Free Flow of emotion

Anwar Says: A much predictable real life story with feel good factor and finds smile on your face at the end. Normally in child prodigies based movies, parents are pushy but here the protagonist finds his way to find his goal . And what better place than Kolkata be chosen to tell you the story.

No massy dialogues, no tantrums , no action scenes and only one soothing number by Arijit Singh , still you flow with the script, thanks to Ashutosh Gowariker, who helped the writer- director Mridul in screenplay. It was Rajeev Kapur's last film and he would make you emotional in some sequences with his son. Sanjay Dutt gave an enthralling performance as coach with Bollywood Tadka of Amitabh Bachchan, Rajnikant and Mithunda style snooker shots . But the show stealer is Varun Budhdev , the Tulsidas Jr. , who acts with his eyes.

A simple motivational journey told with a steady pace by the real life junior in the beautifully captured Kolkata bylanes and CSC . Watch it on Netflix , 7/10 from me .

I think it's the first Hindi movie on snooker

I was just surfing the tv where I saw this movie yesterday and it was going good..Sanjay Dutt played a role of a coach which was hard hitting with witty and funny dialogues..the junior Varun played his role extremely well and was very energetic he with Sanjay Dutt carried the movie successfully

Little polishing was required with professionally supported would have taken this movie to new heights.

I just watched and felt this nearly 2 hour movie, and I have to say I am taken aback by what I experienced. It is a well shot movie, low budget but highly standardised, excellent acting and good script.

Without writing any spoilers I will just say that this movie is made from the heart and soul, and there isn't any moment one would feel that there is superficialness in this film whatsoever!

Dalip Tahil a veteran actor, Rajiv Kapoor a veteran actor and Sanjay Dutt also a veteran actor, all join forces to make it the movie that it is.

It was really sad that Rajiv Kapoor couldn't watch the release of his last movie taking place, but the work that has been done by everyone including the new young actor has been fabulous and a fitting tribute to the KAPOOR FAMILY.

<3 REST IN PEACE Rajiv Kapoor.

Never expected movie on a game like snooker to be turned out so well. Superb direction and great acting by everyone. Wish such movies get their dues compared to all other commercial movies.

I just watched this on Netflix, It should be on Top list. A great refreshing story and executed well. Everybody acted really very good. I think for those who don't like these kind of movies have bad taste, and likes to watch masala movies which have full of bad songs and painful background music. This is a really simple and straight movie. I don't know what happened to people's taste, we must have some patience and watch simple movies with our family and friends.

A Must Watch, believe me you'll like it.

Refreshing and a feel good movie

A simple motivational journey told with a steady pace. The technical details about the game were pretty accurate. It could have been a gem as little polishing was required. However It was pleasant to watch and such movies should be encouraged.

A unique movie that will surely leave you feeling good. As a movie its well made but some actors should leave the job to professionals. Instead of the mother if they had applied lipstick to a piece of wood the effect would have been the same. The plot line has plenty of holes but the kid is endearing and makes it a good watch.

I actually give this a 6.5/10. This movie reminded me of my best friend because they look like the main character. It was a good movie overall. It's better then I expected it to be. It's a good children's movie.

It was worth watching for. Loved every bit of this movie. How naturally it portrayed the love between father and son, between brothers. It was overwhelming.

First of all, just watch the movie for the child actor, he has acted brilliant. Now, the movie is a sweet interesting watch with few weak points like no attention on time frames and some dramatic scenes just to give movie a masala touch. Plus, sanjay dutt as a snooker player isn't digestive also but he had aced the bengali accent. And biggest drawback of the movie is it's over dramatic climax that really kills the vibe created in the earlier 2 hours. But overall it's a feel good movie that I'll recommend.

The movie is too lengthy for the story, many a times you have to press the forward button. Salaam bhai has been shoddily characterised. Unnecessary insertion of many incidents. Could have been better as a short film of 20 minutes.

DONT MISS IT MUST WATCH FAMILY MOVIE The first time I saw the trailer & I was waiting for the offical release.

At my place age 8 to 70 all watched it together on Sony Max , didn't want to miss the movie at any cost, wasnt sure it will come on OTT or not.

One of The best family movies of recent times I must say, I am Mriduls Fan already 👌👍 this movie Motivates every child, and elder , brings a smile on senior citizens as well.

Brings back memories of late 90s snooker fever during college days late 90s.

Fever is picking up again for sure after watching the movie.

Very clean family movie. Nice story line, good direction and excellent acting by all, especially Rajeev Kapoor for whom it was the last movie. More such movies should be made. Kudos to the director, producer and the entire team. Such movies should be encouraged.

Simple tale of teenaged boy bringing back dad's honour

A teenaged boy is upset that his alcoholic father ( Raajiv Kapoor) loses the final snooker game to existing champion (Dalip Tahil). He vows to learn and master the game and bring back the lost glory for his father's sake. He also reforms the father weaning him away from alcohol. This movie is based on real events and as per the closing credits the people involved are living and in fact the character of the teenager is based on the life of the director of this movie Mridul Toolsidas.

The movie has a sluggish narrative and suffers from indifferent direction. I am sure it could have been made into a memorable movie in better hands. All it needed was better written work and smarter direction, since there is sufficient potential to bring in emotion and humour. In other words it is missing a professional touch. While the youngster ( Varun Buddhadev) has done well, the roles of his father ( Raajiv Kapoor) and coach ( Sanjay Dutt) do not impress and they suffer from miscasting. This becomes all the more relevant since snooker is not a popular sport like cricket and is also an indoor game. There is an attempt to make snooker interesting by bringing in names of Bollywood heroes to explain the different shots. Dalip Tahil does well as the arrogant and conceited champion of the previous years who feels threatened by the superb game of the teenager. The script definitely needed to be in professional hands to make a successful commercial feature film. Anyway the movie trudges along and just about manages to tell the story in an over simplistic way without any of the conventional trappings of the box office.

Only reason i have not rated it 10 was i feel that some scene could have been made more dramatic and impactful but still this beautiful movie improves as it plays and second half is when it becomes more interesting. First half is more light and humorous. A nicely made sports drama.

I watched this with my 8 yo who has recently started playing pool. We both enjoyed the movie. The technical details about the game were pretty accurate. The kid can hold a stick. His stance and bridge were very good, which tells me he put effort in the role. The best thing was the subject was given a light hearted treatment. Even some of serious issues were addressed without unnecessary emotional drama.

Ache se topic pr kitni bekar movie bnai ja sakti hai ye film hume ache se dekhati hai...waste of your valuable time so no need to watch this movie as there is nothing new in it. Jaise har Hindi movie mei jo masala barso se dala ja rha hai usse kitne gande or daal sakte hai movie mei bas yhi dikhaya gya hai.

Rajiv Kapoor is the smallest brother of Rishi & Randhir Kapoor. He was a good hero but did not have many movies to prove himself.

Toolsidas Junior is a nice movie - Story is good and the performance by all the actors are up to the standard.

Sanjay Dutt fits well the role .

Junior Toosidas performer, the child artiste acts well.

Rajiv Kapoor presence is felt during the whole movie.

A Royal salute to him.

Rating 9/10.

A movie on snooker is like a dream come true, hats off to the director who told his childhood story in a very good way. Only problem I could find is except the kid and sanjaydutt, all other actors don't know how to play snooker, they should have learn at least the stance. And. But still movie is amazingly directed. Sanjay dutt was full on fire. Other actors were also did a great job. Full rating for the courage for making a movie on snooker.

Its very refreshing to see a movie based on snooker, that's a rarity in Indian cinema, and all thanks to the director for bringing this up to the viewers. With this movie as base, even a common man can learn the basic tricks and tactics of the game. Some movies inspires us, and this movie is sure in that list. Well Played, Toolsidas Jr and Toolsidas Sr. (with his acting)

This is up-straight a motivational movie and sure the characters have played their part, very well. All credits to the cast and crew.

The subtleties and strategies of game are nicely depicted. Great performance by kid, late Rajeev Kapoor and Sanjay dutt.

Truly an underdog film, climax truly manages to raise goosebumps.
