first class meditation tutorial
accts-866-1252953 January 2021
I've only seen the first two lessons, but as a teacher at an online pagan school where meditation is the foundation of all that follows, i can tell this show is in the right headspace.

I've always claimed I can teach someone to meditate in 3 minutes and the first lesson was nearly exactly what I would have taught someone and they took little longer than that.

highly recommended for everyone. /guy (silverlocke)

Graphics and animation are too cute, interesting real life story + great beginner's guide all in all!

Warning: Spoilers
Too stoked to stream this on Netflix when I saw a friend who is also into meditation posted this on his Instagram story! I am now on episode 2 and so far, it's been so good. The series is all about the narrator's real life story from giving up his former job to being a Buddhist monk and incorporating meditation as part of his meaningful life. What makes it all the more interesting is the usage of such cute graphics and animation whilst story telling and each episode also contains a 10 minute guided meditation! This is really pretty helpful to everyone-- beginners, intermediate and those who are curious to know what meditation is and planning to also try it and include it in their daily routine!

Such a great Netflix recommendation to start this new year to have a mindful, calmer and zen life after a tough year. Would definitely recommend this to friends!

Succeeds in its mission
naveennbhat18 January 2021
The series does what it set out to do as a guide to meditation, so I really have no complaints. From a film-making point of view, the visuals and animation graphics are kept simple, and to the point of what is being narrated on screen in the moment. I went along with the directions of the narrator- close my eyes, focus on the breathing, etc. It seemed to help. So, there.

United In Silence
michaelyoseph1 January 2021
Andy Puddicombe is the voice that guided me in Meditation for over 2 years, and occasionally still does when I need a reminder on certain techniques. I can't begin to say how useful it is to this very day. You almost feel born again after practicing these techniques, and wish you knew of them sooner.

Headspace has brought immense calm to many people, and now seeing them on a massive platform is exciting, because many more will be opened to this simple yet powerful tool called meditation. These tools have the potential to create a more peaceful, kind, and calm world. This show has great graphic, great narration, and as always, great techniques from Andy.

To end, I'll quote Headspace: "Traditions may bind us, cultures alienate us, language and words divide us. But in silence, we are united."

Letting Go in Stressful Times
oliwerld5 January 2021
This is absolutely Brilliant, it's a perfect way to get yourself into meditation. I love the animations, it keeps it engaging and also has a very relaxing tone to every episode. Andy presents the information in a way that anyone can grasp, making it easy to understand. His stories are relatable, and his guidance is much appreciated. I would love to see the show come out with even more seasons. This show is the gift that keeps giving. This is very beneficial in helping with stress and anxieties, and helps to train yourself so no matter what times life brings you, you have a way to help yourself and the people you love. With practice these meditations can bring a lot more peace and balance to your life, I know it does for me.

just breathe.
mattdgurule10 January 2021
I needed this, this guide to peacefulness, and finding the mellow. It's scary and unfortunate how in a hurry to get on with life we are, rarely fully allowing ourselves to just live and appreciate. I am so happy this simple guide to mental health came to a streaming platform such as Netflix. This is progress at work I'm my opinion.

A beautiful series
dalvara8 January 2021
I stumbled upon the headspace podcast through Spotify and fell in love with the style and quality of the advice. It came at the exact right time in my life where I needed to just slow down and practice being aware and present. So pleasant to find a newly released Netflix series as well with beautiful visuals and meditation practice. I've been wanting to practice meditation for a long time and now finally am. The series really is helping mellow me out and be present. I hope it has a long life.

Great Help
sinefilcinephile10 January 2021
I have been listening to the tutorial for the last three days before sleeping, and it has been such a calming experience for me. It taught me that in silence we are all united. Coping with stress is a difficult task, and our minds keep spinning. We need a silent moment. Put your headphones on and listen to it before sleeping for twenty minutes top. Trust me, it helps.

Meditation for beginners
juniormayhe-9804018 January 2021
Brilliant content, amazing work on guiding people to meditation. My wife and me are watching these, and the short answer is yes: the exercises are pretty relaxing, some might make you feel sleepy... but it is normal.

The design, colors and animations are outstanding. I am looking forward to see more episodes.

I am not sure how Andy Puddicombe relates to Jay Shetty, a guy that has some podcasts and wrote a book called Think like a monk.

I guess meditation is going to be a huge trend from now on.

Good for beginners
timurtaimur20 January 2021
It's a good read upwards but can be a preachy. Meditation, although can be traced back to Buddhism did not originate there. In fact, much of its origins come from non-religious affiliation and this programme (along with many sources) chooses not to cover this topic.

Overall, I'd you enjoy meditation and want to take your practice further it is a good watch, but come to it with a level mind and don't buy into the hosts own personal beliefs. The programme provides good advice overall.

Thank you, that's saving my life from my pessimist brain
sidlocospez5 March 2021
Thank you, I was always angry, sad, anxious, I was surrounded by the stress, and all of that exercise helps me a lot to see my life in an otherside. At the end of each episode I have the feeling to be somewhere else in peace and now I try to keep that way everytime in my life ! (I've tried a lot of meditation guide on YouTube but is the only one who's work with me)

Simple and clear
tomriis-6120721 February 2021
Main thing I enjoyed was that I physically felt better (more clear headed and calm) after each practice meditation at the end of the episodes. Really unlike any other show Ive watched. It felt like I was directly increasing the clarity of my mind. I will keep repeating the episodes/practice just for that reason.

Just what we all need :)
xxsunnysarahxx22 January 2021
I like many others just go through life on auto pilot, then this worldwide pandemic hit. Which jaulted us all into this sence of constant unease and unknowing, I have always felt stressed, like a ball of tightly wound twine, then those two components made my head want to implode. stumbling upon headspace Guide to Meditation on Netflix was just what I needed, the directions are clear and simple with a lovely background or Andy the narrator, has such a soothing voice, plus the animated images are relaxing, I have only watched 3 episodes and feel all that tightness dissolving, I felt a beautiful sense of calm which continued after the actual Meditation. I look forward to watching an episode each day. I urge you to give it a go.

Great animations, useful practices, forced and annoying narration
eeetim1 January 2021
It's a very interesting, useful, must see documentary, probably was made to boost the popularity of their app. The animation and the music is amazing and entertaining, however the narration isn't my favorite at all. It might be the dialect or the tone of voice (sorry Andy), and I wouldn't care if it wasn't about meditation, but one of the most important aspect to focus on should be the approach of the guide. The narration while doing the practices should be calming and relaxing, but it's rather strange and feel very very forced and makes me annoyed.

It healed me truly.
austinnathan-8906510 November 2022
I never thought that I would be saying this, cuz I was skeptical abou this technique that is said to be helpful for managing anxiety and depression. When I tried it for the first time in my life,I was in a very bad mental condition, I was feeling super suci/dal, I had lost a one of my loved ones; which was a year ago from now. Trust me, I thought this was the worst idea ever to even try it but I tried to stick with it, over the course of a month, I started to see physical changes as well as mental changes. It actually started getting better, I WAS GETTING BETTER! I was able to accept the loss of my loved one, I was able to accept that I too, can feel stuff and it's okay. I started to feel grateful to life. Well this is the bright side though, Somedays it actually gets a little harder for me to continue meditation but I still try. It has become a part of my life now. I feel incomplete if I don't do it for several days. I want to says thanks to Andi and the creators of this series, I don't know if you'll ever read it or not, Thank you for helping me to heal myself.

Achieves its purpose successfully
bonniewatt30 June 2021
It provides techniques which can be and are encouraged to be used outside the show also which have helped me be at peace with my mind and circumstances. My anxiety since committing to these techniques has greatly decreased, however mainly my reactivity to things shifted to responsiveness. This show eases people in who are not too familiar with meditation or who like me weren't able to feel 'right' for lack of a better word with other voices and guides on YouTube etc. Highly recommend, anybody I've recommended headspace app or show to who's taken the recommendation into action has expressed great appreciation for this. Whilst some comments call the show preachy, I think if you're watching a show which is a guide to meditation, the show assumes youre open to the guide? If you hadn't clicked on the series then I can understand however within context I think it's Andy showing us his world and techniques through how he has learnt, and lessons are certainly able to be extracted, it's up to the individual to determine what lessons to extrapolate and what to let go, and hopefully the guide will bring more clarity to even this!

Not bad unless...
marcuscoltro21 February 2021
Seriously, I've tried hard watching it but had to stop when I started seeing squirrels on my window (and I live on the 17th floor).

I guess it was not made for people with ADD.
