We all know that human life is full of dangers and failures : it is possible, for instance, to lose one's soul mate over a minor quarrel, while it is equally possible to marry a seemingly suitable partner who will turn one's existence into a living hell. Unsurprisingly, people have been struggling with the possibility that life after death might be equally difficult, comprising many an opportunity to get swallowed by a nocturnal demon, miss a second chance at life or return as a baboon in a tree. As a result cultures from Peru to Tibet and from Egypt to Sweden have been providing detailed advice on how to escape various pitfalls...

In "Mon ami" a ghost gets struck by lightning, in a freak accident, and discovers that he's stuck somewhere between life and death. So where should he go and what should he do ? And why did he fail where so many succeeded ? Thankfully he meets a kind-hearted man, still among the living, who will help him examine the problem...
"Mon ami" is a pleasantly imaginative and creative little animation movie, witty and melancholy at the same time. The little ghost is strangely poignant and one cannot but hope that he will find some kind of doorway to whatever may be waiting on the other end.
