line hoses, carrying 15-30 kg water pumps, following the fire chiefs in their battle assesment, creating cities or camps for 1000's of firefighters to rest and recover for the next battle. we follow inhabitants in the rsg areas till evac orders are given, and the sad aftermaths of lost lives, lost houses and burnt out history.
i love the way theyve managed to keep up the pace in the episodes, they must have had tons of material to use, and the small parts that we are allowed to see are darn facinating, very scary, and help keeping my tense shoulders up where they belong...thats under my ears. top notch production with a little bit of everything.
i'm not a firefighter myself, but if i was young today i wouldve emigrated over the dam, to take part in the horendous and life threatening work they do. ive always been afraid of wildfires since childhood experiences, so im the guy who thinks 30 mtrs safety zone round our summercabin , even in wet and rainy western norway.and thanks to the internet and the information providers of american, state and governmental information sites, and available satelite sources, makes me able, at least telepathicly, help scold the fire with water and retardant in situ. and with the help of bill gabbert running the website wildfire today that works as a bloodhound in the trenches wether its on law making and downsizing, new fires and updates, and general developments in the fire equipment world. great site.
but this series is an idea ive been thinking about for years but now its come, and i hope for god sake theyll make this a returning show for the years to come, not because its fun, but because its dire and nescesarry for people to see and learn and become educated. i know living in another part of the world is that ive learned a heck of a lot of geography the past 6 years. will i recommend a look at this pilot project, oh yeah man...i might even do a fundraiser for the next one.
