One of the LEAST enjoyable pseudo reality shows I've ever seen

Warning: Spoilers
WOW....I re-viewed this series after a long hiatus enjoying other 'real' reality shows. The voice-over is tedious, incorrect often and repetitive.....did I mention repetitive. Over and over again we see the same clips with every 'accident' and near-accident with the dramatic music and the claim that these guys are putting their lives on the line with every log run. I live in an area like this in Northern Ontario and stuff like this is a daily event...no drama just get on with the job. The owners....well all you can say is thank God the father started a successful business because Eldon's decisions are almost always dramatic and terrible....there's the Swedish feller-butcher which breaks on the first day...then the 2....not just one to see if they're any good or not BUT 2.....Mack trucks with a SPECIALLY REQUESTED ( by Eldon ) extra large motor for them. Guess what....they are SO BAD that right at the beginning of season 3 he sends his 2 $140,000 each trucks BACK to Mack and they offer him $30,000 for them.....even Mack knows a lemon when they make one. The employees are treated like shite and are threatened with firing for NOT knuckling under and staying at a bush camp for 5 days every week. I seriously thought that practice went out of fashion 50 years ago but the 2 owners....true DESPOTS, feel that lining THEIR pockets is the MOST important element in employee relations so guess who wins? The temper-prone other brother runs the shop like he in King of the place and it's hard to find any employees who are happy.....except...Morin.....rightly called "Memere" by his fellow workers....not a compliment as it implies someone who 'fusses' over everything....it's also obvious he's a MAJOR brown-noser. Their best employees are praised in front of the camera then threatened with firing when they speak out of have breakdowns....and how can they NOT have breakdowns with second-hand, jury-rigged, botched, patched and re-purposed junk....nonetheless when firings ARE justified, they give 'strikes' or chances that seem pretty juvenile. What's next for Rudy and Jeff....TIME-OUTS for naughty employees??

In 3 years we see only 3 or 4 new purchases and these are made by Eldon and ALL of them are DUMB. One is the crane for I believe 300,000 which he decides to cut and shorten spending precious shop time, money and parts only to produce a crane that STILL won't lift the desired amount and now, thanks to it's 'modifications', is worth less than he paid for it...a used dinosaur. Good money after bad is I believe the expression. The show should be re-named Dumb, Dumb, and even Dumber. The only brother who shows any brains is Larry....relegated to road maintenance...maybe he knows it's best to stay away from the royal thrones location. That people work for idiots like this family is a statement of how desperate the times are.

American Loggers Review.

My first question is how did this show make it to a third season? This show is beyond boring nothing happens. The people in the show are the most boring guys in the state of Maine all rounded up and put on TV. This show makes Swamp Loggers look like the Sopranos in greatness. I'm a fan of these type of shows like Ax Men and Swamp Loggers but this is beyond tedious viewing. There's no drama or excitement and the one time something exciting happened when the old guy got hit with the log it was still boring. In similar shows to this there is great characters, in American loggers these guys put you to sleep they sit in the office all day looking very grim complaining about the timber industry.

My advice is to avoid this lame duck of a show and stick with the better alternatives out there Swamp Loggers and Ax Men.
