Not bad for a student film

Warning: Spoilers
This Movie is the submission of Vidhu Vinod Chopra as his final project when he was finishing film school at FTII, Pune The Audio quality is poor; the quality of the visual is also poor. But it is worth watching purely for educational or curiosity reasons

The film is basically a jarring composition of scenes with poor and discontinuous editing (Renu Saluja edited the film) and scenes where Vidhu Vinod has attempted as many camera angles as he would have learnt during film school. Never the less I thoroughly enjoyed the camera work in the film. Whoever did it, did an exceptional job even for a professional (though this film was shot by a bunch of amateurs)

I also really liked the credit music as well as the other background music these guys used. It was exceptional again for a student doing it . You could use it in any film of those times.

The story begins with a lady getting shot, followed by the planning of murder in assuming flash back, most of which was incomprehensible due to poor audio.

The rest of the film is just a couple Vidhu Vinod and one hot girl some Anjali Paigaonkar romancing around railway tracks and the hills of Lonavala There is song and dance (more a parody by intention), one almost sex scene(pretty bold for a student film) and an out of the blue chase, which just wont make any sense. When the 20 minute film abruptly ends and an explanation is given you cant help but smile.

The idea was I think to try and apply as many things these people learned at FTII and then showcase all the masala that a film should have to only say that look we don't have money but if you will support us we will give you a hit.

Not bad for twenty minutes of lukha time actually

You can catch it on the Pelador DVD of Francois Truffuant's The Woman Next Door as an extra.
