Why Do I Rate It 6.5 Or 7/10? This Review Is For Movie People. Leggo! Predictable Plot Holes. Expect Clichès And Expect The Expected. BUT. Great Acting, Hooks Me Along The Emotional Storyline And Is Very Inspiring. A Little Spoilers But Yeah. If You Want Something Motivational, Based On Women Rights With Great Acting? THIS IS IT. Something You Watch If You Want To Be Teached. Personally, Its Great, But Because Of The Expected Scenes Actually Turning Out & Predictable Plot Holes? Naw. Description? Along The Lines Of Great. Its Predictability Brought It Down 3 Scores. Otherwise, It Would Be Perfect. Inspiring. Emotional. Nice Videography. Good Acting. Simply Amazing. Im A Singaporean Malay Muslim So I Understand Some Of The Language. Don't Understand Any Of The Language? Subtitles. Watch It With Those. Please Do. Its An Amazing Movie. Just. Too Predictable. 10/10. As A Movie? 7/10. P.S. Written By 11 Year Old Kid. Not Kidding.

An inspiring tale of a Muslim woman

Warning: Spoilers
*may contain spoiler* Third religious-themed film from the director Hanung Bramantyo. "Ayat-ayat Cinta", his first religious attempt made a big impact in Indonesia's movie scene, surely "Perempuan Berkalung Sorban" is to be compared. The film is suited to be labeled controversial since it contravenes the dogma of Islam. Anissa, the heroine in this film, questioning about the teachings in Islam especially when it comes to women. She becomes rebel. She resists to be unappreciated in every aspect as a woman. Women have as much opportunity as men to be a leader.

Anissa is a modern Kartini (Indonesia's famous heroine), she inspires other young women to express their freedom: freedom of speech, freedom to do things men do, freedom of equality. Hanung's audacious approach in this movie deserves an accolade. It's hard to get away from society's wrath, to consider Indonesia is the most populous Muslim country. Kudos to Hanung for bringing up the religion issue in Indonesia without being judgmental, but exemplifying facts. Glad with the ending that hints how religious and reality can go along together.
