Yet another average remake!!

Mumbaikar review :

Premiering this weekend on JioCinema, Mumbaikar is another South remake attempted by Bollywood. This time, they have picked up Lokesh Kanagaraj's far superior Maanagaram (2017) and made an average Hindi movie out of it. Quite unnecessary I would say, as the original Hindi dub of the Tamil hit is available online!!

Anyway, Mumbaikar marks the Bollywood debut of Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi and it's kinda sad he has chosen this launch which offers him no scope at all. In fact, his character is so underdeveloped that you just can't connect with it. Vikrant Massey is another wasted talent here and you sincerely wish this gentleman chooses better projects... for his own good!! The pretty Tanya Maniktala is the proverbial heroine but trust me, she was much better off in A Suitable Boy (2020).

The plot, revolving around a kidnapping gone wrong, which impacts some dozen odd characters ranging from underworld to a BPO (outsourcing) office, is something up Kanagaraj's sleeve. Director Santosh Sivan falters badly with its Hindi remake, which is a bit surprising looking at his rich experience.

Watch Mumbaikar only if you have nothing else to do this weekend.

A simple word short review - by - itsbymayank Mayank Louteriya

Firstly it's a mix of individuals Mumbaikar's story.

All the characters have done a good work.

Director have to be like this, he can work in any genre.

A simple one time watch good movie.

A actual life of Mumbai people with some masala in it.

There is a song but in background that's the best thing I believe because makers didn't want to make movie Lengthy.

Unnecessarily makers didn't make it Lengthy and didn't put anything anytime.

Every part and scene is OK and set there.

If you don't know about the makers of the film just go and search it.

To be honest I Mayank Louteriya - Select films not because of only actors but makers..

Some movies should not be remade

This was so soulless, and Vijay Sethupathi role did not suit him in Tamil Maanagaram Munishkanth, Nailed that role, being a person who is totally silly and innocent and it did not suit Vijay Sethupathis personality, over a massive soulless movie that should have not been made. Lokesh K's first movie, and impressed the audience with his style of storytelling, and the issue with Mumbaikar is that it was just a copy-paste without the right emotions. As a big fan of Vijay Sethupathis, I just wish his entry to Hindi film should have been with some great role, and not with this role. I think as the rule goes leave the original as original and don't mess with it.

Could Have Been A Good College Project

Okay so this has to be the worst watch of 2023 till now. I don't know how they makers could waste so much talent field actors in one go. You have actors such as Sethupathi, Vikrant Messey, Saurav Mishra, Ranvir Shorey and you see all of them sending around something which is meaning less.

The makers firstly had to make so much of effort in trying to build an empathetic link with each and every character which throughout the film seem to be so forceful and emotional less. The surprise and I would also say annoying thing was Sethupathi (whom we all know to be such an amazing actor) was part of something which couldn't even justify his presence. I mean why did he do the film? Vikrant Messey the kind of actor he is, the action scenes with his expression looked weird. And PKP ...oh .. I thought we are over 70's stereotype villains but no makers are still hanging to it...that entire wada pao "rogue catchphrase" is pathetic to watch. Saurav Mishra 'wasted'. And that goon in black tshirt (don't even remember his name) why he is there in the first place!!!

Music and background score again are pathetic, unable to create any treatment and most of the time didn't match to the dialogue or scene. Failed Miserably.

Dialogue...where to start...very lesser are the times when you watch something where no actor has any chemistry and cannot convince you to feel the character even for a second...and this is just the overall experience of the film.

This film would have done wonders if was a college project but shouldn't have been on commercial platform. I was really looking forward to it, thinking Sethupathi and Messy will make their audience glued and happy but I am highly disappointed.

The movie is wrongly based and titled as mumbaikar as no instances shown occurs in mumbai

The main content is said to be inspired by some south movie but the title of mumbaikar and the city which is described is absolutely not mumbai..there spirit of mumbai is very high and positive the elements shown like acid attack ,kidnapping,looting,etc happens very less in mumbai ..more of negativity shown rather than good qualities of mumbai..unnecessary connections were developed and showcased

Only Vijay was good in the movie in compare to all big stars

This is not expected from great Santosh sivan.

In addition to the technical aspects, the movie itself was a bit dull and disconnected. The storyline failed to establish a strong connection between the characters, resulting in a lack of chemistry among the artists. However, the movie managed to capture its message effectively in the last 10 minutes. It beautifully portrayed the essence of Mumbai, where people selflessly help one another, regardless of their names or relationships. Conversely, they also unknowingly form enemies without any real reason. The film depicted a city where everyone is constantly on the move, yet they manage to form complex relationships, exhibit acts of humanity, and even cultivate enmity, all without knowing each other's names.

What's This ? Good Actors Played a Very Bad Movie.

Best Actors doing a Wrong Movie and the Worst Movie ever Played By Good Actor.

No Sense of Making these types of Movies in 2023.

Pure Bakwas Movie I've ever watched.

Most Of Actors are very Popular and Well good in every terms but don't know why they played this kind of Character.

Very worst movie.

Ratings option should be 0.

But 1 is okay for Good Acting.

And for 2 Hours entertainment also Give 1 Rating for very Bad and Passing My time.

Never wanna see this movie ever.

After watched I ask myself why I downloaded it and for what reason.. I can't answer myself so what type of Rating I can provide here.. Sorry.

For me It's worst Movie as per My Opinion.

A Great Santosh Sivan Movie

A Real likable movie... Great Role play by All the Actors... Mumbai's essence captured of today's time.. people from all over are coming here in rapid numbers from all over the Country, which is shown with ease as Mumbai commands good Salary, which is True.

Good Direction..Good Screenplay...Good Cinematography... A No Drag Movie... Family can watch... A bit Violence for small children's still watchable with Full Family..

I personally would say a "Must Watch" Movie.. will not care about what Indian Film Critics Say... As I personally know many Professional Film Critics make Tons monet rather than giving a Actual Factual Review of any Film from the Viewers perspective or the Film Makers Perspective. For Matured Film Going Audience.."YES"

Nice Movie

Really nice and cool movie, I don't know why this movie is getting so low rating, there is no porn scene, we can watch this movie with family, the ending is so beautiful, the actors played their role very well. Yet people are giving such low ratings, people are used to watching only pornographic relationships so such a beautiful movie is getting such low ratings.. Sachin Khedekar, Vikrant Massey, Vijay Sethupathi, Ranveer Shorey, Sanjay Mishra, Hridh Haroon, Tanya Manikatala have all done an amazing job.

But anyway I like the movie very much and I request the director to make the movie... All the best.

Good story..good narration..vikrant massey acting is always awesome ...Vijay sethupathi acting no doubt killer..Good comedy with his acting..........you must watch film for good moral that our society should gain ...To help people selflessly who is in trouble...Then only these criminals will stop .. otherwise who knows next time victim could be from our family...This film give us courage to raise our voice against small small crime that happen near by us .and everyone just watching and say this is not our matter yrr..just let it be... Again good story you can give your time to watch this movie .
