Warning: Spoilers
Really awesome ending for Doug Judys character. An episode full of friendship goals yet a lot of mind f-ery, misleading clues and surprise twists.

PB&J
kaden_lewis3 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Any episode with Doug Judy in it is a 10/10 in my book. The way Jake and Doug act together is always a treat to watch. Andy Samberg and Craig Robinson also have amazing chemistry together. This episode also had a great story to it. The whole idea of them having "one last ride" by Jake transferring Doug to a jail was pretty cool. Also, all the fun they had on the drive was fun to watch. The episode hit its climax when we found out Doug was up to his old tricks and was going to escape Jake, again. In the end, everything worked out. We even got a scene at the end that showed us Doug moved to the Netherlands and became a free man, we even found out Jake helped him do that. I feel like it was a perfect way to end the Doug Judy story.

This episode was great, but it will be so sad not seeing Doug Judy again, he was a great character.

Ignore the haters, BEST episode this season
robertdlar27 August 2021
Finally a; zero agenda driven, episode that features classic writing and comedy that we have come to expect from this show. It was a very good end to the PB&J friendship and full of laughs.

Not great

I love PB&J, but I don't like this sendoff for this character. I wish it had been Doug judy's wedding or something. Instead it's left with Doug Judy being a wanted criminal again, and Jake being a cop who aided a criminal in escaping.

Friendship transcends career choices
quantumphyzx23 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Excellent ending to the show's most complex/controversial character(s) study (career criminal being best friends with a career constable).

What's irritating is how people are negging Jake and how he influenced the ending to this story arc. Jake did nothing wrong. It's not illegal to give your friend a pen in the real world--they weren't in a holding cell or in a visitation room nor were they anywhere near a prison or police precinct. People let their friends borrow pens and pencils all the time.

It was Doug Judy who used the pen to circumvent his police fetters (this is actually impossible with today's handcuffs due to their double-latch design, so it's even dumber that people are getting so emotionally irate over what is quite obviously an extreme fantasy in the show's script) in the civilian world. So get over yourselves and delete the urge to try and string Peralta up by his heels because he gave Judy a pen before the payphone ending scene.

This episode was classic PB&J double-trouble with lots of comical twists, turns, and Judy/Peralta taking turns bending and blasting each others minds with fakeouts and double-crosses. This was a classic 9-9 episode for the OG fans of the show and it was an excellent way to end the Judy/Peralta timeline. It's also in the top 3 episodes of the final season thanks to its apolitical, laugh-only fueled agenda. 10/10 Judy and Peralta 4 life.

Always great to see these two together but...
alem-ingles29 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The end of the episode made me feel so weird, Jake has always been honest and proud of his work, he wouldn't help a criminal to escape prison; that's not a Jakey thing to do, he has morals you know?

**SPOILERS** or maybe this was also the first clue about his Finale decision **END OF SPOILERS**

How would I've ended it...

Judy steals Jake's pen... then Judy waves Jake goodbye (showing the pen) Jake taps his pockets and realizes but let's him take it... realizing that Judy will never change and he loves him for it...

the phone call would've been nicer this way and Judy would've only calling him to update his location and telling him that he was ok with his wife.

Great episode. Along with The Lake House the best of this season. Until now the episodes ranked:

1. The Lake House 2. PB&J 3. Balancing 4. Blue Flu 5. The Set Up 6. The Good Ones.

It is going down

Warning: Spoilers
The ending was the worst for this show. What was going on in the head of the writers? Seriously, the only thing they had to do was to do the right thing but no. In the next episode, Jake apologies for tailing a victim but he let the criminal to go in this episode. The writers should not have change the entire script. They write one thing then in the next episode they are not even following what they had written.

Great to have Judy back for apparently a goodbye. 😥 In my opinion, one the best guest character in any sitcom. You have to love their chemistry. Hope for some kind of spinoff.

It was everything that i expected. It was funny and sad at the same time. As someone else also said Doug and Jake's chemistry is the best. End of an era.

Really liked this

Warning: Spoilers
To be honest every Pontiac bandit episode is great. It's not the best PB episode in the series but not the worst by a longshot. The ending was pretty sad and a good sendoff to PB. Antic between characters were really great and that one scene with Jake and PB in the car where PB is convincing him through saying nothing is just incredible. Definitely the best episode of the season this far.

Best episode of the season
mateomathew27 August 2021
It really doesn't matter if you're the biggest fan of the series to admit that this the worst season of Brooklyn Nine Nine. Too policial and Really not that much laughs and repetitive storylines. But this one was good bringing back the best friendship of the show Dough Judy and Jake. In my opinion they have more chemistry than Jake And Charles. Charles is a simp for Jake,But Jake and Judy are so perfect together that's just my opinion. Plot twist and sad moments the only episode I felt holy s**t this is the final season and goodbyes are taking place.

Pretty Good and I can't say keep up the pace because there are only like 3 regular episodes and the last 2 are probably gonna be the end. But I hope this isn't the last good episode of the show.

A fun episode that ended horribly
raamsridhar21 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
*Spoilers for previous episodes also*

Jake and Doug are amazing together. To me, Boyle will always be Jake's best friend, but there's something wonderful about Jake and Doug's friendship. They both acknowledge it and do justice to it - and most of all, it looks amazing on the episodes these two appear in together.

PB&J could have been the most fun among these episodes, given that that's what it was entirely about, but it ended miserably.

Jake has had a wonderful character arc, nearly always becoming a better person that he's been. There's the occasional weird episode like Captain Kim but that can be forgiven. What I like about this series is that the detectives have a lot of fun and good around, but like Jake says in Nutriboom, he's got a huge moral compass. That's something fundamental to who Jake is, and they threw all that down the drain in forcing a rhyme out of this episode on the pretext of giving a poetic ending.

I cannot forgive them for writing Jake this way. In some sense, it was worse than how they wrote Amy inn Casecation.

Justice for Judy
safenoe21 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Jake and Judy embark on a road trip that is the end of the road for Doug Judy, and it's an opportunity for Jake and Judy to engage in banter and reflections that brings the comedy back to Brooklyn Nine-Nine, after some heavy issues where (necessarily) considered at the beginning of the season much to the chagrin of some fans.

Anyway, PB&J is lots of fun, and you can imagine the fun involved in filming it, and the bloopers and so on and on and on. Anyway, I'm pleased I'm finally catching up on the final season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine which I recorded in 2021 when the world was gripped by the pandemic.

This hurts as a Dutch
jurriaanduijn21 August 2022
Pretty good PB&J episode compared to the rest, but I can't give it above a five star rating just because of the ending. Previous Amsterdam/Dutch/Holland/Netherlands reference we're doable, but representing Amsterdam like a Western Hollywood version of Dutch stereotypes stabbed me in the back. Get your facts straight Americans, especially if you are gonna promote universal healthcare on TV...
