A Deeper Journey

To My Star Season 1 is your maybe-not-so-typical BL in that although it has your good-looking actors, your cute storyline, and is generally fluffy, it also has a more serious thread that weaves through the story. The main characters aren't bubbly and happy-go-lucky, but have an angst about them that alludes to a more traumatic past. And the antagonist third party in the triangle isn't your usually-obvious "I'm going to ruin your relationship", cackling type. Don't get me wrong, the first season is on the lighter side and has the satisfying prerequisite ending we're all looking for.

And therefore, To My Star Season 2 was quite a surprising start where we don't know what's going on and the timelines aren't quite clear. Very mysterious, indeed. As the season progresses, you realise that this is not your typical BL anymore. It's a deeper dive into relationships of all kinds, human nature, and the different emotional journeys we each go through. I don't want to say it's darker, but it is more realistic and it suddenly doesn't become about focusing on the main characters having a happily ever after moment, but about the subtleties and nuances of feelings and how we deal with them.

All in all, a very satisfying, and entertaining, series. A wonderful surprise.

Everything I Hoped For!

Wow, BL fans have been blessed in 2021 - first "Color Rush" and now "To My Star." I am ecstatic at the quality content we are being given!

To My Star is well on its way to being a really well done drama. Again we are given a format of 9 short (12 minute) episodes, so that's not a lot of time, and I feel the backstories sometimes suffer because of this. There are a few moments where viewers need to assume/read between the lines at the choppiness of some scenes. But that is really my only complaint.

The acting is great, the couple is so cute and developed really nicely. And oh my, we got a REAL kiss scene in this! Also a really amazing original song??

This is giving me so much hope for the future of BL K-dramas. I loved this and thought it was very well done.

Good Enough

Korean Drama " To My Star " is a sweet drama with some deep themes here and there. The factor that makes this drama entertaining is the chemistry between the two leads, and, especially, the two personalities. The two of them were completely different characters, one outgoing, flirty and friendly and the other secretive, closed up and an introverted, and yet somehow they were great together, unlocking each other.

The drama added some other plot lines too, with the celebrity scandal and its conclusion, and the drama between the two friends. The food scenes were brilliant too and a nice touch, as were the bonding moments between the two leads. Another enjoyable note was the connection of this drama with the other mini drama " Where your eyes linger ".

Finally, the performances were great for everyone in the cast.

So, overall, eight and a half out of ten for this short drama.

Still beautiful

I loved season 1 and just finished season 2. It was heartbreakingly beautiful and I almost couldn't watch it. But it's definitely worth it! The main leads have such great chemistry. This is a show I would rewatch just to see these two again.

Light and pleasing

As always, the casting of the team never let down.

I sticked to the series 50% for the good looking actors, 25% for the surprises in each episodes, 25% for the smooth storytelling.

Everything in this series was pleasing, from color to sounds, visually and auditorily 10/10

I'm looking forward for this team to produce a normal length bl series.

THIS BOY LOVE DRAMA JUST HIT DIFFERENT WITH HOW SWEET AND TENDER IT TREATED THE MAIN COUPLE. THAT WAS THE CUTEST SHOW I'VE EVER INJECTED INTO MY EYEBALLS! I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS! THE ACTORS, THE FORCED PROXIMITY, PLOT, VIBES, MOOD, THE MANY KNIT SWEATERS, ALL THE COOKING, AND THE DOMESTICITY! I loved season 1 and now season 2. I'm shock with eps 1, It was heartbreakingly beautiful. But it's definitely worth it! I love the main leads .. they have much great chemistry and their acting very good. I would rewatch this again, like i did in season 1.

Hope to see them work together again.....

I love this BL. I have seen it so many times as it never fails to impress. It is one of my favorites.

Very sweet storyline and subtle chemistry Great acting, good story, limited time period as this is a mini drama are some other pros of this BL The on-screen chemistry of the pair is beautiful as the personality of one is different from the other.

As I've heard mostly that Koreans are not good at kissing scenes, I particularly think the ones in this drama were great!

So all around a must watch for the BL fans and K-drama fans too!

Extremely Beautiful and Captivating!

Extremely beautiful and compelling!! Simple plotline yet portrayed so well! The chemistry between the leads felt so connected and real! Everything was produced extremely well. The cinematography and visuals were top notch, the locations were enthralling! The pacing of the show was perfect, never felt it was stretched or rushed, considering the tight time frame it was packed in. The OST are gonna be on my loop for a long time in my playlist, especially the opening track. The show indeed raised bars! The show is a must watch not just for a BL but as a regular show well!

Simple plot that is connected to all the characters, great acting, amazing chemistry, bop of a soundtrack and aesthetics shots. This is everything I want from a romantic comedy short story. It was a deeper journey . This is a one of my fav BL series right now. Season 1 makes me attached with them and season 2 makes me addicted with them. Both season was mind blowing. When I finished this series, this series was stuck in my head long times. Can't get over on this series. I love Kang Seo Joon and Han Ji Woo characters, love them so much. I will be absolutely recommend this series. This series is a masterpiece.

The casting is perfect. The actors are charming, the supporting cast are all spot on. The writing is very good. I was impressed. The development of the central relationship is especially believable. Nothing about their relationship is pretentious or shallow like in so many other rom-coms. It's all explained and makes sense. Loved it.

To My Star 2 deals with relationship insecurities, but it is still a cut above everything else in this genre. The relationship continues to develop and the actors are so intense, complex and believable. A wonderful achievement. I hope beyond hope there is a 3rd season.

The main leads have such great chemistry and their performences were so wonderful, that we all deserved a second season. I enjoyed this. No one is perfect and there are no perfect relationships.

The top One of all K-BL dramas

Out of all Korean BL dramas I've watched this is by far the greatest drama with this genre in Korea. The acting, script and the chemistry of the two was so good I wish the episodes we're longer.

It's actually pretty decent

This is a pretty hilarious and heartwarming mini-series. The bromance is strong, the cast is gorgeous and there were plenty of cheeky moments where I couldn't help but blush and squeal in absolute delight!

Despite it being relatively short (the entire series is a little over 2hrs long), I thought there was adequate character development and the plot/storyline did not suffer in the least. In fact, some of the other BL dramas out there tend to drag on a show for 24 episodes by adding a lot of meaningless lines and scenes, when they could just do 12 episodes of good solid content instead.

This is why I love BL dramas like 'To My Star'. I hope they give us a second season soon!

I gave this movie (series) a 9/10 because I just love the simplicity of the movie. Its cute and refreshing. This is the best K-BL show for me so far.

I felt so in need of more from their love story.

But in its short way, it's perfect. It "wraps".

The bond the lead actors developed should have not be wasted.

Their interactions are organically cute ad make you smile without knowing. Durineun jincha chalsaengeon namjadiriyeyo, tto kachi charaoulyo. Storyline has been summarized on various databases for the BL enthusiasts to decide whether to watch. Plot is interesting. Casting was perfect to begin with. Screenplay and dialogues keep you captivated. Coloring and Styling are a cherry to the frosting. No extreme highs and lows found in the narrative yet i would describe it as a smooth ride along a coastline with your special person where presence is commitment, eyes speak vows and you doubt if its a dream..... I relished every frame as the actors executed their roles after thoroughly understanding the requisites. Originally i was excited for the second season but..... i insist not to watch it because it will shatter the beautiful bubble they once created.
