Actress and director Robin Wright will be the featured guest at Karlovy Vary’s closing ceremony on July 8, where she will receive the festival’s Honorary President’s Award.
Across her career, Wright has received three Golden Globe nominations, with a win in 2014; five Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award nominations; and five consecutive Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her performances in Netflix’s House Of Cards.

Belgian humorist Nawell Madani leads this dramatic crime series, alongside Djebril Zonga and Paola Locatelli. The title, which is a reference to the phrase "blood is thicker than water," defines this series that's about the importance of sisterhood & family. The cast includes Kahina Carina, Carima Amarouche, Aïda Guechoud, Mayane Sarah El Baze, Paul Hamy, Vincent Rottiers, and Walid Afkir. This seems like a legit series, though a bit campy with the drug plot. It has a good setup and a clever cast bringing levity to this drug lord story. Take a look below. // Continue Reading...

Tabyana Ali has made the part of Trina Robinson on General Hospital her own. Last year, she replaced fan favorite Sydney Mikayla in the role just as the character was on trial for a crime she didn’t commit.
Ali is just 20 years old and is quite talented. Maurice Benard, who plays Sonny Corinthos on the soap, praised her acting abilities when they spoke on his State of Mind podcast. He especially loves the coupling of Robinson and Spencer Cassadine, who together have received the nickname “Sprina” from fans.
Soap operas are ultra-dramatic, and the storylines are serious. Ali’s character is no different. So it is a bit of a surprise that the actor was once a comedian.

Exclusive: European film giant Pathé, which owns more than 1,000 cinema screens across the continent, will always be a theatrical-first business. That doesn’t mean it can’t also move with the times.
The French major, whose lifeblood is film exhibition, production and distribution, is riding high off this week’s three Oscar nominations for Coda. But the company is also hiring multiple staff in its fledgling TV division and lining up content collaborations with streamers as it looks to diversify its portfolio in a rapidly shifting media landscape.
Joining Pathé’s TV head Aude Albano in Paris are Development Manager for Series, Gauthier Foll, formerly of WeMake, and Legal Manager Business Affairs for Series, Lise Bouley, formerly of Lagardère and GMT. “We’re structuring the team now”, explains Pathé President Ardavan Safaee.

Vivendi-owned pay TV group Canal Plus has signed a pact with France’s film guilds on Thursday to invest €600 million ($680 million) in French and European films from 2022 to 2024.
Under the agreement, Canal Plus will have to dedicate 85% of the $680 million to French films over the next three years. The pact, which took six months to come to fruition, was signed by Canal Plus CEO Maxime Saada and France’s main film unions, the Arp, Blic and Bloc, representing everyone from authors to directors, producers, distributors and exhibitors.
The group has been considered as France’s biggest backer of French movies for the last 30 years and has been bound by investment agreements, as are all French TV groups. As a pay TV company, Canal Plus has had to invest 12.5% of its annual turnover on French and European films. But as the group took a hit from the launch of global streaming services such as Netflix,...

Measurement replaces previous system reporting who watched at least two minutes of content in first 28 days.
Netflix has launched top 10 lists reporting its most popular films and shows around the world based on its new metric measuring hours viewed.
Starting today (November 16) the metric on Top10.netflix replaces the streamer’s previous measurement which recorded the number of accounts that watched at least two minutes of a piece of content in its first 28 days on the platform.
That system was frequently criticised for failing to reveal a meaningful picture of viewership, cherry picking highlights and not reporting who watched shows in their entirety.
